Chapter 8 I Only Want You

Not long after Jeremy's disappearance, the police had informed Heather that he had left the country safe and sound. That was when she realized that Jeremy, once content to live a modest life by her side, had grown tired of their situation and abandoned her.

Now, however, Jeremy was denying everything.

"I did leave money and a letter for you," Jeremy insisted. Realization dawned on him then, and he spoke with a tinge of anger. "I left in a hurry because of an emergency. After I gave the money to the landlady, she must have taken it."

Since the money was never passed on, the letter remained undelivered as well. It seemed a series of misunderstandings had kept them apart.

He tried to reach Heather afterward but never managed to make contact.

Understanding the situation didn't stir much emotion in Heather. Too much time had passed, and too much had changed. She stared at Jeremy intently and asked, "But I heard you're planning to marry Miss Murphy soon, and you want me to break up with Cedric. What role am I to play in your life then? Are we friends with benefits? Or am I a hidden mistress?"

Jeremy's expression darkened as he pulled her close. "It's just a formality. That marriage means nothing to me."

Heather laughed sharply, the sound tinged with irony. She sat on his legs while half-naked, holding his hard erection through his pants. "Really? Then what am I to you?"

"My true love," he claimed, as he drew her even closer and kissed her passionately. Holding her waist, Jeremy pressed her against him, kissing her deeply and sucking gently on her tongue. "Can't you feel it? I only want you."

Heather found his words absurd. He was prepared to marry a woman he didn't love, bestowing upon her the title of legal wife, while keeping his supposed "true love" hidden away. It was a role that would make her a pitiful secret, never truly acknowledged.

In the two years he had been gone, Jeremy had only become more unscrupulous. But Heather had her own dreams and goals to chase. She couldn't tether her life to a man on the verge of marriage, who expected her to settle for being his hidden mistress.

"How about this?" Heather said, unzipping Jeremy's trousers and freeing him. She held his manhood firmly, her grip steady. "If you want me, just say so. We can spend the whole night together, but I won't acknowledge your demand for me to break up with Cedric."

As his manhood pressed against her, she trembled but held on, her eyes locking with his now darkened gaze. "I don't care what you think of me now, but I believed we had broken up. Cedric has been there for me these past two years. I want a future with him." She leaned in and kissed Jeremy's tense lips softly. "I'll meet your desires tonight, but after this, we part ways. We'll be strangers, okay?"

Even with Jeremy's explanations, her resolve remained firm. She was determined to move on from him, no matter what.

"You're willing to have sex with me for him?" Jeremy sneered, gripping the back of her neck to maintain his distance. His eyes were fierce. "Do you think I came to you just to have sex with you?"

"I don't love you anymore," Heather replied firmly. "Two years was enough time to remove you from my heart."

"Really?" Jeremy's anger flared even more. He thrust into her, pressing against her wetness. "It's obvious you haven't been with anyone else. You never had sex with your boyfriend; it's obvious you've waited for me all this time. You still love me."

Heather moaned, her hands clutching his shoulders. His words stung, but she refused to give in. She gritted her teeth and lied, "I didn't sleep with Cedric because I didn't want him to know I'm not a virgin. I was afraid he'd reject me."

Jeremy laughed bitterly. "So, are you planning to go to the hospital to restore your hymen just to erase my existence from your life?"
