Chapter 5 Mine

Adam approached Jaxon with a grim expression etched on his face. "Alpha, we've spotted a female werewolf rogue just outside our park boundaries," he reported, his voice steady despite the concern in his eyes. Jaxon frowned, a mix of annoyance and reluctance flaring within him. "Handle it, Adam. We don't have time for rogue issues right now." He wanted to dismiss it, leave the matter in his beta's capable hands, but a strange sensation tugged at his heart. His wolf stirred restlessly, instincts flaring to life. It was an inexplicable pull, an urge that defied logic.

Before he could overthink it, Jaxon felt his legs moving, driven by an unseen force. His muscles rippled and shifted as he transitioned into his wolf form, the world around him becoming a blur as he raced through the forest. Trees blurred past him, the wind whipping through his fur, but his mind was singularly focused on one thing: the rogue. As he neared the park's boundaries, the scent hit him-familiar yet foreign, sweet yet earthy. He pushed harder, his paws pounding against the forest floor until he burst through the trees, coming face to face with her. She was a stark contrast to the vibrant forest, her pale skin and black hair matted with dirt. She lay unconscious, surrounded by his pack warriors, their postures tense and ready for action. Jaxon felt a fierce protectiveness rise within him, a possessiveness that startled even himself. An angry growl rumbled deep in his chest, a clear warning to his warriors. "Mine!" The word echoed through the clearing, his tone leaving no room for argument. The warriors stepped back, their eyes wide with surprise and understanding. Jaxon shifted back to his human form, his gaze never leaving the unconscious female. He approached her cautiously, his heart pounding in his chest. Kneeling beside her, he brushed a strand of hair from her face, the touch gentle despite the intensity of his emotions. "She's my mate," he said, the realization settling in with a mixture of awe and protectiveness. He could feel the bond, even though she was unconscious, a connection that went beyond mere attraction. Adam approached, his eyes filled with concern and curiosity. "What do we do now, Alpha?"Jaxon looked up at his friend, determination hardening his features. "We take her back to the pack house. She needs care and protection. Inform the others to stand down. No one is to harm her."Adam nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Understood, Jaxon." With careful hands, Jaxon lifted his mate, cradling her against his chest. The touch of her skin against his sent a wave of warmth through him, a sense of rightness he had never felt before. He turned towards the pack house, his steps resolute, knowing that this unexpected encounter would change everything. As he walked, his mind raced with questions. Who was she? What had happened to her? But one thing was clear: he would protect her with everything he had. This rogue, this mate, was now his world.
