6 YEARS AFTER
THE LITTLE five year old boy is playing with gun toys and cars. He is all joyed with whatever he is on.
"Brroomm brooommm!" He mimicked the sound of a car while moving his car toy. He was wearing a yellow shirt and a black pajama. His eyes are golden hazel, his hair is brown and curly, and that birthmark with weird shape on his left hand as if it was a tattooed weird art.
"Trevor, dinner is ready!" A lady called for the boy's name. The aroma of the cooked food spread around the apartment. Trevor immediately stood up and ran toward the dining area.
"Mom! Did you cook the spaghetti with sliced hotdogs and white toppings for the dinner tonight?!" Trevor joyfully asked to her mother, Attila.
Attila smiled as she saw her baby getting very excited.
"As always dear. Friday night is spaghetti night. Ready to dig in?" She said.
Trevor nodded as he eagerly sat on the chair and waited for his mom to serve him the spaghetti.
The mother and son ate the dinner peacefully. It was a delightful night for the two of them on that dining area as always... Or so she thought.
While washing the dishes after they finished taking their dinner, Attila's phone rung. An unknown number flashed on the screen as it calls Attila's phone.
Attila wiped her hands on her apron before she picked up the phone. She was doubtful of whoever is calling. But thinking it might be a client for a wedding dress or gown, she answered immediately.
"Hello?" Her voice was soft.
"Attila." A familiar voice almost echoed on her ears.
"This is Attila from Lolita dress store. How may I help you?" She pretended that she couldn't recognize Mr. Revis' voice on the other line.
"Attila, this is your father." Said Mr. Revis.
Attila smiled sarcastically. Her father? What's that? She thought the only family she has is her son who for the very first time, she felt loved with and appreciated.
"Hello sir, thank you for reaching out to us. But if you do not have any intention to negotiate with our store, I may hang up on you." Attila said professionally. She doesn't need any of her family anymore. She lives by herself now, she live with love and care with her son who cherished her the most that she never felt with her past family. What else could she ask for from that family?
"Attila!" Her father's tone raised. Before Mr. Revis could speak further, Attila hung up the phone.
She took a deep breath as she blocked the negative feelings beginning to flow unto her mind because of her father.
"Calm down Attila. That family is nothing to me now!" She tried to be unaffected as much as she could.
Then, she dialed her friend, Meghan which she answered immediately.
"Yes my beloved Amiga?"
"Girl! You're not gonna believe this! My father- I mean Mr. Revis just called me awhile ago!" Attila immediately spilled the talk.
"What? Why? What did he say?" Meghan asked.
"I don't have any idea. I hung up knowing that I don't have business with them no more. I mean, who are they in my life?!" Attila responded.
Meghan's laughs echoed on the phone!
"Well Slayed dear! You really know how not to be stupid, ain't yah?!"
"Of course!" Attila laughed it off.
"Yeah except on the part that you thought the room 303 was the toilet" Meghan answered.
The two of them exchanged laughs.
"Hey, that stupidity gave me the person that finally appreciated me. I can never call the time I made my Trevor a stupidity!" Attila said back, smiling.
"Oh you just love Trevor so much, ain't yah?"
"Yes Meg. I love my son so much! I didn't regret a single thing about what happened. The only regret I have right now is it didn't happen earlier!" She uttered. But deep inside, she's still missing Michael.
What if she didn't ended up on that room? What if she actually married Michael? Because truth to be told, the first time she felt loved was when she is in relationship with Michael.
Attila shunned the thoughts.
Meghan and Attila continued talking on the phone while exchanging their kiddings and cracking up jokes as if the situation they went through was nothing already.
After few minutes of talking and chitchatting, the two of them finally decided to end the conversation with an almost unending goodbyes to each other.
Right after the call between them, Mr. Revis once again called on Attila's phone.
Attila hesitated, but in the end, she answered the call. This time, being true to herself.
"Yes?" She greeted, uninterested.
"Attila, could you hear me out?" It was Mr. Revis. It must be a miracle that he is asking Attila politely.
"I could but I won't. Also I can't." She answered, and she hung it up immediately.
Again, Mr. Revis called which Attila answered too.
"Attila, I am asking you." Mr. Revis said.
Attila crossed her arms and sat down the dining seat.
"And I'm answering you?" She said as she stopped her laugh.
"I am requesting." Said Mr. Revis.
"What's the magic word? Mr. Revis" Attila asked, she smiled a little, being silly to mr. Revis.
She could imagine the irritation of that old man on the other side and she couldn't be happier.
"P-Please..." It took awhile before Mr. Revis answered.
"Nope, not the magic word!" She covered her mouth to stop the loud laugh as she joke with the old man on the other side of the phone.
"W-What is the magic word then?" Asked by Mr. Revis.
Attila stoped laughing and took a deep breath. She dropped a silly smile and she spoke.
"The magic word is..." She stopped for awhile. "Chupapi munyano! Now say it, Mr. Revis!" She uttered. Attila muted the mic of the phone and throw her loudest laugh as she covered her mouth.
She hold her self and tried to calm down as she waited of her father's response. She also made sure that she recorded it. But Mr. Revis did not responded to it, instead he called the name of Attila.
That familiar tone again came back on Attila as if it was a creepy species crawling on her skin.
"Are you mocking me?" Mr. Revis asked.
Attila sighed and calmed herself.
"What do you need?" She asked Mr. Revis, this time in a serious tone.
"Go back in America-"
"And what if I won't?" She immediately cut off her father.
"I am asking you, Attila. I am getting older and I want to talk with you in person, even just once."
Attila couldn't figure out if Mr. Revis is being sincere or not. But deep inside, she's still she always have been hoping for a happy and complete, big family.
"Please go to USA tomorrow. I will send all the money needed for your transportation--"
"I am capable affording my ride, sir." She interrupted her father's speech. "But sure, you may expect me there tomorrow. Just so you know, I would hate it very much if any of you would come and fetch me on the airport. I'll go there by myself. Do not be pushy on me because I am not obliged. Remember, I lost my respect to all of you long time ago." And she hung up.
Attila called Meghan to inform her about the situation and as well as to ask her for company tomorrow.
"Oh my ghad gurl! You really slayed tonight! Homocorrerctus! You don't need to respect those pests! Slay slay slay!!!" Meghan couldn't stop celebrating from what Attila told her. "Alright girlie. I'm gonna go with you tomorrow. I'll make sure I'll be by your side tomorrow."
Attila smiled at the phone. "Thank you very much, Meghan. God! I love you so much! You really are the best!"
"Yeah I better be!" Meghan said to Attila before they hang up with each other.
Attila smiled as she put her phone down on the table. She took a relieving sigh then she went to her son, Trevor to prepare for his night half bath.
After preparing for goodnights and packing the things she is going to take with her tomorrow, she then slept, hugging her son on their bed.
THE SUNRISE bulled the room of Attila from the transparent glass window of her house. Attila prepared everything, including the flight ticket in business class and then she went to the airport where she will meet Meghan which is still not there.
It's not really a problem because their flight will still be by 1 hour from now. While Attila is seating on a bench at the airport, her Trevor kept running and playing adorably. He has been talking to the people in which the people find very adorable and cute of him.
"Mom look! I befriended an old man! He must be cool when he was young!" Trevor called of Attila as he faces an old man on a wheelchair.
The people laughed at him and so did Attila.
"You bet. I was the coolest on my prime." Said the old man as he chuckled.
"Really? Do you beat bad guys and help poor people with what you can? My mom said those are cool people and I want to be cool!" His voice is tiny and wild, everybody could hear the little Trevor.
The old man laughed at the kid. "Your mom is raising you so right kiddo!" He tapped Trevor's head. "Grow up as a cool person."
Trevor giggled excitedly from the head-tap of the old man. He thanked and ran to his mom.
"Mom! I got tapped on a head. I'm a good boy!" He uttered while bouncing toward his mom. But before he could reach his mom, he bumped into a tall guy on a suit.
He fell off the floor and winced. He looked up at the man, a man seems to be very familiar with Trevor even although he haven't met this man.
"Aw!" Trevor groaned.
Upon seeing Trevor on the floor, Attila immediately ran to her son.
"Baby, are you okay?!" She carries her son quickly and patted his pants to removed the dusts.
Attila heard a sigh from the man that Trevor bumped on to.
"I'm so sorry, sir." Attila apologized out of politeness. "Trevor, say sorry to the big man, here." Then she faced her son.
"But mom, I'm not the one who bumped him. He bumped me. I'm hurt!" Trevor answered.
"Yes dear but to affix our problem, we need to apologize even tho we are also hurt because cool people are also humble and forgiving." Said Attila to her son. "Now say sorry." She sweetly asked.
When Trevor did not answer, Attila faced the man again and apologized once again sincerely. She was about to leave but the man stopped her.
"Miss, could you please watch out for your kid next time? If I didn't stop, I could have kicked his ass!" The man exclaimed.
Attila's eyebrows raised. "I'm sorry. But please watch your language in front of my kid, mister."
The guy smirked, mockingly. "I'll watch my language if you watched your kiddo, miss."
Attila doesn't want to fight Infront of her baby so she calmed herself. But she wouldn't let this pass by without the apology of this man. She is teaching her son how to be a man, how to be humble, but this man is acting very narcissistically in from of her son. She needs an apology.
Attila put down her son and took a deep breath.
"It wasn't his fault entirely. He was walking on a hall where everybody walks. But you walk without even checking what's around you. So please, apologize for whatever you've said. You are the one who hurt someone here, sir." She stood down and lowered her pride as she said that. She used her most polite tone as she strongly hold on her temper.
But politeness seems to be not in this man's vocabulary.
"Now it's my fault? Right! That's right! You women really know how to turn the table upside down! It was you who was being irresponsible for your kiddo out here, and now that i bumped on him because of YOUR lacking, it's now my fault? Huh?" The man was transparently angry.
While the man was ranting, Trevor went to the man as he noticed the weird shaped birthmark on this man's wrist, similar to his. Trevor attempted to touch the hand of this man but the man entered his hand in his pocket.
"Mom! This guy is my daddy!" Trevor screamed in excitement as he attempted to grab the man's hand.
"Hey! Stop touching me with your filthy hand! Get away from me!" The man pushed Trevor away from him.
Trevor went to his mom as he got hurt from that push.
"Wow! Now I'm the daddy" The man smirked. "Hey miss, tell me. Is this your trick? Because a lot of women attempted to pretend I impregnated them. Yeah right! All women around me are bitches. This must be your tactic into getting me huh? Whore?" The man exclaimed to Attila which Attila couldn't bear.
Attila's jaw dropped in disbelief. She made her son cover his eyes which he obediently followed.
After awhile, Attila slapped the man.
The man was in disbelief. His eyes are widening, he looked at Attila.
"Do... Ha! Do you know me, miss?! Do you know me?!" His teeth gritting.
"Trevor, cover you eyes and ears!" Attila instructed to her son which he also followed.
"Oh I know you very well, mister! You are the type of the person who suck in life and now being bitter to everything to the point that he couldn't even forgive after a sincere apology! A dufus!" Attila is prepared to fight.
"Uhuh! A fighter type of woman is Infront of me. Tsk, miss that's not new to me. I've been tricked by a kind of you who pretend that they don't like me and shit but actually just want me and my wealth. Tell me, how many rounds do you want to have sex with me, huh? How many millions do you want? You want a yatch right now?" The man laughed as he attempted to touch Attila.
Attila slapped him again! This time, louder and stronger.
The man and everybody else here is in awe as they watched the fuss.
"Do you actually not know who am I?" The man asked again after the slap. He is very vexed.
Attila sarcastically smirked. "No. But as much as I know, you are a jerk! A scumbag! A piece of shit! So, get away from me and my son! Because someone like you makes the world as the most worst example for the kids!" She yelled.
The man attempted to talk again but Attila slapped him for the third time. But this time, the securities interrupted. For the fourth time Attila attempted to slap him, the man stopped her.
"You must know that I am Travis Williams, miss! I own this very airport you are stepping on and I'm gonna kick your ass-" Before Travis could finish what he is about to say, they were silenced by a sob.
It was Trevor, crying.
Attila looked at her son and immediately went to him.
"Baby, are you okay? What's wrong?" Attila ought to carry her son but the tearing Trevor went to Travis instead.
"I am so sorry I bumped into you. Please forgive me." He was tearing so hard. Turns out, he didn't covered his ears and eyes for long and heard almost everything what his mom and this man has been arguing about. The little boy looked at his mom as he wiped his tears with his tiny hands. "Mom..." He uttered on his heavy breaths as he sobbed. "I caused this... I'm very sorry. Please stop fighting."
Travis Williams couldn't look at the kid. He felt as if he was stepped on by a big foot, his pride is crashed by guilt.
He cleared his throat and fixed his posture. He wanted to apologized too upon realizing that the kid is more moral than the way he acted. But his pride couldn't take it. He just nodded and left with no words. But it doesn't end there. It better not. This Travis William couldn't accept that that woman just slapped him three times. He sure will be back for revenge.
ATTILA immediately grabbed her son and Carried her on her shoulder. She apologized to everybody who were watching them and to the people she bothered. She tapped the back of her baby who is crying on her shoulder as she went back to the benches and sat down while trying to calm her son, Trevor.
After awhile, Meghan finally arrived on the exact time of their flight.
During their flight on an economy class, the two of them tackled about Travis awhile ago while Trevor is asleep with a headphone on him.
"What? No way! You could have kicked his dick, literally! If I was there, I would really punch his face." Meghan stammered with irritation.
"Well, it's fine honestly. He must have learn his lesson by my amazing son's apology." Attila bragged as she smiled.
"Trevor is amazing, girl! You for real is raising a gentleman. That man's ego must have been crushed. Serves him so right!" Meghan responded. "Oh by the way, I called to Sarah and Carla to notify them that we are going back to America."
"Uhuh. What about it?" Attila asked, trying to avoid any topic about 'them'
"Well..." Meghan couldn't answer a bit as she exaggeratedly gave Attila a confused look. "What do you mean 'what about it'?"
"I haven't talked to them for so long since I don't want any contacts to anyone close to my family, actually the entire america so... " Attila shrugged her shoulders. "I wish nothing changed between our friendship."
"Well... Now my question is what the fuck?" - Meghan.
"Come on Meghan. Don't argue with me. I was broken." Attila explained.
Meghan scoffed with an uncooked laugh "I'm not arguing, pshh!" Then she gave a serious look. "Gaddamnit no! We are friends, gurl. At least you should have talked to them twice a month. And psshh, what? You actually didn't talk with them for the entire 6 years? Nah nah nope!" Meghan's voice wasn't loud, her tone is not even raising a bit, but her phrases were strong.
"I know..." Attila took a deep breath as she gently move her thumb around her son's cheeks.
"Anyways, it's gonna be fine. For sure nothing changed. I still trust those two." Meghan took a sigh too as she scanned Attila. She could still see the traces of pain in her eyes. She wish she could still do better to ease the veiled pain of her friend. She knows for sure what Attila has been hiding.
