Chapter 4 Restless

Ryan and Lala's relationship to this morning unexpectedly ended just like that. Ryan was still on campus. He sat pensively on the terrace of the Engineering faculty building opposite the Pharmacy faculty building. He was still thinking about the incident this morning and all the little mistakes he made to Lala, which made Lala decide to separate.

At that time, Ify was doing a pretest with her practicum group friends in the classroom. They finished the pretest until 19.15.

"Okay, tomorrow during the practicum, don't forget to bring orange leaves! Because you will practice how to extract the active substance, there will also be a compound test there," said the teaching assistant, Brian.

"Well, how many ounces of orange leaves do you have to bring?" asked one of Ify's girl friends.

"Yes... you should bring at least 1 plastic bag! Just buy two thousand at the market, you'll get a lot!" explained the teaching assistant casually.

"Okay!"

They finished the pretest. Ify and her friends left their class. They said goodbye to each other and waved goodbye.

"Bye, we're going home first!" said four of Ify's girl friends.

"Yes, bye!!!" shouted Ify and Tika, who were in the same group.

"Uh, Fy, I'm going home too. My brother has already picked me up," said Tika while waving her hand too. Ify nodded and waved back.

Ify immediately left the Pharmacy building, because it was quiet. She immediately headed to the place where she parked her motorcycle. It just so happened that she parked her motorcycle in front of the Faculty of Engineering, right in front of where Ryan was sitting.

Ify walked slowly and looked at the guy who helped her that morning. He seemed to sit with his body slightly leaning forward, his legs spread, and cupped tightly with his hands. His head was bowed and his eyes were blank, as if he had a lot on his mind and was restless.

Ify approached her parked motorcycle and got on slowly. As Ify started the engine, Ryan's reverie was broken. His gaze turned to Ify. Ify, who accidentally looked at him, lowered her head for a moment and smiled hesitantly.

Ryan's gaze was so sharp. His glance was so cold that Ify didn't dare to look at his face for long. Ify immediately backed up her motorbike and launched her motorbike at lightning speed. "How scary is his gaze!" Ify said to herself, she got goosebumps all over her body.

~~

Ryan finally went home. Still restless. He slammed his body on a small sofa as he lay down his exhausted body. His bag was thrown unceremoniously on the sofa.

Aldo, who was in his room, immediately greeted his rented house mate.

"You just got home? Did you come home so late? After making love?" quipped Aldo, who was lying in his bed.

"You're very curious!" Ryan hissed.

Ryan reached into his pants pocket and opened his cell phone, intending to call Lala at that moment. The first ring went unanswered. Lala rejected the second ring.

"Ah, shiittt!!! Rejected again! Pick up!" Ryan muttered softly.

He sent a chat message to Lala.

"Honey, please pick up the phone! I want to talk."

Aldo, who had been lying down, was curious about Ryan. Aldo felt Ryan had been looking restless at his cell phone. "What's wrong with you, Yan? You look Very restless," Aldo got up from his bed and approached his friend. He took the bag that Ryan had put on the sofa and put it under his feet.

Aldo sat down on the sofa. That was only big enough for two people. "What's wrong with you? Are you fight with your girlfriend?"

Ryan nodded and didn't look at his friend's face.

"Yeah, it's easy. Ask her to make love, and then the problem will be solved!" Aldo said, deliberately breaking the ice.

"Ck.. are you kidding me? I'm not just fighting. I'm breaking up!" Ryan replied in an emphasized tone.

"Huh? Broke up?" Aldo wondered. Ryan seemed to sit with his head leaning back, his arms raised and partially covering his face. He seemed to be dizzy with his current situation.

Aldo suddenly chuckled. "Hehe... that means you're single, just like me!" Aldo tried to break the ice again. "Take it easy, bro, as the saying goes. One lost and one thousand gained... there will be a replacement. You're so restless!" Aldo said soothingly.

"I already love Lala so much."

"Well... well... If I were you, I would look another love. Instead of being confused like this. Okay, ah, I will play the game first!" said Aldo while getting up from his small sofa.

The atmosphere that night seemed so dark to Ryan. He was still leaning his head on the sofa in the TV room and living room. He was still thinking about how to get back to Lala, who had become his most beautiful ex.

Suddenly, the cell phone he put on the table rang. Ryan looked shocked, hoping the call was from his ex. However, when he looked at his cell phone, he was disappointed. It turned out that the call came from his older brother. Ryan let out a long sigh and picked up the phone. "Hello," he said flatly, while rubbing his forehead.

"Hello, Ryan! I want to ask you a favor. Would you like to accompany me to dinner tomorrow night?" his older brother Leo's voice came on his cell phone.

"Why do I have to accompany you? Can't you walk alone?"

"I'm really sorry, Yan. You know, I rarely go out with girls."

"Besides, your girl friends in the past - why did you reject them?" Ryan said. Indeed, his older brother in college was lazy in dating, although many had a crush on his brother. Even after graduating from college, he was still single until the age of 30. Finally, he was rushed by his mother and father to get married. His mother and father were in Bandung, so he always asked how his brother was doing. Leo, who now works at a private bank in Jakarta, has yet to find a suitable girl.

"Where did you find a girl, brother?" asked Ryan, interrogating.

"I found it on dating app," he replied briefly.

"Alright, meet me tomorrow at 7pm!" his brother said and hung up.
