Chapter 5 HOW DID WE MAKE LOVE

Adriel's room was massive, almost like a separate house on its own, equipped with everything one might need to live comfortably without ever needing to go downstairs. Just beyond the entrance was a cosy sitting area, while tucked in a corner was a small kitchenette. The main bedroom was hidden by curtains from the parlour, creating an illusion that obscured its existence unless you were already familiar with the room.

Inside the bedroom lay an enormous queen-sized bed. The entire room had a deep shade of green, from the walls to the bedspread, pillowcases, duvet, cushions, and throw pillows- literally everything, just like his gorgeous eye balls.

"Get comfortable," Adriel said, his voice void of warmth. He observed her keenly, as if anticipating a mistake, to reveal a crack in her facade.

As Marian made her way to the side of the bed, her heart pounded in her throat, uncertain of whether she should sit or stand.

She finally sat uncertainly on the side of the bed. Adriel moved closer, his presence overwhelming. "You can start by telling me something only my wife would know," he demanded, his tone a mixture of curiosity and challenge. Marian's mind raced, scrambling for anything that might convince him, while the realization settled in-this was no longer just a charade. This was a battle for her survival, her father's safety, and a future she couldn't yet see.

""What exactly did you mean by what you said outside?" Mariana asked, trying the change the topic.

"Exactly what you heard, you are my wife and I alone deserve your loyalty"

"Were the rich always this icy and annoying" Mariana thought to herself.

"Prepare a hot bath for me," Adriel said, his icy, scrutinizing eyes not leaving her.

Quickly, Marian stood up from the bed, relieved to have a reason to move away from his intense gaze. She couldn't bear another second under his scrutiny and was grateful for the brief release. Moving swiftly, she headed to the bathroom, her mind racing as she tried to gather her thoughts and steady her nerves until she heard his voice.

"Right!"

"WH...what?!"She stuttered.

"The bathroom door is on the right" he said aloofly shifting his gaze to the sling on his arm. "One more thing! The door on the left leads to my study do all you can to stay away it" he continued.

"So rude! Does he think I have the time to snoop around his stuff? Ridiculous" Mariana thought to herself as she continued in her swift strides.

She stopped immediately after she opened the bathroom door, her breath catching in her throat. The bathroom was a masterpiece of grand style and luxury. The Marble floor sparkled under the soft light that illuminated from the chandelier hanging on the high ceiling.

At the center of the room was a Jacuzzi, its sleek, polished surface surrounded by elegant columns. The Jacuzzi was fitted with gold-plated fixtures that shimmered in the light, and its water bubbled invitingly. Along one countertop held an array of plush, neatly folded towels and high-end toiletries. A large, ornate mirror stretched above the counter, reflecting the room's luxurious details.

To the side was a large, walk-in shower with clear glass doors. The whole bathroom was so elegant and comfortable. Marian was amazed by how fancy everything was.

"It's ready" Mariana called out from the bathroom entrance

"Well don't stand there, come help me take off this sling"

She rolled her eyeballs, doesn't he know how to use the word 'please'. She moved nervously to where he stood, placed a hand at his back and unbuckle the sling.

Eduardo looked deep into her eyes, as though he was trying to read her "Careful please, my arms are...... Uuughh" he groaned in pain.

"Did I hurt you?" Mariana panicked

"I was about telling you to put your hand below my arm to give it support" but it's fine, he said "help me with my shirt, be careful with my back, its badly scraped"

She helped him removed his shirt noticing his well-built upper body, she was too shy to look at him so she looked at the mirror behind him instead.

Few minutes later, Adriel came out of the shower looking like the Demi God he was, he wore a towel around his waist, exposing the several drops of water scattered on his sexy chest, his sleek black hair was wet and he had pushed the strands that fell on his forehead all to the back, bringing his gorgeous face to full recognition.

Mariana gulped, she felt a tingling sensation "Geez! What is this man doing to me? He is sex on toes" she thought to herself. She imagined her fingers tracing his small nipple, she jolted back to reality when a voice repeatedly invaded her thoughts.

"Hey!... Hey you!... Hey! Quit staring and help me put on the sling back," he barked in a rude, authoritative voice.

"Was I just admiring him?" she asked herself. "What is wrong with me?" she thought, feeling a flush of embarrassment. "I shouldn't be letting myself get distracted by his looks, especially not in this situation. Focus, Marian, focus. You have a job to do and getting caught up in his charm is not part of it." She mentally chastised herself, determined to keep her emotions in check and not let her guard down.

"Won't you put on your Pyjamas?" she asked while helping him with his sling

He let out a chuckle "I don't wear any" he said. "Help me with this" he said looking down at the towel he was wearing.

"Wh...what?! You want me to undo the towel!" she exclaimed

"I am not sleeping in them, am I?" he asked sarcastically, "What?! You have never seen me naked?"

"NO!" She blurted out

"Then how do we make love? Dressed?" He asked sarcastically, he was eager to know how long she will last, or will she just let her guard down and confess that they were never married.

"We have never made love," she reply.

"But we are married," he said, looking at her mockingly.

"But we haven't consummated the marriage," she added sharply.

"Hmmm, I see I got myself a local wife," he said, staring into her eyes.

Marian's pulse quickened as his words sank in. His gaze was intense, he could feel the heat rising in her cheeks.

She was about to protest further when he suddenly stepped closer, the proximity making her heart pound even harder.

"Maybe it's time we fix that," he murmured, his voice low and dangerous, sending a shiver down her spine. The room seemed to close in around her as he reached for the towel's knot. She took a step back, her mind racing.
