Chapter 3 003

Isadora's POV:

Opening my eyes,the first thing I saw was complete darkness. I couldn't see anything at all. The darkness enveloped me like a thick, suffocating blanket. I could hear the sound of my heartbeat beating loudly in my chest as I found it hard to breathe.

The air which was damp and chilly wasn't doing anything to calm my nerves down. I could hear the faint dripping of water somewhere in the distance. As I shifted,I could feel the cold, rough texture of the stone floor beneath me. I tried to get up on my feet but I was held back by the heavy metals which I didn't notice were encircling my legs and wrists binding me in place. I strained against the chains but they held me tightly cutting into my skin.

Where am I ?

How did I end up here?

Am I dead?

These were the numerous thoughts running in my head. No matter how hard I thought of possible answers to my questions,I couldn't get anything.

What if I'm trapped here and nobody knows that I'm here?

I would only get answers if I find a way to get myself out of here. I just have to use the strength I have to call for help. I inhaled and exhaled before closing my eyes.

"Help me!"I screamed on top of my voice. "I'm trapped here! Help! Help..."I continued my voice echoing into the abyss.

After screaming for goddess knows when,I ran out of breath knowing I had used up my strength and nobody was coming to save me. Perhaps I'm dead after all.

Even if I'm dead,I shouldn't be in a place like this. I heard that once we die,we would be in the presence of the moon goddess and live in paradise, and be happy forever but that is the different case here.

I'm neither in paradise with the moon goddess nor in the world living freely like other werewolves.

I have no idea where I am and it is so frustrating.

I also heard that werewolves who were evil in their lifetime weren't fit to be in the presence of the moon goddess if they died instead they were cast into the pit of misery and pain where they would dwell for eternity.

"Could it be that......" I couldn't allow myself to finish those thoughts.

"No, it's not possible. I'm not evil ,"I muttered to myself. I could feel tears streaming down my cheeks as I lay on the cold floor.

"Moon goddess,help me"I whispered through sobs.

The sudden jingling of keys and approaching footsteps made me sit up immediately as my chest heaved up and down in anticipation,a glimmer of hope igniting within me. There was a ray of hope after all. Perhaps the moon goddess might have heard my plea.

I could hear the cracking of metals followed by the creaking of a big door which gave way for a ray of sunlight to enter, getting rid of the darkness. I blocked my eyes with my palm immediately which wasn't used to the light yet. As my eyes got used to the light,slowly I removed my palms from eyes taking in the two hefty men before me.

"Thank goodness you people found me. I'm trapped here and I don't know how I ended up here," I said, staring at the both of them but they just stood there and their behavior only got me irritated.

"Well can't you both see I need help? Don't just stand there saying and doing nothing. Help me!"

"Inform the Alpha that she is awake,"One of them commanded the other,who promptly departed.

"Am I invisible?"I questioned.

"Shut up!"he bellowed before turning away, shocking me to the core.

"You can't leave me here. Please don't leave me here," I shouted after him but he didn't even pause for a moment. Instead he closed the door and darkness enveloped me once again.

"Maybe there is no hope at all,"I thought as I lay back on the ground, closing my eyes as I forced myself to sleep because that's the only way I can escape my despair temporarily.

I bolted upright immediately when I felt a cold liquid splash over me. I looked up to see those same guards from earlier. I tried to say something but ended up keeping mute because I didn't have any strength left in me. My throat was dry and my stomach ached so much. I can't even remember the last time I drank or ate.

Without saying anything to me,one of them squatted down to my level unlocking the big padlock that was used to padlock the chains on me. After unlocking it,he removed the chains from my leg and hands. I heaved a sigh of relief at the thought of my freedom.

Finally I would get answers to all the questions in my head. I tried to stand up on my feet but ended up falling back because my feet were too weak. I looked at the two hefty men before. Before I could say anything to them,they grabbed me,their hold on me hurting me.

They pushed open a golden door, dragging me inside with them. I was amazed with the setting and design of the room I had just entered.

"Is she the one?"A voice brought me out of my reverie taking me to the direction of where the voice came from and I was faced with a woman maybe in her late 50s. She had a serious expression on her face.

"Yes, you know what to do"One of the hefty men responded. They were just talking about me as if I was invisible and it only irritated me.

"I will take it from here,"she said, looking me up and down as if I was a tool that would be used for an experiment.

"Can someone tell me what is going on here?"I asked."Where am I ?"

Ignoring me,the guards left the room and I was left alone with this unfamiliar woman and the girls who I presumed were servants by the way they were dressed.

"She is a lot of work but nothing is impossible for us to do as far as the Alpha is concerned. Let's begin,"The woman said to the girls and they started approaching me.

I stepped back immediately but they didn't stop coming closer. The closer they came,the more I stepped back. This continued until my back was touching the wall.

"Don't take another step towards me,"I warned, pointing my fingers at them and they halted glancing at the woman who was obviously their superior.

"Don't make this too hard for us,"the woman said, coming closer to me with a stern expression on her face but I didn't cower.

"You can't just come out from nowhere and lay your hands on me. I demand to know what's going on here. Who are you'all and what do you plan on doing with me? Where am I?"

"Seems your memory is messed up,huh?"she responded, rolling her eyes at me.

"Actually my memory is messed up,that's the reason I want to know what's going on here,"I said to her and she let out a laugh before her expression became serious again.

"It's annoying enough that an enemy like you is our Alpha's mate and going to be our Luna soon. Please don't annoy me more with your useless questions acting as if you don't know what is going on," Her response did nothing in answering my questions but only confused me the most.

What does she mean by me being the enemy and being their Alpha's mate? Well I guess I would only find my answers if I meet this mysterious Alpha because obviously,I won't get anything from this woman. I should just play along with them.

"When am I meeting the Alpha?"I questioned.

"After we get you cleaned up,"she responded and I nodded.

"Grab her,"she ordered the servants and I moved back, staring daggers at them. I hated the idea of them treating me like I'm a criminal. "Nobody should touch me,I can walk on my own,"

The woman was the one staring daggers at me now but I didn't care.

"As you said earlier, I'm going to be your Luna soon. You don't want to get on my bad side or do you?"I questioned with a smirk on my face.

I could see her fists clenched but I only smiled because my words had the desired effect on her.

"Let her walk on her own," she said to the servants and they stepped back.

I followed the servants into the bathroom. I stepped into the bathtub which was filled to the brim with hot water and flowers. The water helped in calming my nerves down. The servants helped in washing my body and hair.

I didn't know why the feeling was so familiar like it wasn't the first time I was having this kind of bath but no matter how hard I tried to remember anything, it's as if my mind is blank and only ends up causing me severe headache the more I try.
