"Why are you so shocked, Eva? Don't forget you were kidnapped and I just saved you. I can't let you stay outside this mansion." He expressed himself, showing his level of concern.
I got the point he was trying to make. That softened my mind. 'To think, Conor was right. What if something happens to me again? Who would save me? And the most dangerous thing was that, if I start staying with my parents, he wouldn't even know about my disappearance not until after a long time.' I thought in my head.
But then, even though I could see reasons with him. I loved my parents so much and I have missed them a whole lot. I wanted to spend more time with them.
I was confused about the next statement to make. Maybe I should agree with him or I shouldn't, I can't tell.
Conor spoke to me at once. "I know this is difficult for you, Eva. This isn't part of my plans either. But your safety is the utmost priority here." His voice was convincing to an extent that I couldn't think out of the box at that moment.
Unfortunately for me, Conor had a different plan that I wasn't aware of at that moment.
"Okay. But I want to spend some time with my parents." I made my desire known to him.
'Why is she so relentless? What is so special about spending time with her parents?' Conor had those thoughts in his head.
He sighed. "I understand your desire to speak with your parents. To think, If I was in your shoes, I would have done worse. Think about it, Eva. Your safety shouldn't be jeopardized for anything and you can always go and see your parents any time you want. I am ready to give them one of my mansions to stay in." Conor expressed himself with a deep, gentle tone. Making his voice swiftly enter into my mind.
I couldn't just think otherwise. 'This man is watching out for me. I shouldn't be ungrateful.' I thought in my head and that made me make the decision in my mind.
"Okay. I have heard you. Thank you for looking out for me. I will stay." I said those words out of my lips.
Conor's lips curved with an inaudible smile. His dark intent had just been fuelled. He stepped closer to me and laid his hand on my shoulder. "Do not worry, Eva. You are safe with me." He glared into my eyes while he said those words.
I paid attention to every word spelt out of his lips. I nodded my head in agreement. I do not know the reason my heart believed strongly in everything he said to me.
I felt this strong feeling of safety at that moment.
The next day. I woke up very early to prepare for work as usual. I had walked into the bathroom and got myself dressed up. When I stepped out of my room, I met with Conor.
He had this unsatisfied countenance on his face. I could tell with how he glanced all over my body.
"Why are you looking like this?" He made that comment, even his expression had said a lot of things about how I looked.
I felt awkward. "Is there anything wrong with my dress?" I asked when I knew for certain that it was my dress he had issues with.
"I am sorry to say this, but you are not looking. Your clothing is just off." He expressed himself. Even his countenance had said a lot more.
I sighed. "I will just go in there and have a change of clothes." I spelt out those words.
"Okay. I think that will be better."
I nodded my head and I went back inside the room. I knew Conor would be waiting for me. So I had to quickly change to a more beautiful cloth. Thinking that had caught the chase.
I checked myself in the mirror, then gave myself some accolades before stepping out of the room. Getting out, Conor's comment about my look was shocking.
"Sorry to say, you are not looking any better." He gave that derogatory remark and I felt less of myself for that moment.
In all the clothes that I had, this was the best In them all. And now that he wasn't pleased, I was tired.
"What should I do?" I expressed my frustration.
Conor didn't say a word. He removed his wallet from his pocket and he picked out his ATM from the wallet.
I wondered what he was going to do with the ATM that he picked out of the wallet.
He sighed. "Eva. This is one of my ATM cards. I think I have got around a hundred million dollars in it. So, take it and go get yourself a good cloth." When he said that, I froze at the spot.
I was expecting that move from him. For a moment, I couldn't believe the reality before me. I was short of words and unsure of what to say at the moment.
Conor extended the ATM. "You need the money in this card to get yourself decent dresses. At least, make you look perfect for this job. Take it."
Few breaths left my nostrils while I furrowed my gaze at him. I extended my hand slowly and I collected the card from him.
"Do you mean it?" I still couldn't believe it and I had to ask the question from him.
Conor nodded his head. "Of course." "For your safety, my bodyguard will follow you." He notified me.
Conor left my presence. I glanced at the ATM in my hand for a while. A smile revealed on my face. 'A whooping hundred million dollars. That's a lot just to spend on clothings.' I thought in my head.
I quickly snapped out of the surprise and I stepped out of the mansion only for me to meet a muscled man with a broad chest. He was also thick.
But the problem was that he was obstructing movement. That made me shoot a deadly glare at him.
"Who are you? And what do you want?" He wasn't one of the regular bodyguards of Conor. The face was new and that made me wonder what his mission was.
'Could he be a kidnapper?' That was where my mind went due to the recent attack I had gone through.
