Chapter 6 Pregnant and Betrayed

5. Pregnant and Betrayed

Wynter trembled as she perused the pregnancy report. The realization of her pregnancy at such a young age, compounded by the ongoing heartbreak, caught her off guard.

Initially, she contemplated confiding in her mother but hesitated, fearing judgment. The echoes of her parents' warnings about being cautious around him reverberated in her mind, highlighting missed cues.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she sank to the ground, enveloped in uncertainty. Lost in a whirlwind of emotions, she grappled with the overwhelming situation.

Collecting herself, Wynter made a firm decision to reach out to Sean the following day to address their issues. Should reconciliation prove elusive, she steeled herself for the possibility of considering other options.

A sudden knock at the door startled Wynter, causing her to tremble. "Are you awake, Wynter?" Sabrina's voice called out, prompting Wynter to swiftly compose herself before facing the unexpected visitor.

Wynter took a deep breath and cautiously opened the door, hoping Sabrina wouldn't sense her underlying worry. Sabrina stood there, holding a dish of food, which could also be described as a tray of snacks accompanied by a glass of milk.

Upon seeing Wynter's troubled expression, Sabrina's face contorted into a scowl. "Wynter, what's going on?" Sabrina inquired firmly, her tone laced with concern.

Wynter's heart raced with fear. "What's the matter, Mama Iris?" she responded, her voice tinged with anxiety.

Sabrina entered the room, placing the tray on the bed before turning her gaze back to Wynter. "Haven't I advised you to take breaks and relax in between tasks?" Sabrina questioned, her hands folded in a gesture of care. "I don't want you to be overwhelmed, my dear."

It was evident to Sabrina that Wynter was burdened with schoolwork. Wynter let out a sigh, feeling guilty for keeping things from Sabrina. Despite knowing that Sabrina was the one person who wouldn't judge her and would support her in making the right choice, Wynter struggled to open up about her inner turmoil.

Wynter was overwhelmed with emotions and found solace in hugging Sabrina, surprising her momentarily. "I know you're under a lot of pressure, but take a break and rest for a while. I believe you'll do great in your exams," Sabrina reassured Wynter, gently patting her on the back.

Summoning her courage after much contemplation, Wynter decided to share her thoughts with Sabrina. "I have something to tell you, Mama Iris," Wynter expressed, her voice filled with hesitation.

Listening attentively, Sabrina nodded encouragingly, noticing Wynter's nervousness. She understood that Wynter was struggling to speak up. "Take your time, my love," Sabrina comforted Wynter, cupping her cheeks. "Remember, I am your best friend before I am your mother, and I want you to feel comfortable sharing with me. Give yourself space and time to gather your thoughts before opening up to others."

Wynter realized the importance of being kind to herself. She made a decision to confide in Sean the next day and then make a choice. "Let's eat something now; you haven't had dinner," Sabrina gently reminded Wynter, offering her the tray of food.

"No, Mama Iris, I'm not in the mood for it," Wynter replied with a monotone voice, declining the offer of food. "Do you want to sleep here with me today?" she asked Sabrina, seeking comfort in her presence.

Noticing Wynter's unusual request to sleep together, Sabrina decided to oblige. She gently placed Wynter on her lap, setting the dish aside for later. Sabrina lovingly stroked Wynter's hair, trying to provide solace, but her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of past vulnerabilities with Sean.

As Wynter drifted off to sleep in her mother's embrace, Sabrina's mind raced with concerns about the impending confrontation. The next morning, Wynter woke up in a hurry, consumed by thoughts of what she needed to discuss with Sean. Despite the lack of revision, her intense focus in class allowed her to complete the exams successfully.

After finishing her tests, Wynter anxiously waited for Sean outside his classroom, eager to address the looming confrontation. However, when Sean didn't appear, Wynter approached one of his close friends from a different class in search of answers.

He halted when he spotted Wynter. "Hey, Rehan, have you seen Sean?" Wynter asked.

He nervously touched the back of his neck, feeling a bit shy in her presence. He had always harbored feelings for Wynter, but he restrained himself upon learning she was dating Sean.

"Did you?" Wynter repeated her question.

"Um... actually, I'm not on good terms with him, so I'm sorry, I don't know where he is," he replied, shaking his head. Rehan had a confrontation with Sean after discovering Sean had broken up with Wynter, leading to a dispute.

"Yes, I understand," Wynter's expression fell as she started to walk away, deciding to give it more time.

As Rehan was about to leave, something dawned on him. "Oh, I almost forgot. Sean's class completed their exams yesterday. Do you have anything serious on your mind?" Rehan asked.

"Nothing major," she replied. Wynter shook her head. "By the way, thank you," she said with a gentle smile before walking away.

She found herself trapped with no way out. It was inevitable; she had to head to Sean's residence and come clean about everything.

Wynter hopped into her car and drove towards Sean's lavish mansion, situated in the opposite direction from her own home.

Living solo, Sean's parents resided overseas, making it apparent that the house was solely his domain.

Wynter let out a sigh as she parked her car by the roadside. As a guard hurried towards her, she stepped out and approached the gate.

"Is Sean in? I need to see him," Wynter informed the guard, who recognized her from before and knew her identity.

"Sorry Ma'am, Sir left yesterday night. He stated he was going to start a new life in a different place, but he gave me a note and asked me to give it to you if you came seeking him." The guard elaborated.

Wynter pondered what it may be. The guard walked inside and returned with a letter.

Wynter took a seat in the corner and began reading the letter. 'Hey Wynter,' it said. 'I may have moved away from you while you are reading this letter, and you may have anticipated the scenario. I'd want to begin by apologizing to you. Hurting you was never my purpose, but now I just want to get rid of all the weight I've been carrying on my shoulders. Now that I'm leaving this place for good, I feel compelled to tell you the truth. I'd be lying if I claimed I didn't realize what I was doing. I knew I was going to harm you, but let me be honest with you. I was intrigued by the idea of dating someone famous, but as time passed, I realized that I am a man with needs, and I couldn't stop lusting over your body, but it was too late for me to realize that you are not the type I should go for, but you are amazing, but you are not up to my expectations. believe me, I tried to love you, but you're too innocent and don't pique my interest. I'm sorry I couldn't keep up with the faucet. I couldn't bring myself to tell you this in person, so I'm writing this letter and confessing everything. I hope you find someone better, and please accept my apologies for wrecking your life.'

As Wynter finished reading the letter, tears streamed down her face, leaving her a sobbing mess. The guard, noticing her distress, asked if she was okay, but Wynter, lost in her emotions, didn't respond. She quietly retreated to her car, driving away in silence.

During her journey home, a message from Sabrina popped up, informing Wynter of their delayed arrival for dinner and advising her to rest until they got there. Another message followed, letting Wynter know that Sabrina had set aside a new card for her to use.

Realizing what needed to be done, Wynter made a swift decision. Upon reaching home, she changed into comfortable attire, reflecting on her thoughts one last time. She affirmed her choice, recognizing that it was time to take charge of her life independently, as Sean's message had evidently taught her.

Fueled by a newfound determination, Wynter picked up the card and set off towards the hospital, whispering to herself, "Abortion is the best decision for both my child and me." She drove away, resolute in her choice.
