"Your injury hasn't healed yet. Don't stay out too long, or let your friends come here." said Dominic.
"I'll go out for a bit and return after a little talk," Lucia said quickly.
Cleon stood aside, neither going nor sitting with them. He wanted to talk to Dominic but wanted to sit at a different table than Lucia. Dominic and Lucia ignored his presence and continued to eat their breakfast. Seeing the harmonious atmosphere, Cleon was angry that he was in his home but felt out of place.
Dominic looked at the clock and got up to go to the company with Mister Miller on his way out. Only Lucia, Cleon, and a few workers were left in the dining room.
"I've never seen someone as shameless as you. It doesn't matter how you persuade my father to let you stay here, nor do I care what your goals are. But I warn you. You better leave now and never appear in front of me again. Or I'll make you regret it." Cleon warned loudly.
Lucia drank the milk, wiped her lips, then stood up and looked calmly at Cleon.
"If I stayed here and it bothered you, I would be happier. Also, you need help understanding something. Mister Franklin is not only the head of the Franklin group of companies but also the chairman of the entire Franklin family. He also owns Grande Mountain, where he invited me to stay. What qualifications do you have to complain? I'm interested and looking forward to it. What are you going to do to make me regret it?"
When Cleon saw Lucia leave him, his heart was so angry that he wanted to hurry up and kick her out.
Lucia asked Mister Miller to prepare the car for her and went to pick up Emma.
Emma got into the car and saw a bandage on Lucia's forehead.
"What happened to your forehead?"
"Just a little injury. It will heal soon." Lucia replied as she drove.
"What's so important that you have to go overseas while the college exams are in progress? Do you still need to get ready for college? You said you wanted to attend New York University but missed the entrance exam. Are you planning to choose a regular university? Or will you try again next year?"
"This year, I plan to enter a perfume competition. And if I'm lucky, I might be able to be made a disciple by a master and get a special entrance exam. If I'm not lucky, I'll try again next year."
Lucia regretted missing the New York University exam. However, she was sure to participate in the competition.
"You may not know it, but Beata and her mother and your father, aunt, and uncle live at Cleon's house. Your father keeps telling everyone that you are unfilial and have no conscience. He even said that he would sue you."
Lucia smiled coldly and asked, " How will he sue me? Sue me for not supporting him? I'm only nineteen years old and still a student, and he's not even seventy years old. He can take care of himself. After a few years have passed, I will give him a certain amount of money every month according to the provisions of the law."
Lucia was angry with her father in a past life. Moreover, in this life, she had just ended their father-daughter relationship.
"One more thing, Cleon and Beata, they're engaged. I asked people to ask questions and learned that Cleon was doing it to prevent Beata from being looked down upon for being a mistress. Because of that, he worked hard to get his grandfather's blessing. Beata was one of Master Flora White's favourite students and was the best-performing student of those entering the perfumery department of New York University. It was highly appreciated by the campus, even before the lectures started. So Cleon's grandfather agreed to their engagement."
"Regarding perfume, Beata is quite talented and hardworking," Lucia admits. However, Lucia would wait and see how far Beata could go in this life.
"Still, their relationship is still uncertain. Cleon comes from the Franklin family, and he is the only son of his father. Even if his grandfather agreed to his engagement to Beata, his father would not necessarily agree. But even if Cleon's father disagrees, Cleon has proven his determination and sincerity. The friends we used to have good relations with are now on Beata's side. That's the reality of life." Emma said.
"Then they're not very good friends. They do their own business, and we can't control that."
Lucia knew all these people well from her previous life. Moreover, all her anger and sadness are just the past from her last life. Now, she did not feel any emotion about them.
"Cleon has said that he would never let you go. Your company might be going through some difficulties."
"You don't have to worry, I know."
Since Lucia had publicly let go of all pretence with Cleon and Beata, she was prepared if Cleon interfered with her company. However, she had saved Dominic, who would not stand still.
Lucia pulled over and parked on the side of an empty road. She stared at the scene ahead as she spoke to Emma.
A shiny black car stopped before them at that moment, and someone got out.
"Oh, you two, watching the scenery here?"
Marie walked over to them and stared through the open window with a naughty face. She looked at Lucia and sneered, "I heard Cleon fell in love and dumped you. I wanted to ask how are you feeling now?"
"Go." Emma glared at Lucia.
"Why such a hurry? Let's chat for a bit." Marie glanced at Lucia with a provoking look, "I'm curious about your feelings. It's cheered me up recently, you know? I feel ticklish thinking about you always defending Cleon before this."
"I told you to leave, you hear me?" Emma shouted.
"Just tell me, how are you feeling now?" Marie pretended not to hear Emma and continued to provoke Lucia.
Lucia stared at Marie blankly, then opened the door and left.
Standing before her, Lucia stared momentarily before slapping her in the face.
Marie did not expect Lucia to take action and fell to the ground unprepared.
"You dare to slap me?" angry Marie.
Marie was instantly furious and stood up to fight back but was quickly kicked in the stomach by Lucia. She fell back to the ground.
Lucia stepped on Marie's stomach and looked at her.
Emma quickly got out of the car to stop Lucia.
"Lucia, forget it. She has a cheap mouth. Don't lower yourself to her level."
Marie lost face and became angrier. She threw Lucia's leg with great difficulty and wanted to fight back, but she was not Lucia's opponent and could only be defeated one-sidedly.
Lucia grabbed Marie's clothes and dragged her a few steps before throwing them hard at her car with a thud.
Opening Marie's backseat door, Lucia threw it inside. She pulled on her belt and tied her hands to the handle above the car window, then opened the door to the driver's seat and got in.
