Chapter 4 Homecoming

"Hmmm you look very happy, is that what I am thinking Mabel?" her mother, Gena teased.

"Stop mom, stop," Mabel replied, trying to hold her excitement and smile.

"I know you guys liked each other as a kid so I hope you rekindle it besides It won't be bad for you to be answering Queen ".

"Stop mum, you are really embarrassing me" she replied leaving her where she stood as she admires her daughter's beauty

The whole Jones family was busy. They were preparing for the homecoming of the Queens.

The Queens are long term friends of the Jones, they are one of the most powerful families in the county. They traveled to states years back due to some business contracts with the state government.

Neto Queens is the head of the Queen's company, a company that oversees the country's best telecommunication. They were super rich and powerful.

Neto Queens is married to Jessica, a beautiful and classy lady. They meet during their time at University.

They have two children, Ethan Queen and Lucy Queen. Ethan Queen is the first and only son of Neto. He is a clear replica of his father, he has cute and charming looks. His height, 6 feet 5 inches and his masculine physique was something that could create infatuation in any girl that graced his presence.

Neto was a very good friend of Richard when he was alive. Their friendship dates back to the University days and since then have been close friends. Before they left for the states the two families' children were very close especially Ethan and Mabel hence her mother teased her about the homecoming of Ethan.

Their friendship was so special that even the two families hoped that it would be something that could bring them closer than ever .

Nathan though has seen the picture of the families around various corners of their home but he has never met them. They left six months before he came hence he was oblivious of the old time friendship between Mabel, his secret girlfriend and Ethan.

The University was still on but still Gena made sure that the whole family came back to welcome their long time friends. The Queens were coming back for good. Their kids, Ethan and Lucy were already enrolled in Liberty University to continue their studies.

On Their arrival they were welcomed by the Jones family it was like they never left for the love and loyalty the two families have for each other was never lost.

"Thank you Gena for everything"Jessica appreciated.

"Is nothing my dear, you people are just like a family to me" she replied cheerfully.

"Before I forget, did you have another kid?" Jessica asked with a cynical look.

"No! Are you kidding me, no!".

"then who is that" as she directs her glass of drink towards Nathan.

"Oh that's my late husband's boy, a boy that he picked out of the slums you know Richard and his kind.. whatever he's just a nobody" she commented.

"Nobody! yeah, he definitely looks like one"Jessica chipped as they laughed together. They were definitely catching up.

Mabel was jaw dropped when she saw Ethan after a long time. He has metamorphosed to something incredible.

"Should I say 10 years or 12 years" she guesses

"Actually fourteen good years," Ethan replied with a smirking smile.

He continued "you still look as beautiful as you were".

"you don't look bad at all "she complimented back as she smiled sheepishly, evidently blushing.

Just on a look one could tell that there is an unfinished business between the two.

Mr Nobody, Nathan was left out but he was though having a good time at least he could eat anything he wants.

"I bet it will test good "a very chilling voice that could melt the most furious heart project towards him.

He turned and beheld a beautiful creature before him.

"Lucy! my name is Lucy" as she brought out a hand shake gesture

"Nathan! Nathan O'Neal " he replied as he tried to comfort himself.

"Nice meeting you Nathan "

"You too," he replied.

"You seem kinda left out" she stated. Just as Nathan was about to reply Neto called her.

"Lucy, come let's have a picture, " Neto shouted.

As she leaves she noticed that Nathan was not coming so she dragged him. As they got where they were to take the picture. The whole family fixed themselves in a position, Nathan was about to join them but the old nemesis Mrs Gena shouted

"You clumsy oaf! what are you trying to do?"

"Sorry ma " Nathan replied

"Sorry for yourself cunt! do you see anyone like you here, get the fuck off" she yelled

Nathan was hurt emotionally and he shamefully withdrew himself from them. He was in pain and had a terrible emotional breakdown. He rushed inside in tears. He cried with a heavy heart and wished that he was never born.

The heart is a place where our emotions reside. Emotions like pain, joy, love ,hate and many others. Nathan is a boy that never knew his parents, hated and picked up on at every given time even from those that he loved.

The kids were Back in the University after the weekend in which they celebrated the homecoming of the Queens. It was a graceful event for many but surely not for Nathan.

Class resumed as usual and school activities returned gradually. The two Queens children were already in school. They have resumed already.

The link up between Ethan and Mabel was easy, their feelings for each other grew day by day. Mabel had already forgotten his boyfriend Nathan.

"Girls, are you thinking what I am thinking?" Zara, Mabel's friend asked rhetorically. She then continued

"I think Mabel is falling for the new guy".

"Shut up your mouth you bitch!"

Mabel replied immediately, stoning Zara on her pillow.

"Is that true Mabel?"Jane asked with a slight of disappointment in her tone

"Is it that conspicuous?"she asked with excitement.

"Yeah, anyone can see it apart from Jane" Zara sarcastically stated as she sneers

"What about Nathan?"Jane asked.

"Please don't call that good for nothing dude here. I mean the dude is fucking poor". She stated firmly while hushing Jane

She continued

"please if you don't have what to say just shut up" directing to jane.

Mabel always feels unhappy anytime she remembers that she was Nathan's girlfriend and to worsen the situation, Ethan is already asking her out. What will she do? the handsome but poor Nathan or the Handsome and rich Ethan. To many it won't really be a tough question but what of Mabel, well time will tell.
