Chapter 5 Five years later

" Gina "

I was woken by the nature call, so I ran to the bathroom to take care of it.

I then realised that I was all naked, like the day I was born.

All of a sudden, yesterday's events hit me like a thunderbolt.

When I woke up in the morning, I was all alone.

I found the other side of my bed empty, but her sweet smell was still lingering on the pillow. I got up from my bed and searched for my lovely mate.

no answer

"Gina, my love, are you in the bathroom?"

I knocked on the bathroom door and

I got no response.

I checked the bathroom, but it was empty.

I checked my dressing room, but there was no sign of her.

I felt a bang in my heart.

Did she return to her room?

I mind-linked her adoptive father and asked about her, and he said she had been absent since last night. I talked to the royal guards about her, and they said that she had left the kingdom's border in the morning and they did not bother to stop her because they thought she was not important to anyone.

She left me!

I fell to my knees.

Why did you leave me without a word?

Did she think I would blame her for what happened and hurt her?

Did she use me for her own good?

I was a one-night stand for her, nothing more; we are mated for god's sake!

Salty tears prickle behind my eyelids. I never felt so vulnerable in my entire life.

I miss her already. She abandoned me. My heart is shattered. I shouldn't cry over a lowly human. I was going to reject her for God's sake.

But when I saw her battle scars, I knew how brave she was. I knew how she hid them and kept her shins high. I am proud of her. She graduated from high school with an excellent grade, even with abuse and hatred.

"Mommy, is Grandpa Jojo coming today?

My four-year-old princess, Angie, said it in her cute baby voice.

"Yes, baby, later on, we will have lunch together."

"Yay!" she clapped.

She hopped out of my lap and ran to her siblings playing in the garden.

"Hey, you didn't finish your breakfast! I yelled.

"I am full, Mommy"and she pats her stomach; god, she's so adorable.

It's been 5 years since I ran away from the kingdom and from my mate.

When I got to the city, I stayed at a cheap motel for a week, but I needed a job before my savings ran out, so I started looking for one, and I was lucky to find one in a coffee shop and bar.

Everything was working smoothly; I rented a small apartment and bought a laptop to take an online bachelor's degree in software engineering, until I found out that I was pregnant with not one baby but three babies.

I was knocked up after one night with my mate .

It was a hard task especially at night at the bar, but I had no choice; I needed to work to be prepared for the pups arriving.

But unfortunately, in the last months of my pregnancy, I was like a huge cow; I got heavy, and it was nearly impossible for me to keep working, so I got fired and humiliated in front of customers.

That day, I met Uncle Jared, and my life took a huge turn.

A flashback:

I was six months pregnant, and I was huge due to my pregnancy with triplets, and walking was a hard task for me, not to mention working.

According to the coffee house's policy, it's strictly forbidden for pregnant women to work there, but the manager, after I begged him, let me work there.

He knows that, as an orphan, I am all alone; no one is there to help me, so he pitied me and kept me working secretly from the owner of the place.

One day, the coffee shop was crowded, and I couldn't keep up with all the customers' orders, so they started complaining about the late service.

To my bad luck, all that happened when the owner visited the place was that he started yelling at me and kicked me out of the place without my last paycheck.

I went to the park across the street and sat on the bench, i was a sobbing mess ,I thought my life was over.

How am I going to pay for my rent and my online studies without a job?

How am I going to raise three children? They need milk, diapers, medication, etc.

"Excuse me, Miss."

"Yes"

It was a man in his fifties wearing an expensive suit; he seemed like a very rich guy.

"I was sitting at the coffee shop you were working at, and I saw how the owner treated you, so if you let me, I can help."

I was scared for me and for my babies; what if he was the leader of human trafficking or a serial killer?

"No thanks"

"I am not a psycho stalker or a criminal; you need help, and I want to help you. Here is my business card. Call me any time and do a background check on me on the internet."

"Okay, think about it and give me a call," he said, and he left.

Later at night, I searched for his name on the internet: Jared White. He's a billionaire; he owns multibillion-dollar companies with branches in all the US states.

He lives on his ranch in Texas. I was impressed with the information.

Maybe he's a good man, and he really wants to help me and my babies.

So I decided to call him tomorrow.

I called first in the morning, and we agreed to meet for coffee.

"Good morning, Mr. White."

"Good morning; call me Jared."

"How are you and the babies?"

"Good, thank you."

"So, tell me, what is your story?"

I told him everything except for the werewolf thing.

"They are Alpha's babies?"

I was shocked!

"How did you know? "" Are you a werewolf?"

"I can smell them, and no, I am a lycan Alpha."

"So how did you get knocked up by a werewolf?"

I told him the whole story, and he got furious about how they treated me, and he threatened to make them pay for what they deserved, but I assured him that I didn't want anything related to them.

"I am the king of Lycan, and it will make me happy if you come to live with me in my kingdom back in Texas."

"I will take care of you and the babies."

"Okay, I will go with you."

So I moved to his kingdom and became a pack member. After 3 months, I got into labor, and even though I was pregnant with a werewolf pup, my pregnancy lasted 9 months, unlike the werewolf pregnancy that lasted for four months. I gave birth to a baby girl, Angelina, and two handsome boys, Kilyan and Onyx. It was hard labor, and at a vulnerable moment, I wished for Xander's presence to hold my hand and wished for his father figure in our lives.

Handling a werewolf triplet's babies is a hard task, even with the help of Jared and the nannies.

Days passed and were filled with joy and happiness, and I was happy with my new life.

But fate worked in mysterious ways.

One day, I was in Jared's study looking for a book to read while the babies were sleeping. I was holding a book when some pictures dropped to the ground. I picked them up, and I was shocked to find the person in the picture was me from the day I started to work in the coffee shop until the day I met Jared, and the other pictures belonged to other women looking like me.

My heart started pounding fast; he lied to me, but why?

I needed to confront him, so I went to the gym when he was working out.

"Hello sweetie, what brought you here? Jared, I need to talk to you. Why the hell do you have my pictures? Are you stalking me? You lied about your intentions? I yelled.

His face paled.

"Sweetheart, don't get me wrong; I don't have a bad intention, I swear."

"Explain then, and the woman in the picture who looks like me, who is she?"

"I will tell you everything; just calm down."

"She's my daughter Sarah; she died 20 years ago with her husband Jason in a rogue attack. They were at the werewolf kingdom to celebrate the prince's 6th birthday.

The werewolf queen was my daughter's best friend.

When they were travelling back home with their 4-year-old baby girl with them, they got attacked by a rogue.

They couldn't make it, and the baby was nowhere to be found."

"I taught you until I found you at the coffee shop."

"You, immm, think I am Rose."

"I am not 100 percent sure, but I have a strong feeling that you are."

"But I am a human; it can't be true."

"No, we lycans smell human until we reach 20 years old, then we turn to our lycans. If you are a rose on your 20th birthday next month, you will be meeting your lycan."

"We can do DNA testing to find out if you're my granddaughter."

I let out a painful sob and nodded my head. I am going to finally know my origin.

I thought my parents had abandoned me, that they didn't want me, and that I was an unlovable child.

But the truth is that they died defending me.

the day the result came out, and it was 99 percent related to Jared, and I am his grandchild. I cried for hours with Jared.

I have finally found my real home, the place where I belong.

End of flashback:

My grandpa officially presented me to the kingdom after the DNA results as the long-lost princess, and they welcomed me with an open heart.

Now I'm happy with my kids and grandpa.

I finally have a beautiful home with my beautiful family.

but I can't rest until I find the people behind my parents' deaths.
