Chapter 6 6

Tristan and Kelsey were in a heated argument.

"How can you be like this, Tristan? After marriage, whatever you gain should be shared as marital property," Kelsey exclaimed.

Tristan retorted bluntly, "Why do you have so many problems? Look at Jayme, she agreed right away back then!"

Kelsey was so angry she felt like she might pass out. She didn't know who she got pregnant with and took a huge gamble marrying Tristan, all for the sake of money. But Tristan turned out to be the stingiest trust fund baby she had ever met.

So, they started arguing right there on the street.

I was tempted to stay and watch the argument unfold, but my phone rang at that moment.

I answered, "Hello, who is this?"

The voice on the other end was low and carried a hint of amusement. It was a man. "Hello, Jayme."

"I heard you got divorced."

I frowned and checked the number again, realizing I didn't recognize it. "Who are you?"

The man chuckled, his voice unhurried, "Have you forgotten me so quickly?"

"Brother's wife?"

My heart skipped a beat.
