Chapter 4 4

Perhaps I had anticipated this for a long time, so when Tristan finally brought it up, it wasn't as hard to accept as I had imagined.

I agreed to divorce Tristan.

Too many things had been weighing me down, and this was the final straw that broke the camel's back.

I had been loyal to him for so many years, and my only bottom line was-

My only bottom line was that he shouldn't sleep with other women.

I thought my expectations were low enough. I didn't care about his money, nor did I seek his love. I just hoped he could spend more time with me during his free moments. Even if he didn't do much, I would still be content.

But when he told me he had slept with Kelsey, I couldn't accept it.

Kelsey's child wasn't his.

But what does it matter?

I quickly packed my things and moved out.

After I moved out, Kelsey naturally moved in.

On the day of the divorce, I reminded Tristan:

"You should pay more attention to Kelsey. That child..."

"Shut up!"

I hadn't even finished speaking when he interrupted me.

"As long as you don't come back to bother me, that's all I ask!" he warned me. "Don't come back and disrupt our lives. Come back in a month to finalize the divorce."

Alright then.

I swallowed the words I wanted to say, but there was one thing I had to say.

"Tristan, I've taken care of you for so many years, and in the end, you still cheated on me."

"Say sorry to me."

My heart was aching, but I kept a calm face. "Otherwise, if I make a fuss, this divorce won't go so smoothly."

He stared at me for a long time.

He should have known that I wasn't the type to make a scene.

But he still said, "I'm sorry."

It wasn't particularly sincere, and it even felt a bit half-hearted.

But it was the only time he had ever apologized to me since I met him.

The price was his infidelity and our divorce.

I forced a smile and genuinely said:

"I wish you happiness."
