Chapter 4 4

This'll be the seventh day. But tomorrow the duke will arrive.

I prepared what I was going to bring because I was going to hunt the soldiers!

Manang would not allow me. He said a lot this morning as I fixed Felix's bank account.

I spent a lot in the past because of the mansion cleaning.

That's fine and that's my only job! It's over too!

Manang had a lot of bread and put it in my bag.

Sometimes I would just feel annoyed and happy with her actions! It's just reminding me that someone is really taking care of me!

I was riding in the carriage but before it was going there was a knock on its window.

I opened it and saw the general riding his horse. He gave a bow and some arrows that I requested earlier.

"My lady, it's better for you to just stay inside the carriage, it'll be dangerous out there," she warned.

I just shrugged it and closed the window. I just felt like the carriage was moving.

I want to join their hunting. I'm fine here!

And I can lose John! Every time I see him I remember your mountain-mountainous papers! I'm nervous in no time!

When we arrived I went down to the carriage and looked around.

We're in a dark forest and it's giving me chills! I'm eexcite!

"You two, guard the duchess if anything happens to her, you will miss me," I heard the general say to the two soldiers.

My forehead twitched. I don't want to be with you! But all right!

We entered the inner forest. We started our hunting.

After a half an hour they got it. I'm not yet!

I saw them celebrating when one of them caught a huge deer!

Hmmph!

I left there and searched for the animal I was going to get!

I'm getting away but I know the way and come back!

I heard thunder. It's raining!

I only hear the dried leaves I hear in this rough part.

I stopped with a moving plant. I aimed ny arrow to that direction. Ready it if anything would ever jump to me.

As I come closer. I heard a cries of cries of an animal.

I lowered my weapon and immediately went to it.

It was a white fox! What is it doing here! I loaded it up and saw if it was hit. But nothing!

I felt a drop of water on my skin. It's starting to rain.

I put my weapon back and loaded the fox on my arm.

I have just walked back to where you were with me. And suddenly the heavy rain fell!

"Duchess!" They shouted.

I'm almost there. And wet my clothes!

General saw me and immediately gave me a coat and was admitted to the carriage.

I sneezed and I looked outside to see what's happening.

We're not leaving yet!

I saw the General hurt the two of me. It's not their fault!

I sighed and looked at the fox. I coated it to dry.

This is a Northern Fox. What does it do here?

I shivered at the coldness as the carriage moved.

We got to the mansion and Manang hit me with a sermon.

He bathed me in hot water and dressed.

I approached the fox lying on my bed and slept beside it.

It was as if my body was falling apart. My head hurts too.

When Manang found out that I might be hurt by hunting yesterday.

I forced myself to get up from bed. I saw that fox was still fast asleep.

I left the bed and looked at the clock. It's morning but still dark, maybe because it's raining.

I approached the window and looked outside. I saw some assistants running toward the house entrance.

What are they doing? They will have a fever!

But I was stuck to see the familiar carriage.

Felix.

I quickly pulled the long scarf into the cabinet and ran out of the room.

Not minding my headache and my body hurting! I wanna see if he's fine!

I don't know why I was so eager to see her. But I can't deny the fact that I was waiting for him patiently in this house. Praying that he's not hurt.

I went down the stairs and saw a lot of helpers. But one of them did not speak.

The silence was deafening. I can only hear the sound of the rain outside.

I walked to the man just entering the door.

Someone pulled me aside.

"Don't go now, right," Manang threatened.

I wondered at her.

She then placed the back of her hand on my forehead.

"You have a fever!" shouted he whispered.

What's with them? Why are they so scared.

I struggled and hurried to Felix.

I was about to greet him when his bloodshot eyes bored to me. It's like anger and even want to kill!

I stopped and checked his whole life. Blood was everywhere.

I shook my head towards her and reached for her cheek to wipe the little blood there.

Her face was moving as I approached.

"Y-you're not hurt, aren't you?" I ask you a question.

He snaked his arms around my waist and was about to kiss me but I stopped.

"I have a cold,"

He raised an eyebrow. Wondering why woud I get a cold.

"You must be tired!" I immediately said that he would not ask.

I looked at Manang as if what was going on was going on.

"Please prepare a warm bath!" I said and he immediately went to Felix's room.

I felt him sniffing my neck.

"Did you finish the paperworks?" He asked as he kissed the side of my neck.

I rolled my eyes.

"Yes!" I was angry.

Remembering those pile of papers he left!

He chuckled and then kissed my forehead.

She took a bath and went straight to my room. Manang went to me and there I was fed.

There I just felt that my whole body was hurting and I wanted to rest too.

"When the Duke comes from the war, no one wants to come to him," Manang said as a wet towel wiped me.

I'm just listening.

"But it's just you, you're the only one who brought him that," he said.

I laughed softly maybe there was no strength because of the fever.

"Don't make me think I'm special to him,"

Because it'll hurt when I assume things.
