Chapter 5: The surprise

The next morning, Romero woke up early to make breakfast for his wife, Annabella. Last night, something was not just fine with the way Annabella disappeared to make a phone call and never returned.

Romero knew it was be Lious. What does he want? Didn't they get divorced rightly?

Some fine scent of deceit must be lingering in the air and Rometo was bendt on finding it out.

Marrying Annabella feels great to Romero even though his love remains aloof to Annabella but he is going to give up loving her even if he ends up crossing the line.

Before Annabella woke for the bed, Romero was right in her room with a cup of cappuccino coffee and pancake.

Faintly opening Annabella's eyes caught a glimpse of Romero staring at her on the bed.

He planted a sweet kiss on Annabella's forehead and she shrugged, allowing the sensation of the kiss to fade off before she could say a word.

" Please don't do this, Remora. I won't love and will never be your wife" Her cold sent chills down Romero's spine and he just smiled like nothing happened.

" Good morning" he greeted, disregarding the scowl on her face. " "Honey, Did you sleep well? Please eat I made it all for you" His smile broadened, as he gave her a romantic glance, crossing the lines she had set in between them.

Annabella's face was not too bright and Romero understood her plight.

" You don't have to make breakfast for me, Romero, and besides, I just got employed at a big Hospital, I need to go prepare for work now" She beacon.

This did not come as a shock to Romero. Logan has told him every little bit of information he needs to know about his Annabella so he wasn't

Shocked.

" Congratulations on your new job, my love" He replied, his eyes filled with love and concern.

" Thank you. I guess k should start preparing now. Don't wanna be late" She replied solemnly, face bended to the quilt on the bed.

" Please eat first. I made this especially for you. Even if you don't want me, please eat something before you leave the house. I can't allow my wife to leave my house, hungry" a dark expression hovered over his face.

Romero glanced at Annabella. He guessed she doesn't know anything about the new Hospital she was employed into.

For, Annabella to find out about Stanford Hospital is going to be a play of fate. There are many secret about the Hospital and Romero wished she never finds out until he was ready to dish them out himself.

Glancing at the food, Annabella fiddled with the spoon in her hands.

" Can I feed you?" Romero asked, reaching his warm hand to her.

" No" She replied firm, her eyes buried to the meal before her. " I will eat by myself" Deep down, Annabella just wanted Romero to leave her sight. He was making it difficult for her to keep to her words.

" Thank you for accepting the meal and congratulations on your new job. I'll just go prepare for work as well" His voice struck with a wit of disappointment plastered in them.

The air stilled as Romero walked out of the room.

Annabella gave a sorrowful sigh. She gazed at Romero as he walked out the door of her room.

Even though they don't share the same bedroom, she could feel the bond between them growing in just two days.

It was like this with Louis yet she loved him dearly.

As Annabella sat fiddling with the spoon in his hands, a text popped into her phone.

It was from Louis Calvin.

Annabella's heart raced in speed and her eyes almost bulged out its sockets as she kept glancing at message.

" You are still my Wife, Annabella and I am going to find you soon"... The message read.

What does Loius want her back? She asked, curling her lips.

Louis cannot be fooling. This must be deep.

Lost in thoughts, Annabella suddenly remembered she was late and dashed into the bathroom for a quick bath.

In Stanford Hospital, Annabella got there panting heavily from running too fast.

Being her first day at work, she was asked to wait for the doctor in the reception.

At about 10:36 a.m., the receptionist, a nurse, called Annabella's attention telling her the doctor was on her seat and would meet with her now.

" Thanks, " She said to the nurse and walked out.

At the CEO's door, she adjusted her clothes and fixed the strand of her hair before opening the door.

The door swung open and Annabella panicked after recognizing the owner of the Hospital.

It was Romero, her husband.

" What are you doing here, Romero?" She could not find her words.

Is he the owner of the hospital? Why is he here?

Seeing Annabella, Romero stood off from his seat to apologize to her for not telling her earlier.

" I'm so sorry I did not tell you this on time please forgive me, honey" a sincere longing for understanding plastered on his face as Annabella kept staring at him in awe.

" Are you secretive? I mean you know I was gonna come here for a job interview?" A monumental sense of betrayal surged through as Romero, yes.

Shocked, Annabell turned to leave. She can't work in the same hospital as Romero.

" Anna please don't leave, I was going to tell you this" Romero tried stopping her but she was furious.

This time, Annabella could not bear this any longer. Romero is a billionaire and she doesn't Know? Her uncle did not reveal this to her.

" I gotta go"

" Anna please wait," Romero said, running after her but she was faster than him.

Scurrying out of the hospital, Annabella bumped into Ingrid, the lady who had been fawning around Romero yesterday at their wedding.

She paused looking at Ingrid's face and Ingrid gave her a defiant Look and walked passed without uttering a word to her.

Suddenly, Ingrid saw Romero running after his wife and she abandoned the patient she was going to attend to and went after him.

However, before Romero could get outside, Annabella had driven out of the hospital.

Romero entered his car driving after her but something was shocking.

Annabell r was not driving in the direction of their PENTHOUSE, not even the direction of Logan's house.

The highway Annabella took was very familiar and kind of looked suspicious to Romero, who was angrily tailing her car.

That is the road that leads to Louis Calvin's mansion.

Is Annabella going to reconcile with her ex-husband?
