Chapter 8 PARTY TIME

After we got back from our shopping adventure, I went straight to my room to take a nap. I'm not much of a party type, I just enjoy watching others do their thing on the dance floor over a sweet low alcohol cocktail. I've yet to find out if Marcus is the party type, but since his sisters are all in it, I think it's the same with him.

A refreshing shower would not only refresh my body, but also cool my mind after my in-laws jealous scene at the mall. Money shouldn't drive a wedge between me and them, it's just not worth it. After three hours of sleep I felt well rested and relaxed. I hear a knock on the door and two women entered on my room. "Luna, we're here to fix your hair and makeup. Are you ready?", one of them asked. I stretched my body out of laziness, got off the couch where I had just settled down and sat down at the dresser table.

"Hello, my name is Evelyn. What's yours?" I asked them. One has black hair like me but baby blue eyes and the other was burgundy with blue eyes too. "I'm Nina, your makeup artist", replied the black-haired girl. "And there's Nikki for your hair, Luna". Nikki straightened my hair, while Nina started to apply some cream to my face. They worked as a team. "I like thick eyeliner and matte lipstick to make my lips look fuller," I instruct her. "I like to come out with an extraordinary hairdo, a complicated braid will do", I said assertively.

The result was astonishing. I just couldn't believe the metamorphosis I went through at the hands of these two women. They are geniuses. With much more confidence, I stood in front of the mirror doing some sexy poses and angles to test my best side. "Luna, your dress now", Nikki reminded me. I went to the walk-in closet and picked up the dress that I think goes best with my makeup.

"Luna, you're just beautiful! The alpha male will go crazy when he sees you," Nikki said with admiration.

I heard a knock on the door and it opened.

Before me stood the sexiest man alive in an expensive branded suit that fits him like a god. He could have stepped out of an international modeling magazine. "Marcus", I whispered in awe. "You are hot. If you weren't my mate already, I would have kidnapped you right now and smuggled you to a remote island, killed you with my kisses".

"My lady, I am yours," he said, playing along. I possessively take his hand and together walk downstairs. The party is in the pack's meeting room in another building. A nice black SUV was waiting for us at the front of the building. Marcus carefully opened the car door and helped me in like a real gentleman. After he stepped in on the other side, we rush to the party hall. Special guests are always late to secure themselves a grand entrance and so did we.

Yes, together we are a dazzling couple, matched in heaven.

As soon as we entered the hall, it fell silent and everyone turned their heads to us.

I thought I made it that time. From the daughter of the fallen alpha family, the abandoned girl of a gay boyfriend, to the partner of the great and mighty alpha male.
