Chapter 3 Nice Guy

Noah

~•~

"Did you see him on my bed?" I broke the silence and all eyes turned to me. "Even if he was on my bed, how is that your business?" I gave him an irritated look.

"I'm your Alpha, talk to me with some respect."

"Yeah, right." I rolled my eyes and covered the blanket over my head. I didn't want to keep on looking at him.

Even though I hated him now, I was still attracted to him. He looked sexy with his brunette hair, hazel eyes, and broad shoulders.

He had the same features as Aiden. The only difference was his height and the color of Aiden's eyes. His eyes were blue like that of his mother while Dimitri had his father's eyes.

I never met their mother, I just saw pictures of her around the house. She was still alive but they didn't like talking about her.

According to Dimitri, she was in another town with two of their siblings. He didn't tell me the reason she didn't live with them in the same house.

"You still haven't answered my question," Dimitri spoke again in a condescending manner.

Aiden scoffed. "I don't have to answer to you." I wasn't seeing what was going on but from what I heard, one of them left the room, stamping his foot angrily.

I slowly took off the blanket off my face and my green eyes met with Dimitri's. "So what do I owe this early morning intrusion?" I asked, curious to know what he came to my room for.

He looked at me for some seconds and cleared his throat. "Why were you watching Becky and me yesterday?"

My face scrunched up into a frown. How did he know it was me who helped them close the door?

"I don't know what you're talking about." I lied and stood up from the bed. "You should leave now." I walked to the door and opened it, gesturing for him to leave.

He moved closer to me and slowly closed the door. "It's been over two years already, move on with your life. It's never going to be you." He said, putting his index under my chin, raising my face to look at me.

I closed my eyes tightly and swallowed hard. His words were like a sharp knife piercing through my heart. I tried my best to keep my emotions in check.

"So all those years meant nothing to you?" I raised an eyebrow at him. "Huh?" My voice was breaking, so I moved away from him and sat on the bed.

When I first moved in with them, Dimitri always stood up for me when other members of the pack tried bullying me and insulting me because I didn't have parents.

We spent so much time playing and watching TV together and I grew up to like him. Aiden also spent a lot of time with me but not as much as Dimitri.

On my 16th birthday, I had my first kiss from Dimitri. It wasn't really a kiss but it was the first time a boy had his lips on my forehead.

Our wolves sensed we were mates and he promised to choose me as his Luna after his father coronated him as the alpha.

I was so happy and I felt complete because I had always felt that finding my mate would be difficult. Unfortunately enough when he was finally crowned as Alpha, he chose to be with a random girl after all the promises he made to me.

"We've been through this before. I'm not going to have a conversation with you about it. Just move on and stop snooping around."

With that, he left the room and closed the door behind him. He didn't really care about me anymore and I needed to accept it.

I wiped off the tears that welled up in the corner of my eyes and covered my full body with the blanket.

"Noah, are you okay?" My wolf, Ava, asked me softly.

She knew I wasn't okay. I sniffed back my tears and took a deep breath before responding. "No, I'm not okay."

"I think it's time you moved on from him." She suggested. I had tried moving on with my life several times but it seemed impossible. I still had a soft spot for him and it was hard to get over him.

"It's not that easy, Ava," I responded in a sad tone.

"I know, but you have to try. Find someone else and try giving them a chance." I snorted at her statement.

I didn't put any effort into associating myself with anybody and I wasn't really the chatty type. Finding someone else would be very difficult unless the moon goddess came to my rescue.

"You know there's someone who really wants and cares about you," Ava said as she figured out what I was thinking about.

I knew exactly who she was referring to but even if I wanted to give him a chance, I didn't want Aiden to be my rebound. I cared about him so much and didn't just want to use him as a means to get over his brother.

"I think it's best to focus on myself and heal genuinely without using someone else as a distraction." I finally responded to Ava.

"Okay, but I'm rooting for you and Aiden. You deserve a nice guy like him."

I shrugged at her words. Aiden was also very attractive and being with him wouldn't be bad but all this while, I was blinded by the idea of Dimitri that I didn't see what was right in front of me.

I wondered if he still felt the same way about me but I didn't want to think about it too much. He was my best friend and I was okay with that.

After making my bed, I sluggishly went downstairs for breakfast. On my way to the dining, I ran into Becky who was on her way out of the house.

I gave her a deadly look and thought about all the ways I could rip her heart apart. She stood at the front door for some seconds, giving me a mischievous smile before exiting the door.

We both hated each other but unlike me, she didn't have any reason to hate me because I didn't steal her boyfriend.

Mine was justifiable because she took Dimitri away from me and always tried rubbing it on my face whenever she had the chance.

I sighed and was on my way to the dining table when Dimitri angrily trudged down the stairs.

Normally, I would have asked what the problem was but since he practically told me he didn't give a fuck about me and earlier, I just kept shut and watched him as he went through the front door.
