For some reason, my sense of smell had intensified. I could smell something. Everything!
"What the fuck?" A strong scent hit my nose.
It was as if I was standing in a garden full of lavender. Next to the garden, there was a waterfall, and the wind was blowing with the coldness of the waterfall.
It was pleasing. I loved the smell. Wait! What's wrong with me?
The scent was getting stronger.
I could hear footsteps coming towards the room from afar. My sense of hearing had increased too.
"Oh my God! Am I crazy?" Suddenly the door flung open.
I turned, and my eyes met a handsome man with a pair of emerald eyes. This was the same man I saw last night.
The memories of yesterday's event rushed in like a mighty wind.
"Don't come any closer," I yelled, jumping from the bed.
"Woah! Calm down," he said, smiling genuinely at me."I won't hurt you"
"Who are you? What am I doing here?" I asked, and my body started aching again.
"Where am I? Where is my moth-" However, before I could finish my statement, my heart beat faster, my knees lost their balance, and before I could realize it, everything went blank.
It was embarrassing, but I fainted...
* * * *
Now, as I opened my eyes, I looked at the ceiling, a room with white walls. I was in a hospital room, the beeping of the machines and the faint smell of antiseptic almost too much for my senses.
I woke up groggy, my body aching and burning. I must have caught a fever.
The sweet scent I was perceiving earlier was gone.
Beep! Beep!!
I heard this beeping sound, almost inside my head.
Wait! How did I even get here? I tried to move but I couldn't.
A nurse in blue scrubs was adjusting the tube in my arm, and I realized it was an IV line, dripping medication and fluids into my veins.
"You're at the hospital, Ms.," she said softly. "You've got a pretty nasty fever. What are your symptoms?"
I stared at her, lost in my thoughts, trying to decipher how I got here.
The mysterious man! Yes, he must have brought me here.
My brain almost exploded as the image of him transforming into a wolf-like creature flashed before my eyes.
I tried to convince myself that what I saw wasn't real, but I couldn't.
It was probably a hallucination.
No, he is a monster, I'm very sure of what I saw.
"Where am I? What is this place?" I asked the nurse, ignoring her question.
The nurse paused and gave me a confused look.
"You're in Dr. Xander's Hospital," she said, her voice soft. "It's a facility for treating members of the pack."
"And as the Alpha's mate, you are a VIP patient," she said in a formal tone, smiling at me.
Pack? Alpha? Mate? I struggled to process what she had said.
"Finally found you, mate." These words echoed in my head again.
And I began to hear a high-pitched cackle in my head.
I started to panic as sweat began to build up inside of me. I was feeling uneasy and unsafe.
Oh my God! Did he kidnap me? My heart began to race faster.
Without thinking twice, I pulled the IV tube from my hand and pushed the nurse with all the strength I could find inside me.
I took to my heels immediately as I exited the room.
My body ached due to the stress it went through during the past week. The spot where the men shot me still ached even though it had mysteriously healed.
I didn't care about my health conditions and the pain I was feeling all over my body. All I wanted was to escape.
My heart was pounding faster. My panic state increased as I arrived at the lobby.
Suddenly, I stumbled and fell.
Immediately, all eyes were on me.
Their attention was fully focused on none other than me.
Silent whispering and murmurs began to fill the whole place. My eyes darted around in confusion.
I felt so confused and suffocated by the eyes looking at me.
What should I do? I thought as my body was rooted to the spot.
Their whispers were getting louder and louder as if their mouths were in my ears. I couldn't take it anymore.
I raised my hands to cover my ears and let out a scream. Their whispers ceased almost immediately.
Was it my scream that stopped them? I wondered as a deadly silence filled the whole place.
I stood to my feet as I took a deep breath. Observing the whole place, I started to walk hastily out of the lobby.
"OUCH!" I yelped as my body collided with someone.
I felt a current of electricity surge through my body. It was as if I was holding a live wire.
My eyes met a pair of beautiful emerald eyes staring down at me as I looked up.
My nose felt as if it was about to explode as the same scent from earlier rushed into it.
A rich scent of freshly bloomed lavender.
I tried to move backwards but he held me to himself.
"Where do you think you are going?" he questioned.
His voice was manly and soothing to the ears. Not everyone could pull that off.
"I'm going home-my mother, I need to see her." For some reason, my voice wasn't audible enough.
"Do you know how long it took me to find you?" he asked.
Find me? How? I was confused by his words.
"You are my mate, I can't let you go."
His mate? What does he mean by that? Is he referring to me as a werewolf? I began to question my originality.
"I'm not who you think I am" I yelled. "You've got the wrong girl"
Could he be telling the truth? Am I a werewolf? Then why haven't I displayed any characteristics of being one?
For some reason, I wasn't sure of my own identity anymore.
Strange things have been happening right from the moment I met this man. First, it was the strange scent and the increase in my sense of hearing.
Now I'm feeling weirdly comfortable around him. I couldn't resist the warmth his body was providing me.
I was melting under him. It was almost as if I turned jelly all of a sudden.
"Please, you have to let me go," I began. "You've got the wrong person. I need to-"
"And you've got the body I desire" He answered. His eyes scanning my entire body. His intentions were clear, he wanted to have sex with me.
Suddenly he threw his arm around my waist and pulled me closer. Before I knew it, his lips were already pressed against mine.
I felt his hand grabbing my ass.
My eyes widened in surprise.
What the fuck is he doing?
"Let go of me." I yelled and slapped across his face.
