Chapter 10 Giving Him A Chance

Roy sat at the dining table, staring blankly at his cup of coffee. His family, noticing his somber expression, exchanged glances with each other. The silence in the room was almost suffocating until finally, his mother spoke up.

"Roy, what's wrong?" Mrs. D'silva asked, her voice filled with concern.

James, Roy's brother, couldn't hold back any longer. "He's in love with Selene Rivers, Mom," he blurted out.

Gasps of surprise filled the room as Roy's sister, Melan, turned wide eyes towards him. Mrs. D'silva was taken aback by the news but quickly composed herself.

"Roy, is this true?" she asked gently, reaching out to place a comforting hand on his.

Roy nodded, his heart heavy with the weight of his unrequited love for Selene. He had mustered up the courage to send her flowers as a token of his affection, only to have them returned with a note of rejection.

"I don't know what to do, Mom. I feel like I've lost any chance with her," Roy admitted, his voice filled with despair.

James stepped in once again, his voice full of determination. "Don't give up, Roy. You just need to keep trying. One day, Selene will see how much you care for her."

His mother nodded in agreement, offering words of reassurance to her son. "You never know what the future holds, Roy. Just keep your heart open and have faith."

Roy felt a glimmer of hope spark within him, bolstered by the unwavering support of his family. With a grateful smile, he hugged them all tightly before excusing himself to get ready for work.

Meanwhile, across town, Selene made her way to Roy's office building. She approached Mary, Roy's secretary, with a request to see him. When Mary informed her that Roy was not in yet, Selene made the decision to leave a message instead.

"I'll wait for him another time then. Please let him know that I stopped by," Selene said softly, handing Mary her contact information.

As Roy arrived at work, Mary wasted no time in relaying Selene's visit to him. A flicker of excitement lit up Roy's eyes upon hearing the news. Without any hesitation, he rushed to his office to call her.

Selene picked up on the second ring, her voice warm and inviting. Then, to Roy's amazement, Selene uttered words that filled his heart with joy.

"I'm giving you a chance, Roy. I want to see where this goes," Selene said, her tone filled with hope.
