Chapter 5 Giving love a chance

Tim went home almost drown in his own thoughts , his mind was messed up , he was so angry that he locked himself up in his room since he got home, he refuse to eat , lisa noticed he hasn't come downstairs for dinner and his usual evening game .

She went knocking on his door.

Go away, you fool, he roared.

He woke up tired with red and swollen eyes as he cried himself to bed overnight .

Liza was surprised with his sudden change of behavior she knows it's kind unusual for him to leave the house like that, she went to his room to clean up and saw a file on his drawer lizard, her phone rang immediately it was Tim.

She left the house immediately, she said " this must be very important "

Tim stormed into his father's office, still fuming about Emily taking his position as a director.

Lisa, the housekeeper, enter the office , her eyes fixed on the scene unfolding in front of her.

" Dad , how could you do this to me ? " Tim asked, his voice echoing off the walls. "I'm your son, your heir ! , I should be the one in charge , not some ... Stranger ! "

Mr Henry breath out , his expression wear out . "Tim, I thought we have been over this.

He moved closer to him touching his shoulder.

You are not ready for that kind of responsibility, and I warned you about this, you remember?, I lost 2 huge contract because of your unseriousness and irresponsibility .

Emily is a brilliant and competent business enthusiast , and she will do great things for this company."

Tim sneer . "You are just trying to humiliate me!, You have always intimidate me at any give opportunity , your excuse is flimsy , thats why you choose her over me right !"

Lisa who stood there like a cold beaten bird , open her mouth in surprise.

She was sensing the tension and couldn't help but intervened. "Excuse me sir , the file is here and please calm down ." Her gentle tone calm Tim's anger, he has not hear Lisa talk in that tone her voice was soothing , he took a deep breath .

Mr Henry continued, "Tim , I know you're hurt , but I want the best for this company, and for you.

I have worked effortless for years to build this company from scratch, You need to focus on your personal life.

I want you find someone responsible to settle down with. That's the key to true happiness , then u can have your corporate title and your allowance and this time I will double it ."

Tim scoffed, " You want me to get married and have kids? So that you can have your grand kids, That's your only verdict ?"

Mr Henry nodded in affirmations . "Yes, son. It's time for you to findd someone to share your life with , you need a companion . And I think I know the right person for you ...

"Who is that?

" Emily." Mr Henry replied

Lisa's eyes widened in surprise , but she remained silent.

Tim face turned red with anger . "You want me to marry my new boss? That's not going to work ! It's a dream dad, wake up.

Mr Henry moved back to his chair .

" Hear me out, Tim , Emily is a wonderful and beautiful lady, and I think you two would make a great couple.

And who knows? You might find happiness in her"

Tim shook his head, but Lisa's calm voice came out in wise words.

"Give your father a chance, sir ," she said. "He wants the best for you. Sometimes we find happiness in unexpected places."

Tim took a deep breath , his anger slowly disappear.

Maybe, his father was right. And with Lisa's Little encouragement , he decided to give it a try.

As they left the office, Mr Henry smiled , a shimmer of hope in his eyes . "I will set up a dinner with Emily and you, . Let's see where things go."

Tim nodded, wearing a small creepy smile on his face . Maybe this was the starting point of something new .

Lisa's wise words kept echoing in his mind, he felt a sense of peace he hadn't felt in a long time.

He told Lisa to wait till they closed and order some snacks and chilled drinks for her lisa was surprised about the sudden change in Tim.

They both left the office , when they reach home, lisa was heading to the kitchen Tim held her hand and said thank you .

Over the next few days, tim found himself thinking about Emily.

He realized that he had been so focused on his anger and resentment that he hadn't taken the time to get to know her. And when they met for dinner , he realized she was a calm person .

they talked and laughed , tim felt a connection he wasn't expecting. And when Emily smiled at him, he felt his heart skip a beat.

Maybe, his father was right. Maybe Emily was the key to his happiness.

As the night drew to an end , tim drove Emily home, feeling a sense of hope he hadn't felt in a long time . And when she leaned in and kissed him , he knew that this was just the beginning of something special.
