Chapter 5 Change of plans

Lisa entered Jessica's office and found her crying. She knew that it was no other than Dave and she felt so bad seeing her friend that way. She has witnessed Jessica whenever Dave shows up. It greatly hurt her to see her friend that way and tried to cheer her up.

Jessica, with your current mood right now I hope you did not forget our date today? Now get up because we're leaving here right this minute

Jessica was static as she didn't want to move.

"I'm not in the mood right now Lisa."

"I know you're not. After seeing those two out there, I just knew that you'll be like this. That is why I have made it my mission to cheer you up."

Jessica chuckled at her best friend's silly move and was grateful she was there at the time she needed someone.

"You see, you smiled at least." Lisa said while dragging her up. 'Now get up before they take our spot. I know you wouldn't want me to waste my $20k dinner date for Dave." She pouted.

Jessica didn't want to disappoint her friend so she decided to go with her and cheer up but she needed to lay Dave and Ivy off.

She picks her office phone and dials her p.a's line a

"Bianca, please come to my office." She said and dropped the phone.

"Yes ma'am, you need me to do anything for you?"

"Yes, B, I want you to lay off our new guests since I haven't heard from them yet."

"Oh, I'm sorry but they had already left."

Jessica was shocked to hear they had left and looked at her best friend who gave her nod.

"Yes ma'am, Mr Dave asked to leave and apologized for causing problems in your office."

"Jessica was a little sad to hear that Dave was the one who asked to leave."

"Ok, I'll be leaving now since I'm done. Please make sure everyone is done here before leaving."

"Alright, ma'am, I'll do that."

"Ok, thank you and have a good evening."

"You too, have a night's rest." Bianca said, leading her to the front of her office before she entered her car with her friend.

"Ok, goodnight Cinderella, I doubt you'll have your Cinderella story yet." Bianca said as she headed back into the firm.

There was total silence while driving which made Lisa uncomfortable.

"Hey babe. If you don't feel like having dinner tonight, I can cancel and maybe we'll do it next time."

"No Lisa, I agreed to have dinner and we're having the dinner. Please don't mind me, I'm just in my stupid feelings but I'm okay, I promise." She said, giving Lisa the assuring look.

"Ok, If you say so. For one minute, I thought this was a bad idea but I'm glad we're not canceling."

Jessica smiled nodding her head as she kept on driving.

"Silly, we are not canceling and I want to have fun a little bit."

"And your daughter?"

She's at mum's place and she was so happy when I dropped her off there this morning so I'm sure she'll be fine. I'll get her tomorrow, we need to loosen up and enjoy the night.

What are you suggesting, her friend asked in shock. "No, tell me it's not what I'm thinking."

Jessica smiled while nodding her head in agreement. "Yes B*tch, it's exactly what you're thinking girl."

"Ahah!" Her friend screamed so loud. "Yes, my friend is back. It's been a long time since we did this together."

"Right! Jessica said. And we'll have the best time of our lives." She put the music on and changed it to their favorite music harry styles, As it was, singing and vibing to it.

"Let's get wasted, Lisa screamed on top of her voice. F*ck, this is going to be the best night of my life and I'm up for it."

They reached their destination for their dinner date and it was one of the best Italian cuisines in Brooklyn. Jessica was in awe of her best friend's thoughtfulness towards her. She gave a little tour of the place admiring the entire venue.

"Do you like it?" Lisa asked

"Yes, I do. My style."

"I knew you'd like it, that's why I picked it."

"Aww, thank you my darling. I knew I could always lean on you anytime and this is definitely the best place to be to lift some mood up."

"Now, that's what I'm talking about. What do you want first, food or drink?"

"Hmm... I think food first because your girl is so famished."

"I see that already. Did you eat because those a** came to take the little joy you had."

Jessica pouted, nodding her head in disagreement.

"And they left leaving you sad, they're so lucky they didn't get a punch from me."

"Ok, Muhammad Ali, I know what you're capable of doing but let's forget them. Remember, we're here to have the best time of our life so let's not bring in irrelevant people."

Jessica was able to calm her infuriating best friend before they called on the waiter to come attend to them.

"Ciao, my name is Andrea and I'll be your host tonight. How may I help be of great service to you my ladies."

"Ciao, I'm Lisa and this is my best friend Jessica and it's nice coming here, by the way I love Italian so much."

"I greatly appreciate you for that today and I hope you do enjoy your night."

"We will do Andrea. Please, we would like to order nice food for a beautiful evening like this. Could you tell us what type of food to go with."

"Ok, for a beautiful evening with beautiful ladies, I'll like to serve you and your friend here our best in the whole of NY, Lasagne alla Bolognese as your food and it's perfect with a bold Italian red wine and for dessert, you'll have the most tastiest, natural and delicious Tiramisù, that you can close your meal with."

"Wow, it tastes even delicious without tasting it. Please serve us right away."

"Alright, I'll be right back."

The night was just starting ouf for both Lisa and Jessica when Jessica got a call from her mother.

"Hello Mother."

"Jessica, you need to come home now!"
