"Well? Fucking say something! Is she one of your fuck toys?!" I snapped glaring at him hard even though Arielle explained earlier on. He looked speechless.
"As a matter of fact, she is." Arielle pitched in and even though I knew she was doing it intentionally, my glare increased but the subject of my anger, just continued eating. The nerve of this guy!
"Oh shut up bitch. I'm not his fuck toy, I'm his mate." The idiot female smirked, looking over at Arielle and then me.
I saw her eyes widen as she took me in before jealousy flashed through her eyes.
"The question here should be, who are you?" The idiot sneered at me.
"Don't you ever call her a bitch again or else, I'll help you get rid of your filthy tongue," I said lowly. I made sure to maintain eye contact with her throughout and I was satisfied to see the flash of unease on her caked face.
"And funny that you said he's your mate." I smiled falsely, "care to say that again?" I dared with a blank look.
"I...you...how dare you talk to me like that? You're in my pack and you should show me some respect!" The idiot said making me roll my eyes.
"I believe the Alpha is Damian who is Mateless. That is, until now." I said. I saw the look of triumph that passed across her face making me smirk.
"Me." I finished, watching as her face dropped with shock and disbelief. There was that look again.
"What? What rubbish are you saying? Damian-"
"Get out." my lovely mate suddenly said, stopping whatever it was she was about to say.
"Hear that? Get out!" The idiot said with a smirk. I made no move to stand up. Only looked at her with a bored gaze.
"Didn't you hear my mate? Get out!" She said again.
"My patience is running thin Maya. Get the fuck out of my house. This is your last warning, don't ever come in here again." Damian said coldly, not even looking at her.
"And get your stupid paws off of me." He said and she instantly dropped her hands. The look on her face was priceless.
"Run along Bitch-ran." I smirked
"Yeah Bitch-ran." Arielle grinned.
She looked at Damian again, as if expecting him to change his mind. Feeling fed up with her annoying presence and stifling perfume, I stood up, grabbing everyone's attention.
Damian looked slightly confused at my action but I ignored his gaze. Walking over, I fisted Bitch-ran's hair making her screech and claw at my hand.
I dragged her out of the dining room and headed straight for the front door. When I reached the door, I pulled it open and threw her out. Watching as she landed on all fours.
"Stay the fuck away from my house. Or else..." I said, my voice mixing in with Willow's. Her eyes widened as she stared at me but I had enough of her artificial face so I slammed the door on it.
Walking back to the room, I met with three surprised gazes and one excited one. "On my god! That was ah-mazing. You totally showed that Bitch." Arielle cheered.
"Yeah, nice work." Axel grinned
"We would've done it ourselves but Alpha would've bitten our ears off," Hudson said making Arielle hiss at him while Axel slapped the back of his head.
"What the hell guys?!"
Thanks to Bitch-ran, I've lost my hunger.
"Where's the gym?" I asked looking over towards Damian who was scrubbing his neck with a napkin. I felt a lot better when I realized it was the place Maya kissed. He rubbed it until the skin turned reddish before grunting in reply to my question and standing up.
I followed behind him as we walked out of the house through the kitchen backdoor. We crossed a mini fence and entered a backyard.
The place was huge. A giant pool was situated straight ahead with an equally large pool house behind it. On the right was what looked like a greenhouse which opened up to a sunroom.
The opposite side of the yard had a large brick building with a beautiful black and white gazebo next to it.
The large brick building must be a gym because that was where we were headed. The interior inside was cool and smooth.
The walls were a brick red and on the right side of the room, there was a living area with couches, a flat-screen, a giant freezer, and a door.
The left side on the other hand was every gym addict's dream. There were different machines ranging from the treadmill, weights, punching bags chained to the ceiling, and a lot more training pieces of equipment. Mats were placed on a straight row and I'm guessing that was where they spared or meditated. There was also a shelf with various boxing gloves and medical items.
Without wasting a second, I walked to the shelf and picked out an orange glove. Putting it on, I went to where the punching bag was and attacked the poor thing.
I used the bag as an outlet. Letting my worries, anger, jealousy, and confusion out. I alternated between punches and kicks, breathing in between each attack.
Lost in the rush of punches and kicks, I didn't notice him until he held the punching bag away from me.
"What?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"What was that back there?" He asked calmly. I hated that look on him.
"What was what?" I played dumb as I moved to another bag and continued punching.
"Don't act stupid with me." He growled, "Your eyes were pitch black and your growl was equal to an Al-" he was saying when I suddenly turned around and threw a punch at him.
"What the hell?" He said as he ducked and stepped back before glaring down at me.
"Spar with me." I simply said. He gave me a flat look in reply.
"What?" I frowned.
"I'm not doing that. Answer my question." He said, dodging the kick I sent at him.
"What question?" I replied as I gave another kick which he dodged. Again. It was annoying because he was not even fighting back.
"Fucking answer it. Don't play dumb when you don't look like it." He hissed, "And stop that!" He glared as I hit him again.
"Looks can be deceiving." I shrugged, I noticed how his gaze wavered for a second, "For all you know, I might be pretty stupid." Punch to the gut. Missed.
"I highly doubt that."
"Enough chit-chat. Fight me."
"I'm not fighting y-" he sighed as he rolled his eyes and I used that second and threw a kick to his side. Which connected.
"What the fuck?!" Damian hissed in surprise. I gave him an innocent smile.
"Looks can be deceiving," I said again.
"You sure you can take me on?" He asked skeptically.
"Try me," I said as I lunged forward. I've already got a grasp of his fighting style. He acts like he has his guard down when in actuality, he is using his sense of hearing, deceiving his opponent.
I first sent a punch to his jaw which he blocked before quickly throwing a side jab. Crouching low, I avoided it before swiping my feet out to trip him.
Instead of jumping back like I expected him to, he lunged towards me making me fall back as I was still in a low crouch. He retreated a few steps back making me glare at him.
He gave me a look that seemed to say that he was not taking this seriously. Scoffing, I got to my feet and used my strongest suit to my advantage.
Speed and agility.
Super speeding towards him, I made a move to punch his gut but at the last second, I dodged under his arms and reached behind him before sending a kick to his back. That sent him flying to the floor.
But he didn't fall. He used his arm to hold his weight up and did a summersault to get back on his toes.
"Not bad. You almost managed to trip me." He said lightly. Surprise showing in his gaze. Just as I was about to smirk he flew towards me in a blur and sent a punch to my arm which I managed to dodge. He gave me no room to retreat as his knee came towards my stomach.
Using Willow's agility, I jumped up and did a front flip so that I landed behind him. Without missing a beat, I used my strength and knock into him.
He staggered a bit but did not fall. I was growing frustrated. This reminded me of when I spared with Leo or Jasper.
He turned towards me, an impressed look in his eyes. "Speed and agility ey?" He asked making my brows raise. Of course, he had good observation skills.
Unlike someone I know.
Good to hear from you.
Sorry, I was making antibodies to fight that dosage of silver. Hopefully, the wound on the thigh should heal faster after that.
I didn't reply as I sent a roundhouse kick to his jaw but he caught my leg. Instantly, I felt the little tingles that ran from where he touched me.
Both of us stiffen slightly before he quickly let go of my leg and jumped back making me fall back on my ass because of the momentum.
I looked up at him to see him already staring at me. His fists were clenched and he seemed to be grinding his teeth.
The look in his eyes though...it was like he couldn't believe what was happening. It was the same look of bewilderment and disbelief. But there was also something else.
Denial.
Why did he push back? Why is he looking at us like that? Go to him! Willow whined, scratching at my mind.
Does he look like he wants us anywhere near him?
But...
I ignored her and stared at my mate who was currently looking at me blankly.
"I..." I started but stopped when he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Get off the floor." He snapped, shocking me. He had always used a calm tone when he spoke to me. This was a drastic change in attitude.
"Don't be such a prick, Damian." Arielle's voice suddenly came from behind us. She walked towards me before stretching her hands out.
"Thanks," I muttered as my eyes wandered to my mate who for some reason looked pissed off. Standing to my feet, I winced slightly at the burning sensation from my wound.
Looking down, I saw it bleeding making me frown. Must have opened up when I fell.
"That's so cool! Not even Hudson could last as long as you did when up against my brother." Arielle said with a huge grin.
"I've had lots of practice," I mumbled lowly.
"What's that?" She asked.
"Um, nothing." I smiled, "I took martial arts for a couple of years." I added which was not a lie.
I've been training with Sir Finn and my brothers for seven years now.
"Nice. I wish I could fight like you. I'm only good at strategy." she sighed.
"That's because you're a waste of space," Hudson said, appearing from god knows where.
That, or he might have been in the room all along. We all know my observation skill was...a work in progress.
Willow snorted making me roll my eyes.
"Do me a favor and beat him up will ya?" Arielle said looking over at me but I just shook my head, my mind elsewhere.
My eyes followed Damian as he walked to the leaving area and sat down after taking a can of beer, I think, from the freezer.
"Do the world a favour and go die under a rock," Hudson replied with a glare.
"Why you little shit mutt!" Arielle narrowed her eyes into silts as she stared at him.
"Shit mutt? Really? That's the best you could come up with?" Hudson laughed making her blush.
"Shut up dimwit!" She hissed but he just laughed harder.
"Aw, is little Ari blushing?" He smirked
"I swear I'll beat you up if you don't shut up!" She glared.
"You and what army?" he grinned.
"If you both don't shut the hell up and make out already, I'll throw you out!" Damian snapped from where he was sitting.
Hudson and Arielle sputtered in shock as they stared at him.
"Me? Kiss him?!"
"Me? Kiss her?!"
"Stop copying me!" They both exclaimed.
"No, you stop copying!!"
"Stop it!!!"
"Just confess your undying love to each other and kiss already," Axel said upon entering the gym. I chuckled as both Arielle and Hudson gaped at him.
"I saw the whole fight from the surveillance camera, you did great Morgan." Axel smiled making me grin at him.
He seemed taken aback before his smile widened as something flashed past his eyes, "usually, no one lasts more than twenty-five minutes when fighting with the Alpha. Not even us." He said, gesturing between Hudson and him.
"Thanks." I smiled and he nodded.
"You'll make a great Luna." He said with a proud gleam in his eyes. My eyes widened in surprise before a huge smile took over my face.
"Thank you," I whispered earnestly. He was the first person to acknowledge that I would be a great Luna and it meant a lot to me.
I like him. Willow said, smiling wolfishly.
I hummed in reply, still looking at him with a smile. I couldn't help but trail my eyes to my mate. He was looking straight ahead and ignoring us.
Willow whimpered lightly, I want to hold him.
Me too Willow. Me too. I sighed. I wish he would just let me.
I continued to stare at him while Hudson and Arielle started arguing about goddess knew what. I could feel Axel still staring at me and I turned to give him a small smile in return before looking back at Damian.
One second I was looking at him and the next, a sharp pain came from my gut making me double over.
It was so intense that it made me cry out the second time it came. Suddenly, I started coughing. I held onto my stomach as I threw up. Looking down, the color red met my sight.
Blood...
What's happening?!! Willow howled in pain. I continued coughing as Arielle and the rest called out my name in fear.
The next thing I knew, I was covered in my mate's scent as I met a solid chest.
"What's wrong?" He asked panicking but I was in too much pain to answer.
Suddenly, I felt another presence in my head. It was domineering and heavy as it pressed down and probed into the mind.
I twitched in pain as a scream tore through me before falling into darkness.
************************
"She's stirring!"
"Morgan?"
"Are you okay?"
Whose voices are these? I thought as I tried to open my heavy lids.
Finally managing to pry my eyes open, I looked up to a white ceiling.
"Morgan? Thank goddess you're awake! How are you feeling?" Shifting my gaze to the source of the voice, my eyes met worried hazel ones.
They were more greenish than brown.
When my throat felt too scratchy to talk, I gave a small nod.
"You had us worried there," Axel said as he came over to my side. He brushed the hair back from my face, his expression looking concerned.
I gave him a small smile which he returned. I looked around the room for a particular person but only saw the gray walls, two couches, a large window overlooking the yard, and a TV.
"He's in a conference meeting with one of the Alpha in the neighboring city," Axel said making me blush a little. He muttered something under his breath that sounded like 'so I said' or something along the lines of that.
Was it that obvious?
I suddenly felt something rising in my throat making me heave. And then I threw up. Because I was too drained to sit, I started choking.
Fortunately, Axel was quick to pull me up into a sitting position with my back leaning on his chest.
"Call the doctor!" He yelled but his voice seemed far away. My head started turning and from experience, I knew I was about to faint.
Again.
Looking up, my eyes met the pair of green orbs I've wanted to see since I opened my eyes. A smile came to my face and just as I raised my hands towards him, I blacked out.
****************
When I came through, it was to a white ceiling and an annoying beeping sound.
"Margaret, turn it off." I groaned, trying to move but something attached to my left hand stopped.
"Did you hit your head somewhere? Its Damian. Not Margaret." A husky and familiar voice said.
Damian was sitting by my side and looking through some papers when I looked over.
"Oh, hey," I mumbled.
He looked up at me before going to the bedroom to carry a bottle of water.
"Can you sit up?" He asked while putting the water into a cup. For a second, I considered saying no to see whether he would hold me up but changed my mind.
I would rather he does it out of his own choice.
"I'll manage," I answered before slowly sitting up. I grabbed the cup of water he was holding out and just as I reached out a fingertip to brush against his hand, he removed his fast.
He gave me a blank look before picking up the papers again
Ouch, so papers are more important than asking me how I was feeling huh?
"Who's Margaret?" He suddenly said. I looked towards him but he was still looking at the papers. Margaret was my maid back at the house.
But he doesn't need to know that just yet.
Why not?
Cause I don't feel like it's time yet.
"What time is it?" I asked instead of answering.
He looked up at me and asked again, "Who is Margaret."
"Margaret who?" I said making his eyes narrow at me.
"It's to five in the evening." He said.
My eyes opened in surprise as I slumped back into the bed.
"How long was I out for?" I whispered my mind running back to my family.
"Should be close to thirty-four hours." He answered.
Thirty-four hours?! And I wasn't even feeling the pain directly.
What the hell is happening back there?!
I really have no clue. I just hope they're all right and that Leo sends out Zephyr soon.
Yeah me too.
Opening my eyes, I met hazel ones filled with a little interest.
"What's wrong?" He asked, setting his papers down.
So now I'm more important ey?
"It's nothing." I brushed it off.
"Don't." He warned, his eyes going blank for a moment, "Stop evading my questions."
"What questions?" I asked sweetly. A part of me was pushing him to admit that I was his mate for him to accept me.
He doesn't even have to say it, just gives a sign of recognition.
"I thought I said to stop playing dumb when you aren't." He glared.
"Why should I answer any of your questions?" I asked instead, looking up at him in expectation.
"Because..." He trailed off and I pushed, no, asked him with my eyes to say it, "You're living in my pack. I should know what exactly I'm protecting you from." He said with an expressionless face.
I closed my eyes briefly, trying to gather myself. I don't want him to see how his answer made me feel.
Ever since I was a pup, I've always admired the bond between mates. Your important other. The one the moon goddess made especially for you.
I've always wanted to find mine. The one that I could fall in love with. The one who will never judge me no matter what, the one who gets me. Who would stand by me even if it meant going against the world and all that he stood for.
And I can finally find it. With this man sitting in front of me.
But he was not willing to say it. I don't know why, but he doesn't want to recognize me as his mate, his partner, and his Luna.
And that hurt.
I saw the way mates who just found each other acted. And it was nothing like this.
Something was holding him back. I didn't know what it was, but I was going to find out. Whatever it is.
Just accept him.
Hum?
If you just accept him, it'll snap the mate bond in place.
Oh. But is it stupid that I want him to be the one who accepts me? I want him to want to want me...does that make sense?
It does. At least to me, it does. It's not wrong to want your mate to want you, Cass. And I promise he will. Eventually. Even if we have to kidnap him to an isolated island where it's just the two of us.
I laughed at that. Willow would do it. She was awesome that way.
You're the princess of the werewolf species. Cassie Valtor is the second. You're your own master! The queen of your goddamn world! Go for it!
Thanks, Willow. What would I do without you? I grinned.
You'll never have to find out. She grinned with a wink. This wolf of mine.
I could feel his gaze on me and opening my eyes, I met his.
"So that's the only reason?" I asked flatly.
"Yeah." He growled with tightened jaw. I took a deep breath and nodded my head.
"Okay then," I said looking at him. He refused to meet my eyes, his eyes moving around the room.
Sitting up, I quickly reached out, using his averted gaze to my advantage, and grabbed hold of his collar.
He looked shocked at my sudden action while I just tugged him closer.
"What are y-" he started but sucked in a breath when I reached my right hand to cup his face.
The first thing I noticed was how smooth his face was and the second, I knew he felt it too. The tingles, the tiny waves of pleasure.
I looked into his hazel orbs, noticing for the second time the golden bits that were held captive in the neighborhood of the other two green and brown colors.
His eyes were incredibly beautiful.
"So you don't feel that?" I asked, my voice coming out softly.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" he snapped, staring at me. But, he didn't pull away.
"The tingles. You don't feel them?" I asked. He only looked at me coldly without saying a word.
"Well, I do. And you know why?" I whispered. He still looked at me the same.
"Because..." I whispered lightly, "You're my mate Damian." I finished making his body go rigid.
It was then that I felt it. The mate bond. It was like a thin thread that grew a bit thicker at my statement.
"Damian," I called out quietly. His body was hurt even more tightly.
For half a second, I felt him lean into my touch and saw his look as it searched mine. For what, I didn't know.
But just like that, he pushed away from me so fast you would think I had a plague or something.
"Arm-" I started but the hard glare he sent my way made the words stuck in my throat.
"Don't you ever say those meaningless and foolish things to me or anybody else in this pack, got that?!" He snarled making me flinch back.
"But it's-"
"Don't you fucking dare finish that. I am not your mate. I don't know what you feel but I'm not. Just because I let you stay in my pack, doesn't mean that I am!" He growled as he looked at me with anger.
"I-" I started when the door opened.
"Hey, Brother!" Arielle chirped, "Oh Morgan, you're awake!" She added when I met her gaze for a second.
I didn't reply, just shifted my look to Damian whose back was facing me.
"Are we interrupting something?" Hudson asked, no doubt noticing how tensed Damian looked.
"Oh um no." I said, "Where's Axel?" I said, trying to change the topic.
"He's out by the pack borders and handling some rogue situations," Hudson said.
"Rogues? Is everything alright?" I asked worriedly. Rogues were free wolves not bound by the rules of a pack or the werewolf council.
They were mostly werewolves who lost control of their animalistic traits leading them to fall out of balance and lose their mental control.
To put it simply, they were dogs, sadists. They liked hurting others. They lacked morals.
"Yep. It's nothing the pack warriors can't handle." He shrugged.
"Oh," I said.
"How are you feeling Morgan?" Arielle asked as she threw a side glance at Damian's back.
"I've been better," I said honestly. I might no longer be puking out blood but I was quite weak and hungry.
"The doctor said something about poisoning..." She started while looking at me with interest and worry, "with silver and...wolfsbane."
My eyes opened in shock.
Wolfs...bane?
Where the hell did that Lunatic get it from??! That stuff was illegal in the werewolf world.
You don't think...the pain from earlier...
No, he wouldn't... I trailed off in disbelief.
He used it on you. He even... She trailed off and I didn't need her to say it. I could read her thoughts.
I don't even know why I was surprised. That man got through the palace's security like it was nothing. We didn't even know that there was an attack until...
Yeah. He had inside help though. He had to.
"Morgan? How did you get silver and wolfsbane in your bloodstream? You know that stuff is dangerous to us right?" Arielle asked softly, her eyes filled with worry.
"I... it..." I stuttered not knowing how to answer.
Tell them.
What? That I'm a princess who ran away from home because her jealous uncle killed her...you know.
Yes.
Not a good opportunity...do you think they'll believe that?
I rolled my eyes at her before answering her the way I answered Damian back in his room, "I ran into some trouble back in the Royal City."
"R-royal city?? That's where you got poisoned?" Arielle cried out. Hudson was also currently staring at me while Damian still faced away from us.
"Um yeah. I managed to escape though." I mumbled.
"The doctor said that the wound on your thigh still needs a few more weeks to heal. But he gave you something that annuls the silver." Arielle said lightly.
"Oh," I answered not knowing anything else to reply with.
"Yeah..." she said.
"What kind of trouble?" Hudson suddenly asked. I met his curious stare and internally sighed. He sure knew how to catch the idea.
"Um, I'll tell you later. I'm sort of tired right now." I said.
Not a good chance again? Willow rolled her eyes as she said.
I just chose to ignore her.
"Morgan?" Arielle called out loudly.
"Hum? Oh sorry. I was talking to my wolf." I said with a light flush.
"Really? Can I meet her?!" She asked excitedly.
Can I? Willow said, I haven't been out for a while now.
Not a good idea. You're a white wolf. That's a dead giveaway. You should focus on fixing the damage that the silver and wolfsbane did.
But-
No, Willow. Too risky.
"You can but not now. I'm tired and hungry." I said and as if called, my gut let out a small cry.
"Okay, sure." Arielle laughed, "But I'm taking a rain check on that." She added making me smile.
"No problem." I grinned.
"Awn, your dimples are so deep." Hudson grinned, "you know-"
"Shut the fuck up, Hudson!" Damian, who I almost forgot was standing there, stopped him.
Okay, I didn't forget he was there...
"Sorry Alpha," he said with his head bowed while Arielle had her eyes closed.
He used his Alpha tone no doubt. I didn't have to bow because I had Alpha King blood running through my veins else I would've joined them.
I looked from Hudson's bowed head to Damian who continued to glare at him with raised brows.
"Know what?" I asked.
"None of your business!" He snapped, his glare now pointed at me.
"Oh, but it is mate dearest," I said in a matter-of-fact tone which made his glare increase.
"I fucking told you to stop calling me that! I am not your mate!"
"Maybe I just don't care what you say." I shrugged. He glowered at me.
"You fucking-"
"Uh-uh, dearest Damian. That's no way to speak to me." I smiled, loving the way his handsome features changed into a scowl.
"You're in my goddamn pack! I can speak to you however the hell I want!" He growled in anger. His golden eyes were a deep brown now, the green nowhere in sight.
"I might be. But you're not my Alpha." I grinned.
"I could fucking throw you out of here!" He growled but I just smiled at him.
"Nah, you wouldn't," I said firmly with a small grin.
He gritted his teeth as he glared at me but I just leaned back on the bed. Hudson and Arielle still had their heads bowed making me frown.
"You're impossible!" He snapped before rushing out.
"Sorry about my brother. He's usually less involved." Arielle said after a while.
"Meaning?" I asked with a frown.
"Oh forget it. Let's get you some food." She said.
"I could eat." I nodded with a frown.
"Great! Let's go then." She responded before walking out of the room.
"I'll show you around later." She threw it behind her back. As I stood up, I felt a wave of fatigue hit my body and I almost slumped but Hudson caught my elbow.
That thing, whatever it was, really got to me...
"You okay?" He asked worriedly and I nodded.
"Just a bit fatigued," I answered.
"Hum. Let's head out then." Hudson said, "Want me to carry you?" He asked again.
The worry in his words made me feel warm inside as I shook my head in encouragement. Even though I shook my head, he still wrapped his arm around my waist to support me.
Exiting the room, we came into a hallway with four other doors apart from the one we left, on the right side of the room. The left was an open area with a door at the middle of the far wall which we were headed to.
The door led outside what I assumed to be the hospital garden. There were different doors like the one we left from organized in the form of a circle. Resting chairs and tables were spread around the yard where I saw a few patients sitting.
"Nice," I said.
"Hum." Hudson answered, "Wait till you see the entire pack."
"Yeah? How many square hectares is the pack by the way?"
"Three and a half." He smirked making me whistle quietly.
"Neat." I nodded in appreciation to which he just grinned.
"There are houses, schools, six large hospitals at both ends of the pack with more than thirty clinics and pharmacies in between for convenience's sake." He listed, "And the pack houses of course."
Just because we had improved healing skills, it doesn't mean we didn't get sick. It was rare but supernaturals also had illnesses that plagued them.
I remember hearing my Dad, Leo, and Jasper talking the research centers and medical school built and supported by MKS Holdings to help in the study and knowledge of magical genes and illnesses.
It was the biggest wolf-owned company in the entire kingdom, second only to my family's Royale industries. Instead of saying it was second, it was more true to say we had different fields of skill.
It made sense that they had a lot of hospitals in the pack with thought to their size.
"Wow." I smiled, "you have to tour me on this place."
Living in the palace itself, there weren't a lot of things that could amaze me. Size, beauty, and glamour, I had seen it all. But I found myself feeling curious about this separate city-like pack.
We walked out of the hospital together with Arielle and came upon a paved highway that went far and wide. The road was two-way with seats and street lights on either side.
The pack seemed more like a normal city than a real pack.
"No problem." He answered with a nod.
"Can I ask a question?" I asked.
"You just did." He grinned and I rolled my eyes, "What is it?"
"The pack, it isn't like the rest. It's so...different."
"Oh, that's all thanks to our grandfather."
"Alpha Martel?" I asked a bit shocked. Alpha Martel mostly stayed out of the public's eye. Even though the pack hadn't hit the place of number one, it was still amongst the top five in the world.
Not much was known about him. Only the fact that his mate was a demon or something. But it was all gossip and stuff so I wasn't too sure.
"Grandpa was an engineer." Arielle spoke up, "Even though he grew up in luxury and could've afforded to live his life comfortably without working, he wanted to. He especially loved creating stuff so he made the pack his project."
"His parents didn't approve at first but when they saw the pack, they were pleased that they didn't exhaust his talent by locking him away in the office instead," Hudson added.
"I can see why."
"We'll tour you later. Let's get back to Damian's first. He said to bring you there." Arielle said making me beam at her.
"He did?" I asked with a small grin.
"Hum." She nodded, "Now let's head over. You had a long two days."
"Tell me about it," I answered as we headed to where I thought Damian's place was.
