Sniffing the air again, I hummed in satisfaction as the smell of my mate drifted into my nose. I laid back down and sunk into the comfy bed.
Willow?
I'm here.
The presence of our brother and sisters, doesn't it feel fainter?
Uhuh, it does...what happened to them?
I don't know...but let's not worry. Leo and Jasper are there so I'm sure they're fine.
Yeah. You're right. Willow sighed and we went quiet for a bit. Each of us enjoying the smell of our mate no doubt. When I remembered how he had been shaking me up and down when I was naked on the floor, my face flushed in embarrassment.
He looked so tall looming over us like that. I would've-
Goddess help me! Willow! What is wrong with you?! I shouted in frustration as my face grew hotter.
What? I have a right to say that. The stupid wolf grinned.
Well, say it to yourself then! Don't go around sharing those kinds of ideas in my head!! I exclaimed.
Prude! She huffed but I ignored her, And the hell kind of sense of direction was that? If mate hadn't found us, gods knows what would have happened!
Oh shut up. Yes, something would've happened. But it's because I knew our mate was gonna show up, that's why I went there.
What do I look like to you? An idiot? Your sense of direction was crap as usual.
Well, my crap sense of direction found our mate, I don't see your observation skills doing that.
See, you said it yourself! Your sense of direction is crap! How can both your observation skills and sense of direction be off??
I don't feel the need to answer that. I simply said as I looked around my mate's room.
The roof was high and white with a crystal chandelier at the center. The bed seemed to be on a raised platform with two oak-brown end drawers on either side. To the right was a sitting area with three sets of comfortable-looking coffee brown chairs and two black love seats. A center table was placed in the middle of the chairs.
The set of sofas faced away from me and looked towards a huge flat-screen TV with two large floor-to-ceiling windows facing the forest on either side of it. Beside it was a glass door with clear curtains going to the deck.
To my right were two white doors going to a bathroom and maybe a closet. The walls were bare and white with elaborate black patterns at the bottom, top, and sides whilst the floor was wooden and shiny. All in all, the room was simple yet classy and beautiful and I find myself enjoying the structure of it.
Hey, what do you think our story should be? I don't like that we're lying to our mate but you're right. Something about his lack of excitement doesn't feel right.
Just as I was about to answer her, one of the doors to my left opened and instantly, the intoxicating smell of my mate flooded my senses.
Turning my head toward his direction, I saw him standing in front of the door while looking up at me with that same calm gaze as before. There was also a hint of...bewilderment?...in his eyes as he continued to stare at me.
I took in his perfect features and once again, I was surprised at how good-looking he was.
"You're awake." He said lightly as my eyes trailed down his muscular chest to his sculpted eight packs and the towel around his waist.
That was when I noticed that he was dripping wet as my gaze zeroed in on the drops of water rolling down his body.
Humm, the things I would do to that chest. Willow purred again making my eyes snap to his chest once again. The fact that his skin was a little dark and tan is not helpful either.
"You done checking me out yet?" My mate's voice suddenly said and I snapped out of whatever trance I was in. I quickly removed my gaze from his chest to his face which held a small smirk while his eyes shined with laughter.
"Wa...I wasn't checking you out." I huffed but my flushed face was not helping my case.
"Oh?"
"Uhuh, I was just looking at the door behind you. Not your chest." I grumbled before cringing at what I had just said.
"But I didn't say you were looking at my chest. I said checking me out." his smirk grew a bit.
"I don't feel the need to answer that," I said one of my signature evasive lines, folding my arms.
He only rolled his eyes before going inside the door beside the one he came out from. A few seconds later, he appeared with a black open shirt and a form-fitting gray trousers.
Willow purred in appreciation at the sight of him and I could feel my heart trembling too.
"So, what's your name?" He asked with a raised brow, "Why were you wandering in my territory when you're not a rogue?" He asked.
"Apparently she has a wicked sense of direction," Willow said out loud making my eyes widen. I hated it whenever she used my voice to say things so suddenly. It was like my mouth rushed before my brain caught up.
My mate looked at me with wrinkled brows. He probably thought I was a crazy person.
"That was my wolf. She likes doing that sometimes." I quickly explained.
"Your sense of direction must be crap then. You didn't notice the scent around the area?" He asked simply making me groan. I can see Willow smiling in my head.
"Her observation skills are also way off," Willow called out again.
Damn you Willow!
He looked at me with a slight smile making me roll my eyes while Willow gave a wolfy grin.
"My crappy sense of direction and observation skills did bring us together," I grumbled, noticing how he tensed slightly.
"Your name?" He asked again, ignoring what I hinted about us being mates.
"Oh um, I'm M...m...Morgan! Yes! Morgan, that's what I am called and not any other name..." I stuttered, trailing off with a nervous laugh towards the end.
Real smooth.
Shut up!
He looked at me with a raised brow before deadpanning, "Morgan? Your name is Morgan?"
"Of course! What, are you like those kinds of biased people who think Morgan is only a male name?" I answered. He only shrugged in return.
"Well then Morgan, my name is Damian. Alpha of the Silvermoon pack." He said making my eyes widen in shock.
What are you so shocked about? You knew the only pack we ran a risk of running into was the SilverMoon pack.
Yes, I know. But that guy called him Alpha, this means that our mate is the Alpha of the biggest pack. In probably the whole world!
He also just said that. She rolled her eyes, I still fail to see your point. You're the only white wolf in the world. Who did you expect your mate to be? Some common wolf? This levels everything out. SilverMoon is the only pack on almost the same level or par with the royal army. If anyone has a chance of having a fair fight with the army, it's them.
Yeah, you're right. I drawled.
"I...wow," I said. Both happy and shocked. My brothers would be so happy knowing who my mate was. They would be relieved too. Our fighting chances have also improved. A lot.
I could see the proud and satisfied look on my mate's-Damian's-face when he saw my awed expression.
"Alpha Damian," I called out, hating my voice for coming out shaky.
"That's right princess." He smirked making my eyes widen in fear.
"What do you mean b-by prin-princess? I'm just the daughter of a common wolf! I'm no princ-princess. Why do you say that?" I stuttered in a panic while he stared at me with a blank look on his face.
Do you think my stammer gave me away?! He's not moving. I'm a bad lair...he must know that I am-
"I meant that as a nickname." He stopped my mental babbling.
"Oh! I knew that?" I said nervously.
"Sure you did." he sighed, "you still haven't answered my question about what you were doing in my territory."
"Oh, that. Well, you see..." I trailed off, racking my brain for an excuse, "I...I ran into trouble! Yes, I was in trouble and I escaped but then ended up here." I said.
That's a good one. You didn't lie to him too.
Yeah...I know.
"Trouble? What kind of trouble?" he asked, "And where from? Are they those rogues who hurt you?" He growled out.
"From the royal city. And no, they aren't the rogues who hurt me. I ran into the rogues by accident. I didn't even know that I was on your land." I said, "But I'm glad I did." I added, softly looking into his eyes.
Something flashed past his eyes before he averted his look.
"You should go and shower. I'll lay an outfit for you." He said in a blank tone before going back into the closet.
Why does he always change the topic when you bring up the mates thing? Willow frowned.
Beats me. I shrugged before standing up to my feet. I was still dressed in the shirt Damian gave me. It smelled like him. Looking down, the cut on my ankle seemed all healed up whilst the one on the thigh looked the same. Sighing, I walked slowly to the bathroom.
The bathroom was a big difference to the bedroom. The walls were an electric blue and tiles. A big bathtub was in the middle of the room and to the far left was a square-headed shower stand surrounded by frosted glass and a toilet a few feet away from it.
On the left was a double sink with a wide mirror raised a few inches on top of it. There were rows of shelves beside the skink made up of the same oak wood as the ones in the bedroom. A door was placed on the right side of the wall and I guessed it went to the walk-in closet.
Besides the huge tub, there seemed to be a marble table where different bath oils and shower gels were kept, and next to it was a tall rack where towels and blankets were hung.
Walking towards the sink, I saw a red toothbrush still in its pack, a sponge, and a bottle of bath oil. After brushing my teeth, I went to the shower area and turned it on. After making the water hot enough to my liking, I stepped under the spray and completely soaped and washed my body, ignoring the sting coming from my wound.
When I was through, I wrapped a blue towel around my frame and walked out of the bathroom. The room was empty when I entered but the bed was nicely made and a pile of clothes was put on top.
After drying myself, I put on the clothes which consisted of a black skin tight and a baby pink tank top with some undergarments. I blushed at the thought of Damian picking out underwear for me.
I wonder where he got a set of female clothes from. They were a bit tight on my figure. But not so tight that it became uncomfortable.
Just as I finished dressing, a door opened and the smell of my mate filled me up. Looking back, I saw him coming in from a door that was at the far front of the room from the bed.
I watched as he came towards me while his eyes raked over my figure.
"The clothes are a bit tight on you." He said gruffly making me shiver.
"They're comfortable." I shrugged and he nodded.
"Let's get you something to eat." He said. Ever since I woke up, he's been making little moves to take care of me. His tone was low and soft whenever he spoke to me. But I felt like there was a barrier between us. Whenever he does these things, it feels more like a duty than a mate caring for his other half.
Not to mention the space he always puts between us and...the lack of physical touch.
"Humm," I said. Just as we started towards the door, it burst open and the guy with the baby blue eyes rushed in.
"Alpha, get your ass downstairs and tell your crazy-as-hell sister to lay off my babies!" The guy shouted making me laugh.
"Don't use that tone with me." Damian growled making baby Blue open his eyes, "and get out! You know how I feel about people in my space." He added.
"But Alpha." The guy whined but Damian just glared at him.
"Fine. But you better come down or I won't be the only one burying a body." He growled and nodded at me before walking off.
"Cute," I mumbled with a smile that fell off when I heard Damian snarl. When I looked at him though, there was nothing but blankness on his face causing me to wonder whether I dreamed it.
"Let's go down." He said before going out the door. I quietly followed behind, enjoying the muscles of his back as they flexed with his every step.
We walked down a hallway and a flight of stairs when suddenly, I heard a female voice screaming.
"So help me, Axel! Why the hell do you have to keep your concoctions right next to my fruits?! It's always contaminating my things!"
"Oh shut up! Where else am I supposed to keep it then?"
"Gee, I don't know, how bout the rest of the five fucking empty rows in the freezer?!" The female voice snapped and just then, we entered an open cooking space.
My eyes quickly fell on the two forms in the room. It was the same guy with baby blue eyes and standing next to him was a girl with blonde hair and greenish Arielle eyes.
"Nah, the shelf you put your fruits on freezes faster." blue eyes...um, Axel said with a glare.
"Oh, my fucking...! It's literally the same thing! They all get the same amount of...I don't know...cold?!" The blonde girl asked with frustration. Just as Axel was about to speak, Damian stopped him.
"I thought I fucking told you guys that when you enter my house, without my consent, to not freaking disturb me with your pointless squabbles."
"Oh hey, brother." She smiled, "Your stupid ass Gamma is the one causing all the ruckus!" The girl glared before she looked at me.
Her eyes narrowed on me making me frown. "Who's the slut? One of your fuck toys?" She said while looking at me in annoyance.
"Arielle!" Damian and Axel hissed.
I could feel Willow growling in my head. Both from the rudeness and the fact that Damian sleeps around. I just stared at her for a second before turning to look at my mate.
Feeling my eyes on him, he turned to meet my gaze only for his eyes to widen from the glare I was sending his way.
"You sleep around?" I asked quietly. My voice was flat with an undertone of hidden anger and jealousy.
He seemed taken aback for a minute whilst I continued to glare at him. He made no sign of answering my question whatsoever. Only continued to stare at me.
Willow tried to take control but I stopped her. She was itching to know his answer. The thought of other females seeing the body of her perfect mate, touching and kissing him, and goddess forbid even being connected with him in the closest way possible made her seethe in rage and jealousy. And the same goes for me.
Even if they were all before he found me. The thought of him not waiting for me was...
But I knew he was an Alpha. And all his wants and feelings were more heightened as compared to other dogs.
Still...
"Hum, you're okay." Arielle suddenly said snapping my attention to her, "Usually, that's the cue to blush and say you're someone special to him." She added with a snot.
"Oh, I am special to him alright," I said, staring at my mate who seemed aloof right now.
"Don't worry. He might be annoying but he has a severe case of mysophobia. If a female so much as touches his clothes, he freaks out." The girl laughed while Damian looked at her but didn't comment.
I quickly felt relief and even Willow settled back down. It felt great to know he was very particular about his body.
Arielle laughed again before running her gaze over my frame. "Woah." She said looking at me.
"What?" I asked but she just continued to stare, "Do I have toothpaste on my chin? I knew I should've brushed before bathing." I said, mumbling the last part.
"Geez Arielle, if you continue to stare, you'll creep her out and scare her away." Axel rolled his eyes. That seemed to snap her out of her dream.
She glared at Axel before looking at me, "Sorry about the staring thing, I was just trying to see you." She said making me frown.
"Um see me?" I asked confusedly but she just waved her hand at me in rejection.
"Never mind that. I'm Arielle. Your mate's sister." she smiled surprising me a little. If she knew I was his mate then why did she...
"Don't look so surprised, I bet you couldn't tell 'cause I'm the good-looking sibling." She winked.
I noticed the way Damian's hands tightened when she said she was my mate's sister.
"Um no. That's not it..." I trailed off. She only smiled at me but the look in her eyes told me she knew exactly what I wanted to say.
"Okay Arielle, quit hogging the Luna-" Axel started when he was stopped.
"What the heck did I tell you?!" Damian growled, staring at him. He threw him a sheepish look before looking towards my raised brows. I wonder what he told him...
"-I wanna say hi too!" He finished before pushing Arielle to the side.
"My name's Axel Michaelson, the Gamma of the pack." He said with a proud grin making me smile in return.
"Hey, I'm Morgan Green," I said easily, remembering the nickname of one of the characters in some movie that I watched.
"What the hell Axel?" Arielle said staring at him.
"Don't start with your annoying voice again." Axel rolled his eyes.
"Annoying?!" She screamed as she glared at him.
"Yes, annoying. I don't want you scarring Morgan." He said.
"She's my family now! It's none of your business if I scar her!"
"As Gamma, it is my business. And seeing as I have more authority over you, you better put a sock in it."
"What nonsense are you saying? As the Alpha's sister, I have more authority over you!"
"You clearly don't understand how hierarchy works you twat!" Axel glared.
"It's you who doesn't seem to get it, you dimwit!" Arielle stared right back at him.
"Dip-shit!" he said.
"Crazy ass!"
"Monkey ass!"
"Buffoon!"
"Stupid bitch!"
"Man whore!"
"Slut!
"Shit face!"
"Shit hole!"
"Ass-"
"Will you both shut the fuck up?!" Damian snapped in anger. 'He did have people who drove him nuts after all.' I thought with a small grin which slipped off my face when I remembered my brothers.
I hope they are doing okay...
Both Arielle and Axel opened their mouth to complain but one glare from Damian shut them up.
"Sorry, you had to see that Morgan. It's my mouth's natural response to his annoying presence." Arielle said with a lovely smile.
"Shut. Up." Damian stopped Axel when he opened his mouth.
"But she..." He trailed off when he saw the look on his Alpha's face. I shook my head at them with a smile.
They were nothing like the stories made them out to be. Apparently, they were a pack of insane bloodhounds that killed people who even looked at their shadows wrong. And the thing they said about the Alpha...
I chuckled at the thought making Damian look towards me. Just then, the door at the back of the kitchen opened and a guy with brown hair and green eyes walked in with a bunch of white nylons in hand.
"Morning." He chirped, "I brought food!"
"Yes! Man, you're the best." Axel grinned as he dived for one of the white nylon.
"Oh no you don't!" Arielle said while reaching out and holding the back of his neck.
"Let go you witch!" He said loudly.
"No way! You're not finishing our food again!"
"It's okay Ari, I got him separately." The guy said while holding up one of the nylon in his hand. Diverting his look, he suddenly met my eyes and I saw the surprise and interest in his.
"Thanks, man! At least someone has a good brain." Axel said, throwing a side glare at Arielle who rolled her eyes.
"Just set up the damn table." Damian sighed as he leaned on the counter, pointing with his head for me to come towards him.
I walked over and stood next to him. I could feel the heat coming off him. The little space he added between us also did not go ignored.
"Hey, cutie, name's Hudson. What's yours?" He-Hudson-winked. Immediately, his eyes glazed over. He was mind-linking someone and sure enough, the same look was on Damian's face.
When his eyes cleared, he looked over at me in shock and confusion. Why do they keep looking at me with that same expression all the time after mind-linking?
"Morgan," I said. My fake name felt easy to say now.
"That's a lovely name." Hudson smiled. I felt bad for him praising the name but I gave a tight smile anyway.
"Thanks. I like yours too." I said with a real smile this time around. It was true that I liked his name. I used to have a crush on my close cousin when I was younger. His name is Hudson too.
Hudson grinned at me. I sensed the brief glare Damian sent my way before shifting his gaze.
"The table is set," Arielle called out from the room next door and we all walked over there before taking our places.
I sat down beside Damian with Axel next to me. Arielle and Hudson sat opposite us. Arielle served us all and we started eating in quiet.
"This is good," Axel said with his mouth full.
"Don't talk with your mouth full!" Both Arielle and I shouted.
All their eyes moved to me in surprise before Arielle grinned while Damian and Hudson rolled their eyes. Axel on the other hand just shrugged.
"Finally! Someone who gets it!" Arielle said with a grin. I said it out of habit as a result of living with Leo and Jasper.
"My brother and cousin always do that when they are eating. And it's not like what they want to say can't wait until they swallow the food." I said, "It's disgusting."
"I know what you mean." Arielle rolled her eyes. We continued eating in quiet after that.
My mind went to my brothers again. I wondered when Leo was going to send out Zephyr.
When do you think we can tell Damian? Willow suddenly asked.
When he recognizes that I'm his mate and snaps the mate link into place.
Is it going to take a while then?
Depends on him...it's his call. He doesn't even let me close enough to touch him.
Willow sighed before going quiet. Suddenly, the door opened followed by the sound of heels clacking against the granite floor. I saw Arielle scowl while Hudson and Axel sighed. Damian just rolled his eyes and ran his hand through his hair.
Interesting reactions. Just then, the heels sounded closer than before. "Damian baby! I missed you so much!" A female voice said sweetly making me cringe.
What the hell?
The female ran to Damian and put her hands around his neck from behind before kissing his neck.
What. The. Hell??!/
I haven't even touched him yet and this mutt had her paws all over him??
A growl slipped out of my mouth making all of them look towards me with wide eyes. Except for Damian and Arielle. The latter looked excited. The former on the hand seemed to not give a damn which pissed me off the more.
"Who the hell is this she-wolf?! And why the hell does she have her hands on what's mine?!" I growled in an arrogant tone.
I knew my eyes were pitch black and my growl too strong to belong to a normal wolf but I didn't give a damn.
Some female had her hands on my mate and I was fucking boiling with jealousy.
