Chapter 2 Rogues

Sylvia's POV

I closed my eyes as I bit my lips tightly between my teeth as the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. I would leave here no matter what and show them that I was no weakling nor worthless being. I was more important to myself, and I couldn't let them tear me down.

Standing up from the ground with wobbling legs as determination filled within me, I took a step forward with my fists clenched, I took one step at a time, but it was already getting darker and the sky was covered with black curtains. I could barely see anything because of how dark it was and the tears that kept wetting my eyes only made my vision blurry.

Nevertheless I kept walking, being lost in deep thoughts. As the full moon hung low in the sky casting an eerie glow over the forest, I sensed a shift in the air. The normally tranquil sounds of the woodland creatures were replaced by a haunting silence that sent shivers down my spine.

My senses were on high alert as I scanned the darkness for any sign of danger. I glanced around when it felt like something was moving around the bushes. I could barely see anything, and it was even worse that I was wolfless. Something told me that it might be rogues that had been waiting for the unfortunate person to fall into their trap.

It scared me more because I was the alpha's daughter, a trophy in their possession. Suddenly, a guttural growl shattered the silence, causing me to whirl around to face the threat. Emerging from the shadows, a massive werewolf stepped into the moonlight, its eyes burning with a feral hunger that chilled me to the bone.

The beast's fur bristled with menace as it bared its razor-sharp teeth, its claws glinting in the pale light. I didn't know how, but I found myself running with no place in mind. I tripped and fell on branches as it became difficult for me to see. I knew that I was venturing deeper into the forest and no sane person would come this far.

I had left the Pack's territory, which equally meant that I was doomed. Enraged, the werewolf lunged towards me, its massive form hurtling through the underbrush with unnatural speed. I barely had time to dodge out of the way, the beast's claws grazing her arm.

My eyes widened in shock when I belatedly realized that I had been surrounded by werewolves. I could tell from the color of their eyes that glimmered in the dark that they were omegas from my pack. But why were they attacking me? I wondered as I moved back instinctively when they stepped forward towards me.

Their eyes showed their clear intentions, which scared me the most. My heart raced with adrenaline, my mind calculating my distance from them. I struggled to stand on my shaking feet as I glanced around me, alarmed by the situation.

Suddenly, one of them struck without waiting for me to balance myself. I was thrown to the ground and the next thing I felt was pain, excruciating pain that felt like something was being stabbed into my arms and stomach.

Opening my eyes slightly, I saw the wolf's claws buried into my arms. I tried to move, but the wolf remained rigid and just when I was about to scream out in extreme pain, the wolf moved away from me. I probed myself up, using my elbows, but I felt unmeasurable pain.

My limbs felt numb and I could feel the numbness spreading to some parts of my body. I slowly stopped up and tried to stabilize myself as the pain intensified. The others took the opportunity to start attacking. I fell on my knees when I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. My limp body fell on the ground lifelessly, my eyes were about to close, unable to take the brutality.

Moving closer to a tree with much difficulty, I stared at them as I leaned my upper body against a tree. I watched them with my half closed eyes. I could see one of them stepping towards me, and soon he rushed towards me, planning to end me for good.

The moon dipped lower in the sky, casting a final glimmer of silver light over the forest. I closed my eyes instinctively, waiting for the unbearable pain to come, but nothing happened, and instead I heard a growl. With my heart beating in my ears, I slowly opened my eyes and was surprised to see something moving really fast in the forest and all I could hear now were sounds of bodies falling to the ground.

Then a haunting silence descended over the clearing as the creatures let out a final, mournful howl, their form shifting and contorting until all that remained were men, naked and vulnerable in the moonlight.

Everywhere became oddly quiet. I was perplexed by what just happened and was about to move away from the tree when suddenly a hand came around my shoulders and another at the back of my knees before I got swept off my feet, into strong arms.

I tried to move, but a yelp erupted from my lips as the pain became unbearable. Soon I relaxed and unknowingly fell asleep in the stranger's arms as the smell I perceived added to it like a sleeping drug. I felt my back touch something soft, then his arms around me loosened. I heard footsteps moving around before it stopped. Did the person leave?

I painstakingly opened my eyes as I became curious. I noticed the candles that were burning in the wooden building. The smell of the place was enough for me to know that it was an abandoned building.

Soon the footsteps continued and stopped just beside me. I looked up and was startled to see the godlike creature in front of me. My eyes tried to capture his whole expression as I absorbed the details of his face.

I gulped subconsciously when he stood there right above me while glancing down at me, making me feel vulnerable. He looked so magnificent that I found it hard to tear my gaze off his remarkable face.

The handsomeness he possessed made me gape until he gradually leaned down without taking his eyes off me as he studied me with his mesmerizing eyes that burned into mine. He furrowed my brows, and soon something wet touched my forehead. The coolness of the piece of cloth on my head made me relax.

I started feeling sleepy as he continued to clean the blood on me gently. My eyes opened slowly when he was done. There he was staring at me with an unfathomable look in his beautiful eyes. His hazel eyes gleamed in the dim light.

Looking back at him I held his gaze, finding it incredible that someone like him could ever exist. I had never seen any man this good-looking, or maybe he wasn't just any man because I could feel a strong aura emanating from him.

Slowly he leaned over again and this time our breath mixed. My breathing came out in shallow panting. I felt a brush of his lips when he moved closer, and my toes curled in response, feeling a tingling sensation as they brush over mine again, almost as if he was teasing me. Before I could comprehend a thing, he was already kissing me passionately.

His hand went to my nape as he deepened the kiss. He nibbled on my lips and I instinctively opened up for him, giving him access to take a delve into my mouth as he ventured deep with his tongue. We finally parted, and our heavy breathing and the beating of my heart was the only sound in the quiet room.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as he caressed my face with the back of his hand. His rich and soothing voice felt soft and pleasant in my ears. It brought butterflies to my stomach. I faintly smiled at him to reassure him of my state.

Suddenly, his eyes darkened with a glint that both terrified me and inflamed me as I anticipated his next move.
