Chapter 2 Divorce [Trish's POV]

I couldn't believe it when my hand connected with James' face. The look on his face, I think it mirrored mine as I was just as shocked. I was never one to fight back or even believed in violence, but for the first time – as far as I can remember, I hit someone, and that person was my husband.

I didn't want to lose my nerves of steel now, so I continued staring into his eyes.

"I don't believe anything you say to me James because no wife should've walked in on her husband in that situation. I have told you how I have felt about your 'friendship with Evie' and how uncomfortable it has made me feel. She has undermined our relationship every chance she has gotten, and those chances were given by you."

"That's not true Trish and she's only a friend," he countered.

"Then why was your friend in your lap James?!" I waited for his reply to see how he could justify it.

"She's just a family friend and has been around my family since we were in high school. She's best friends with my sister and you know it Trish." The ridiculous excuse of why this woman was in his lap made me laugh out like a madwoman. How could he not see that it was wrong?

"James, if you can't see that you were wrong, then there's no point continuing this discussion," I said in the sternest voice I could muster, and he tried to wrap me in his arms. I tried to fight as hard as I could to get away, but my husband was a big man and stronger than me. He cooed me and apologised but that meant nothing to me now.

Realising I wasn't going to be set free, I stopped resisting. There was no point wasting energy to get out of his hold, I'd only be wasting my time.

"I love you Trish and I'll never love anyone else the way I love you," he pushed my hair out the way and tried to raise my chin for a kiss, one I prevented. The look on his face spoke volumes and he wasn't happy, but I didn't care. "I'll make this right Trish, I promise. I'll have her apologise to you."

"Have her apologise, are you kidding me James?" I asked at his ridiculous suggestion. The last thing I wanted was to get an apology from her. The woman that knew he was married and did what she did. The woman that was in love with my husband and my husband was too oblivious to see it.

"I want nothing from her."

"Then what do you want to fix this?" he asked and the only response I had rocked his world.

"A divorce James."
