Chapter 5 My wife doesn't like it

Inside the house nana Grace told the same story and they were shocked and Robert told Curtis "now that you're married , can you just stop being hostile towards me " hearing this, Curtis stood up to leave but his mother begged him to stay , seeing this , javis was furious "leave, why do you always act like you're better than everyone " then Robert calmed javis down and there was a screaming match then Curtis suddenly said "I'd rather die than forgive you for what you did " looking at Robert then left immediately

When he went outside he called Ava over and they left immediately leaving Ava in a confused state , he drove like a mad man before stopping to calm down leaving Ava terrified , suddenly, Curtis began crying , Ava was shocked and didn't know what to do but tried calming Curtis down , patting him on the back didn't work because it continued so she came out of the car to the driver's seat, opened it and hugged him,the tears Continued for a few minutes before it stopped then she started with the pat at the back once more and assuring him that it was all okay . She was shocked that an almighty ceo was in her arms crying but then again it was her husband .

She asked him what happened but he refused to talk about it and she didn't push it , he ended up driving to a Garden field , they both came down from the car and went inside , the scenario was so Good that Ava was getting filled up looking at the different flowers , they made their way to a hidden section and the view looked like it came out a fairytale leaving Ava teary, they both sat down and Curtis was quiet looking at the surrounding then Ava spoke up "Curtis , do you have a lover?" She was really curious to know , Curtis was taken aback and looked at her "what?"

"The other night I saw you in the lounge talking to someone, is she your lover?" Curtis now understood why she asked and said No "she's my childhood friend that just came back from the states" she replied with an oh and got up to look around after a few minutes, Curtis got up to join her and named each and every one of them , Ava was amazed at how intelligent he was .

After Identifying the plants they went back to the bench to sit down and Curtis suddenly asked about her parents, "my mom actually died when I was 8 and its just been me and my Dad ever since, He's great you know " Ava said with a little tear "He'll always tell me stories about my mom and how our resemblance was unbelievable " she let out a small laugh . . .

Curtis looked at her , raised her chin and cleaned her tears then hugged her while she Lamented about missing her father . Now it was her turn to cry and she soiled his shoulder but he didn't really mind . He didn't really know what to say and just hugged her till she stopped crying , she cleaned her tears laughing about how ugly she looked just now

"You were actually more beautiful " Curtis suddenly said before coughing to hide his shame and Ava chuckled .

Suddenly Curtis's phone rang and he picked the call, it was Raymond ,his closest friend "bro, you got married and I'm just hearing about it, not cool dude" . . . Raymond rambled but Curtis just explained that it was sudden and asked to call him later. All this while, Ava was just staring at him unknowingly and when he turned to look at her she immediately turned to the other side to blush and there was a long awkward silence and it was lunch time so he took her to a restaurant in the park to get lunch , while they took their sit and started ordering, Melissa who just came out of the bathroom saw Curtis and made her way to him and upon getting closer she saw a brunette sitting in the same booth with Curtis , as she got closer she saw the face of the lady , "this must be the lady that stole her man" she thought, Ava was so beautiful and it immediately made Melissa jealous , she almost cried on her way there , she approached Curtis and asked why he hadn't been picking up her calls or replying her texts and she was met with " my wife doesn't like it " with a smug look on his face

Ava almost choked on her food and Curtis immediately passed the cup to her , Melissa's jealousy grew, Curtis had never done anything nice for her, did he really love her? Suddenly she poured him a cup of water "You bastard , I was only gone for a few years and you moved on so quickly" Curtis's eyes turned dark and when he stood up and faced her , her body instantly shivered at the sight ,apologised and ran away bawling her eyes out, her father, Mr Mccarthy , saw the scene and was horrified but couldn't chase her because of the embarrassment but Mrs Mccarthy chased after her daughter trying to calm her down

Ava looked at Curtis , stunned, she had never seen this side of him But still asked if him and Melissa ever dated

" she must really be delusional to think that , I've never liked her mostly because she's a spoilt brat" Curtis immediately responded

After taking their lunch , they both walked out of the restaurant back to their spot in the park , sat down for a while and talked about their hobbies, "Wow , i never thought you were going to ever sit down to talk to me but here we are" Ava said smiling , Curtis just looked at her blankly and suddenly brought out a card from his pocket to give her.
