Chapter 4 Love at first sight indeed

Curtis and Jim dropped Melissa off at her parent's house leaving Melissa in severe despair.

When Ava got home she heard nana Grace on the couch chatting with Mrs Hades with the television on and when she entered they both looked up and almost immediately nana Grace got up to hug Ava , "nana, I wasn't expecting you" Ava said smiling

"Of course dear, I came to surprise my grand baby " Nana Grace said motioning to Ava making Ava chuckle

"So dear, how have you been and how has Curtis been, I hope he hasn't been bullying you" Nana Grace asked "Nana, no he hasn't " Ava said laughing and Mrs Hades smiling

Nana Grace came to talk to her about meeting Curtis's parents and that quickly made Ava nervous , were they going to like her?, but then it wasn't a real marriage so who cares? Right?

With these thoughts going through Ava's head she sat down but nana Grace held her assuring her that she'll be well liked.

She was Curtis's wife , of course she'll be well liked , she didn't know this but Curtis was actually the first grand son of the young family so she was automatically the head of the house and that was why Nana Grace took her time with her. While the trio were chatting, Curtis entered the house and was shocked to see nana Grace in the house so he walked up to them to announce his presence greeting them

"Nana , what are you doing here?" Curtis asked curiously thinking something was wrong

"Do I need a reason to be here? Don't be a naughty child, I'm here to see my grand baby" gesturing at Ava "I hope you're treating her well" Curtis looked at Ava not really knowing what to say so he just smiled

"Anyway , Curtis, have you told your parents about your marriage?" Nana Grace asked followed by Curtis telling her No and explaining that he'll do that

"We're going there tomorrow, everyone will be there so it's a good opportunity " Curtis had no reason to refute it so he just agreed to it

Nana Grace announced she was staying over and they all stood up to go to the dinning Hall followed by Nana Grace filling Ava's plate with different varieties of food complaining of her weight saying she needed to add more and she was too thin .

After dinner ended everyone headed to their various rooms leaving the plates to the maids to clean up , nana Grace called Ava to her room and Ava went with her. When they sat down , nana quickly held Ava's hands apologising to her for forcing her into the marriage "Ava I'm sorry for forcing you into the marriage, i just wanted both you and my grandson to be happy", Ava replied honestly "Don't worry Nana , if I didn't want to I wouldn't have accepted, even though it came unexpectedly well, everything happens for a reason right" she said cheering nana Grace up "if my grand son isn't treating you well you know you can always tell nana right?" Nana Grace asked with a stern face then asking about her father and plans to meet him but she said they were going to meet soon. After nana Grace finished speaking to her they said their goodnight and Ava went to her room meeting Curtis in the lounge talking to someone in a reduced voice, she guessed it was his lover and she scoffed before heading to her room to sleep , before she slept , she spoke to her father, It was a short conversation then she slept off thinking about the next day .

When Ava passed the lounge and heard Curtis on the phone, he was on the phone with Melissa asking if what he said was a joke or a ruse to scare her away because she wasn't falling for it but Curtis didn't have time to argue and immediately dropped the call to head to his study to finish some documents.

The next day,

Ava and Curtis were in their vehicle heading to the family house while nana Grace was in her own car heading to the same destination. It took about about 40 minutes and when they arrived Caitlyn and Robert were there in the garden tending to their plants , when Caitlyn saw Ava she stood wondering what was happening but went over to greet them when Nana Grace alighted "This is Ava, Curtis's wife" Caitlyn was stunned and when Robert got to where they were, he was shocked looking at Ava but then quickly recovered before anyone noticed , Caitlyn looked at Ava and smiled welcoming her to the family but was disappointed in Curtis.

Caitlyn ushered them in ,there they met Curtis's brothers, Javis and connor, with their wives , Lisa and hannah sitting in the living room engaged in a conversation but stopped when they heard footsteps They all looked back to see who it was , when javis saw Curtis saw Curtis he snarled "oh look who it is , our golden child" but Curtis just ignored and sat on the couch after nana Grace and Ava sat down .

Everyone sat down and looked at each other for a few seconds before Caitlyn introduced Ava receiving gasps from all corners of the room , "Curtis how could you keep something of this nature to yourself, was there a ceremony?" Curtis answered No but then Lisa and hannah offered to show Ava around .

When they went out of the house, Lisa asked Ava how she and Curtis met and she didn't know what to say and just made up a story

"We met months ago and just felt it was love at first sight" hannah laughed " Curtis must really love you because he never brings anyone back here" leaving Ava confused "didn't Curtis have a lover?" Ava thought, or maybe they didn't know about her.
