Chapter 9 Blood Betrayal

Octavia's POV

"The alpha demands your presence at once." Those words sounded like a death order to my ears.

I knew why but I still asked. "Is there a reason why?"

"The guard scoffed at my feigned ignorance. "You'll see once you get there. Now follow us or we'll have no choice than to be rough."

"Sorry! I'll follow you. Please don't be rough." I pleaded and he seemed pleased by my subservient attitude so he allowed me to walk with them trailing behind me.

Soon we reached the manor in which I had just sprinted from. Normally, all workers use the back entrance but since I was here on the alpha's summon, I was led through the front entrance.

The servants stared at me with disdain and I just wanted to dig a hole on the ground and bury myself.

I felt like a prisoner being sent to her death row.

Soon we came to a stop in front of two giant doors. The guard walked forward and knocked the door before he pushed open after receiving a gruff "enter" in response.

I was suddenly pushed into the room and I almost fell but thankfully I caught myself.

I felt a sharp gaze on me that sent shivers down my spine. I slowly looked up only to see the middle aged man, Gabriel, I had come to know as my alpha glaring at me from atop his throne.

I trembled.

His eyes were tinged with a red color that only appeared when he was angry. I knew because I had seen it multiple times as he seemed to always find new ways to punish me.

"Kneel!"

My knees had already complied before I comprehended what was happening. "My Alpha." I immediately greeted breaking out in a cold sweat.

"I got a report from your colleague that you ran off during your patrolling shift. Is that true?"

Fuck! Who ratted me out?

My body began to shake harder as fear filled me to the core. "I'm.. Alpha... I. Yes, my alpha." I stuttered but I quickly added on. "But there was a reason alpha."

He laughed dryly. "Oh really? So you have a valid reason for running off during working hours without informing anyone despite how much you know I hate slackers." He didn't raise his voice but his sarcastic tone was enough to make me want to pee my pants.

"Isn't your ridiculous excuse that you went to the shifting ceremony?"

Huh? How did he know?

My surprise must have been evident as he continued. "Even a fool would have deciphered that. You are wolfless so you must have gone to try your luck again. So tell me, what was the results? Did you finally get your wolf?" His tone was tinged with mockery.

I lowered my head in shame. "No my alpha."

"Is that so? I expected that much. Anyways since your reason was not valid, I'll have to punish you."

"My alpha I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I just wanted to try and..."

"Enough!" I immediately clamped up in fear. "Gerald, come get someone to give her five lashes from the whip." A guard nodded and then rushed out while I paled. He then turned back to me. Since I sympathize with your wolfless state, I'll let you off with only this.

Only this? The whip isn't a normal one. It's made with coarse rope and coated with shard of barbed silver.

The silver slows down healing and makes the wounds excruciating even for someone with a wolf much less I, who is wolfless.

I began to plead, but I fell on deaf ears. I was tied down and then whipped harshly while the so-called sympathetic Alpha watched with his mouth curved into a smile.

Eventually, the punishment was over after thanking the alpha for his favor according to his orders, I hobbled out, my life half gone.

I went to the lockers and grabbed my belongings before turning to leave.

"How do you like it?" Riley said as she blocked my path. She wasn't with her posse this time around.

From her smirk, I could deduce that she was the one who ratted me out but I wasn't sure how she knew that I had left.

"Oh poor runt. You must be confused as to how I got to know. It's quite simple really. I was the one who set everything up from the start."

Huh? What does she mean.

"Let me explain so your dumb brain can comprehend. I was the one who got my girls to have that conversation at that particular spot because I knew a long while ago that it was where you changed."

I gasped in shock.

"I also knew you wouldn't be able to resist the temptation so I got you to go humiliate yourself at the shifting grounds. As if you can truly turn. What a fool! Don't you know that a wolf only has one chance. There is nothing like a late bloomer and there will never be. It's either you transform or you don't."

I paled as her words stabbed at my heart.

"I also informed the alpha since I know he hates you so you can suffer twice as much."

I was exasperated. "Why?" I croaked out unable to understand why she hated me so much.

She shrugged with a pout. "There's no reason in particular. I just hate the sight of you." With that she turned and left while giggling.

Distraught, I headed home. At least I still had a family to seek comfort from.

When I walked into the house, I noticed that everywhere was oddly quiet.

Where's Lucy? Ah! She must be in her room.

I walked towards her room ready to cry myself to sleep in her arms like I always did.

When I got to her door though, I halted as I heard moans coming from the slightly open door.

Ah! This girl. Well she's old enough to do whatever she likes. She must have thought I would work late like usual tonight which is why she had someone over. I hope she does introduce me to boyfriend.

I turned to leave but froze as I heard something. "Jake! Yeah Fuck me harder."

Jake? It was probably the same name.

My eyes widened in shock at her next words. "Who's the better fuck? I or my sister?"

There is not confusing this.

I pushed the door open disbelief and anger filling me. Just like I heard, Lucy was on the bed with Jake, my boyfriend pummeling into her.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" I screamed.
