Chapter 4 3

CHAPTER 3

"You only need to bring the Crown of Fallen Stars. Protect it and give it to me. That's your first trial before I free you to my domain."

Suddenly‚ I was reminded by Judas words. He said those words without hesitation that I'll bring it to him just what he desires me to be. I just shook my head and shook my head.

Here I am sitting‚ riding this old carriage given by the devil named Judas as our only transportation to the Kingdom of Arindale. I'm in an awkward position as Azazel is coming along with me‚ acting as my guide. as they should be because i'm freaking born in their realm.

"I'll explain–"

"No need. I will ask for your explanation if I am already here in your world‚ Mister Azazel. Hmm?" I responded by looking him in the eye.

He was the first to recover his gaze while turning to the outside of the carriage. I know he wants to say something more but just stops himself. There's a part of me that wants to hear his explanation but I'm overcome by anger and doubt. He is still a demon‚ like my boss.

it's been a few days since we left that demon's den‚ and it's our third day of this trip‚ I think because you're just nothing. I can't figure out the name of the driver of this carriage because it's not a person. It's just a lifeless body being commanded by its master.

while I was looking out the window, it suddenly stopped.

"W-why stop?" I asked myself. "It must have sense that we're already approaching the barrier from the realm of light and gods."

I turned my gaze to the side and saw Azazel's hand stretched out in front of me. he got out of the carriage.

"May I?" He said with a pleading tone. But I didn't even bulge by the gesture and walk my way out of the carriage.

I lifted up the edge of my dress as I walked in the front. I don't see any barrier like we are in a dark forest.

"Are you fooling me‚ Azazel?" He turned to her at the same time and clasped both hands in his armpit. "Well, we're still in the forest."

He started walking in front of me and touched the thin air. "I may not act like a primordial demon but I'm still one. Hence‚ I'll be the first one to be aware of the mighty god's barrier‚" He said‚ mockingly while looking at me.

"Beatrice."

And suddenly his hands emitted a dark bolt and there I heard something broke.

My eyes widened when I saw the foggy barrier. There is a small crack here where the black ball made by Azazel hit. I looked at it and walked back to the carriage while taking our things from it.

I immediately raised my eyebrows at what he was doing. "Hey! where are you going to take my stuff - this stuff that the devil gave me!"

"We have to walk in there to the center of the kingdom of Arindale." This is the answer.

"What?! Are you out of your mind? Shall we walk?! the hell–" I couldn't finish the last thing I was going to say when I realized I was in hell.

I just stuck out my tongue while taking a bag from Azazel's hand. I was about to enter but Azazel quickly stopped me.

"What? hold by hold‚ do you have no respect for women's rights. You‚ pervert!"

He immediately raised both his hands in the air. "Well yeah‚ of course I don't know. I am aware of the rights of you women, I am a man."

"Why are you still answering-!"

"Hep‚ hep‚ hep! before you block me, let me remind you of something. It's just an order from the boss." He said in a serious tone.

"Whatever." I didn't respond.

His face darkened like the night. He suddenly turned into a cold devil‚ just like the devil whom I serve.

"As soon as we stepped within the vicinity of the kingdom you will not talk to anybody even a beggar begging for a gold coin. Don't let yourself wander everywhere‚ stay close to me even inside the palace." He stopped and directly stared into my eyes.

suddenly‚ I can see my reflection from his clear blue eyes. It's luring me.

"And lastly, always remember this, if someone bumps into you and tries to talk to you, don't let them."

"And why should I follow them?" I promised as I crossed my arms and stared at him.

"This is for your own safety‚ Beatrice. I will be angry with Judas if something happens to you."

"Yeah‚ yeah‚ I really need to get back to the devil's den safely‚ so I don't die prematurely." I said.

at the same time, I took from the pocket of my clothes the bottle given to me by Zagreus‚ the only man of Judas. Demon but only one person. I quickly gulped down the second bottle. Zagreus gave me two and I drank one last time. it will only last me about two days. So‚ I need to do my job within the 2 days given by me.

My blonde hair was exposed now starting to change color until it became the shade of the dark forest. I also felt the changes in my eye color. from hazel brown eyes to an ocean like eyes.

"It looks good on you." I looked at the person who said this and I saw how Azazel gave me that stare. I just smiled at him while flipping my hair.

"Me too." Walked first into the world of the gods.

we've been traveling for an hour now since we entered that foggy barrier. The aura of this world is the opposite of the world of demons. It gives you this serenity and peace of mind. It has been clear since we entered here. I love how it calms my nervous self.

but I'm getting irritated here with my cloak on. As the weather is so clear, I am wearing warm clothes.

"Hey‚ Azazel. Can you take off the cloak? It's like we're stupid. Heat heat there is more cover more cover. people will really think that we are the disciples of god - I mean just you."

"Just be patient‚ Beatrice. We are close to the center. Don't ever take that off until we get to the inn. It helps us to be invisible in their naked eyes."

"There are a lot of echoes, huh? I drank that bitter liquid and then there was still a cloak." I whispered to myself.

Demons are also artistic. I thought it was just people.

After another hour of walking‚ intensely. We have arrived in front of this big wall‚ surrounded by knights I think. from here I can't see how high and long it is because of its extreme width and size.

"You two, which kingdom are you from? Do you have a crest badge?" My two eyebrows stuck together because of this question.

"Crest badge? Do we have such‚ Azazel?" I asked weakly while looking at it.

"Here. We're both mercenaries from the Empire of Isengard." My eyes widened when he said that while showing a medallion made of gold with sparkling diamonds.

"Shala‚ can that be pawned at Cebuana Lhuillier?" I unconsciously said to myself.

The two knights gave us both friendly looks that seemed to suspect us. Someone approached them and whispered something. The eyes of the two of us suddenly became alert so I suddenly clung to Azazel's cloak.

he looked at my hand that was clinging to him and at the same time looked at me and smiled.

He mouthed something‚

"Everything's going to be all right. Trust me." He said as he mumbled those words.

I just widened my eyes at it while snorting at it.

"Can you lower your cloaks? they are just secondary security for the dear king's approaching birthday."

"But–" I was cut off when Azazel spoke. "That's not a problem. Right‚ my wife?" He looked at me with a smile.

"What kind of wife are you talking about?" I whispered enough for him to hear and widened his eyes.

But his response was just a sweet smile before removing his cloak. I was surprised by what he did so I just stared.

this man, with his tousled brown hair and piercing ocean-like eyes, exuded an aura of confidence and charm. His jawline was chiseled, his smile captivating. He moved with grace and poise, drawing the attention of all who beheld him.

This demon named Azazel is dangerously handsome.

even though they are demons, there is nothing ugly in their physical form, except for their behavior.

"Your wife doesn't seem to like our policy‚ sir."

"Oh no, she'll do it." He smiled with full of confidence. "Yes, it's a real hero."

My hood fell down to my shoulder as I bellowed it. but on this particular day, as the sun broke through the clouds and cast its golden rays upon her, revealing a face of exquisite beauty.

Her skin was porcelain pale, flawless and radiant. Her eyes were a piercing blue, like sapphires sparkling in the sunlight. long, flowing locks of black raven hair cascaded down her back, shimmering with an otherworldly glow. A sense of awe and wonder filled the crowd as they beheld her angelic features, so striking and ethereal that they seemed almost unreal.

whispers of admiration and reverence filled the air as the people gazed upon her in awe. Some fell to their knees, overcome by her beauty and grace. Others stood in silent reverence, unable to tear their eyes away from her mesmerizing presence.

"Isn't my wife looks ethereal?"
