Chapter 3 2

CHAPTER TWO

I stood in front of the mirror in my bedroom, staring at my reflection with a sense of unease. I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching me, lurking just beyond the edges of my vision. My heart raced as I scanned the room, but there was no one there. just me, alone in my new room that the devil gave me.

"Do I really need this?" I asked myself‚ unconsciously.

I'm lost within my overflowing thoughts.

But then‚ as I turned back to the mirror, I saw him. The trusted servant of the demon who had kidnapped me and put me in vain. his face flickered in and out of view, his eyes cold and calculating. I staggered back, my hands shaking as I tried to make sense of what I was seeing.

"What are you doing here?"

"My master is waiting for your presence in the diner." He said without breaking the eye contact. "He already has a job for you‚ human."

"Can't it be tomorrow? It is late and I have no rest-"

"You are not a guest here‚ human. Be thankful that my master gave you a decent room to sleep." His cold voice echoed.

I wanted to fight but I chose to remain silent. I fell on that devil's trap and now I'm under his palm.

"You can wear that dress." He pointed to the black silk dress on my bed. "My master chooses that for you."

I nodded and quickly dressed myself‚ my mind racing with questions and fears. What did the demon want from me now? and why was I being summoned to a diner of all places? I tried to push aside my doubts and fears as I made my way out of the comfort room and into the night.

"Let's go." That's all he said before walking out of the room.

I just followed it as my chest pounded harder and harder. I wanted to run away again but I knew I couldn't.

I remember every word he told me when he finished killing all the monsters who wanted to eat my soul.

"You can run away from me or hide within the depths of this realm‚ but I'll use every way to find you."

I took a deep breath and blurted out those words. While walking in the wide and dark hallway, I could see the paintings hanging on every wall. different kinds of heads of animals‚ monsters‚ and even human heads.

I want to throw up. You can see the pain and bitterness they went through on their faces. Based on their horrifying deaths‚ I can see that he did not spare any sympathy for their lives.

"If I had been stubborn, I might have become one of his decorations‚ like these people." As said as I stared at them‚ feeling remorse.

But the sealed wing caught my attention. Even though the hallway is very dark, only the light it emits stands out. even if it's not on the owner's body you can't deny the allure of this wing.

"If you have accepted the existence of my master‚ so as angels." I was shocked when someone behind me spoke.

"And that wing is the proof." And the man is the devil's staff.

he turned to me and said,

"Let's go. You get too excited about simple things." He left me at the same time and went down the grand staircase.

"Well, yeah. For you it's okay to take a life." I whispered.

I arrived at the diner‚ and I saw him with someone. even if the mansion looks gloom and dark‚ the design of the table screams "gold". All the utensils are made in gold even the cups. All the food was just like the ones I've eaten. the person who went to my room was standing behind the demon while his eyes seemed to be watching my every move, ready to attack me at any time if I did something that didn't agree with them.

"Sit‚" he commanded, his voice soft but firm. I hesitated for a moment before taking a seat across from him.

I clasped my hands in extreme nervousness. I looked down at my hand under the table and focused on it. Can't look at the person‚ not the demon in front of me. Even if we were a meter apart, he was still dangerous.

"Hello!"

With my brain being occupied, I didn't notice someone standing by my side. I looked at it in shock and stared. I kept trying to remember if we had met.

and there I realized he was the driver of that freakin' taxi who brought me here!

"You! How-"

"The taxi driver? Yes, that's me. Unfortunately."

He scratched the back of his neck while extending his hand in front of me.

"Azazel‚ a friend of Judas."

I gave him a surprised look when he mentioned a name I had just heard.

"Judas? Who is Judas?" I ask here. He looked dumbfounded as he put his hands down. "Seriously? Judas is that devil. The one you're going to serve." as he pointed the devil who's just busy cutting the meat in front of him.

He must have felt the kind of look this Azazel was giving so he turned his attention to us.

He stopped cutting his meat and‚

"What are you both looking at?"

"Nothing!" Azazel replied.

Azazel sat in the next seat as if he was very eager to talk to me. With a mane of luscious brown hair cascading around his shoulders and piercing blue eyes that seem to pierce through your soul, Azazel cuts a striking figure. his appearance belies the darkness within, hiding the centuries of darkness and evil deeds he has wrought upon the world. But despite his dark nature, there is a sense of warmth and loyalty that emanates from him, drawing others in spite of their better judgment.

"Uhmm..what? Sorry? I'm not really going to bring you here." He said in a stammered tone.

"What do you mean I'm not the one to be brought here?" I asked in a suspicious tone.

He sighed. "I brought the wrong girl–"

"What? so‚ all this time I shouldn't have been in this situation if you hadn't made a mistake!" I shouted as I slammed the table.

"That's why I'm being sorry and tried to talk this matter with Judas but..." He stopped and looked directly into my eyes. "But‚ what?!"

"Unfortunately‚ you already signed the contract‚ woman." The devil named Judas interrupted. He wiped the side of his lips as his servant was pouring a glass of wine into his cup.

"I'm sorry‚ Beatrice." I'm flabbergasted when Azazel mentioned my name. it's been a while since I heard someone called me that.

I stumbled to my feet and weakly sat back to my chair.

"Sorry not sorry for you‚ woman. A deal is a deal."

"Judas! You don't need to tease her more!" Azazel hissed. "I do apologize‚ Beat-"

"Why don't you just take the girl who should be in my position right now!" I shouted‚ angrily. I stood up and angrily rushed at the demon Judas.

"Beatrice‚ no!"

His servant was about to stop me‚ ready to launch an attack but the devil signaled him to stop. hence‚ he welcomed me with wide open arms. Anger flowed more and more in my system at the same time I took the gold plate and was about to hit him but suddenly my action stopped when he snapped two fingers.

"You a-sshole! Undone this freakin' spell on me! I'm just going to hit you with this plate!" I hate this.

He just laughed and stood up from his seat. It walked towards me.

"Judas‚ stop. She's just scared!" Azazel muttered and wanted to help me but the devil just glared at him. And that's the most terrifying glare I've seen.

something about it is disturbing.

"I saved you‚ and you signed the contract. So‚ you are under me. You'll serve me‚ bow down to me‚ and accept me as your only master." He stood right at me‚ staring deep into my soul.

"Obey me and complete the missions. So‚ I shall give you the freedom you want." he said in a low voice‚ cold as ever‚ deep as it is.

"Am I clear‚ human?" He whispered in my right ear‚ his voice echoing into my mind as he disappeared in my vision.

"Yes." I unconsciously replied out of my fear of his murderous‚ omniscient aura. "Good. So‚ shall we talk about the job?" and he hummed as he sat back to his chair.

Beatrice-"

Azazel came to me to support me but I shook his hand and walked back to my seat.

I couldn't even defend myself or speak up for my rights. I suddenly felt nervous, afraid of what it could do to me. I can see in his eyes the disgust of what I did. When our eyes met I knew right away that I had nothing to do with him. I'm just a lowly human‚ and he's a...demon.

"Zagreus‚ explain."

"As you wish, master." His staff, Zagreus, came up to me and held out a small bottle.

"W-what is this?" I asked, stuttering.

"Drink it. It'll help you to conceal the scent of your blood‚ human. And it'll also help you to change your hair color and eyes." He said.

so without a second thought I drank it even though I had no knowledge of its ingredients. The smell was bitter and unpleasant but I swallowed it anyway. And suddenly‚ I felt a sudden burst of heat to my body. I want to scream but I'm afraid I don't want them to see me suffer.

because devils love it when humans are suffering.
