Chapter 4 The Master's temper

When she stepped out of her room, she realized that the annoying housekeeper stood just outside like a security manning her door.

She ignored the woman and made to pass her.

The woman however, stopped her with her hands. Her actions annoying the living daylight out of Ella the more, and she would definitely lash out all her anger and frustration on the woman, forgetting that she was older.

"If you touch me one more time, I swear you'd regret your actions." She threatened. If that was Will's attempt to stop her from going out, she would definitely drag the woman with everything she had.

The housekeeper, as annoying as always, smiled awkwardly. Ella could see the resentment she had towards her behind her fake smile.

"I'm sorry ma'am. The Master has asked that you don't leave the mansion until he asks you to."

Ella didn't know which annoyed her the more. The fact that she was being controlled and embarrassed by an ordinary housekeeper, or the fact that she was smiling at her.

"You think you can stop me?" Ella replied, laughing at the idea of being stopped by the woman, "watch me leave you and your master, and this stupid mansion!" She said, and forcefully pushed the housekeeper out of her way.

The woman went straight to the ground, screaming like she was about to have a baby. Ella walked past her without looking at her twice.

The butler ran out when he heard the screams of someone. He was astonished to find the housekeeper on the floor. He went to assist her get up.

"I don't like her. She's so much trouble, I wonder why the Master had to get married to such a pain in the ass."

"Watch your mouth, you!" Will warned. He wouldn't tolerate any of his workers speaking about her in that manner. That was his job to do. "I gave you a task, didn't I? Where is she?"

The butler and the housekeeper who were both startled by his sudden presence bowed their heads as a sign of respect.

The housekeeper was the most scared because he had heard her say something really terrible about his new wife.

"Am I speaking to myself? I asked a question!" Will's voice thundered and the housekeeper crashed to her knees, pleading to be spared.

"Master please, she left. She overpowered me, and left. She pushed me to the ground, and I fell. I am so sorry."

Will dismissed both of them, because he knew that there was no way she was getting past the security. He was expecting Ella to come back to the mansion in a few minutes because he had given the security strict warning to not let her out unless he heard his voice.

However, after waiting for more than ten minutes, and she had not come back, he decided to go out himself and see what was going on. Maybe she was picking a fight with them.

When he went outside, he couldn't find her anywhere. The security guard stood up and greeted him but he didn't respond.

"Where is she?" He asked.

"Who Master?" The security guard asked him.

Will was impatient. "My wife, dummy! Who else?"

"Oh she left already, Master." The security guard replied, bowing softly as he spoke.

"Left already? And you're saying this to my face? After my instructions?"

The security guard didn't understand what Will was saying. He was confused.

"But Master, you gave an instruction that I should only let her leave when I hear your voice."

"Did you hear my voice? How did I employ dummies as my staff? Are you stupid? Did you forget your brains in your security post? Please go pick it up, and fix it back in your skull!" Will replied, he felt really disgusted and disappointed at how dumb his security guard was.

"But sir you gave the instruction. I heard your voice. She played it from her phone." The security guard explained.

"She played a voice recording of me giving her permission?" Will asked, he was amazed because he had really underestimated her.

"Yes sir. I didn't know that it was fake. I would never have let her go."

"That's enough. Go back to your duty post. Next time act more sensible." Will said, waving the security guard off.

Diane was more than happy to see Ella. She was glad that she could make it.

"He didn't let me leave, so I snuck out of the mansion." Ella revealed.

"Won't that get you into trouble?" Diane asked concerned.

"It definitely would, but I'll deal with that once I get back."

They talked for a lot more hours, and Ella only reluctantly got up to leave when it was past eleven. She knew that he would've noticed that she was gone, but she needed to leave that house, and be with the only person that she could talk to.

"He should be asleep by now since it's pretty late. I'll fill you in on all the details later. Bye bestie, and thank you for everything." Ella said, hugging her friend and not wanting to let her go.

They pulled away from the hug when the Uber driver horned at them. It was late, and it was time to go home for everyone, including him.

They started their trip, and it wasn't a far distance. It was about thirty minutes away.

"I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm invading into your personal life, but I just wanted to know if she was your girlfriend." The Uber driver asked curiously, and Ella felt disgusted by his question.

"She isn't. Now mind the business that pays you." She retorted, and the driver raised his hand in surrender.

The rest of the ride was quiet, and the only unusual thing was the driver catching glimpses of her through the rear view mirror. It was creepy, and she just had to ask him what he was doing.

"What?" She blurted out.

"Hmm?" He replied, raising his brows up like he was clueless.

"Why do you keep looking at me through your rear view mirror?" Ella asked again. She was definitely going to give him a one star rating, and drop a negative review once she got down safely.

"Uh-I'm sorry if I seem annoying," the driver started, laughing nervously as he spoke, "but you look like the girl that's been trending today. Did you get married to Will Sanders of Photogram today? Or am I wrong?"

"You're not wrong. It's me. You enjoy gossip, I can tell. Now please drive me home!" She responded in annoyance.

"I have one tiny last question to ask please." The driver pleaded.

Ella rolled her eyes, and asked him to ask what he wanted to ask.

"Isn't Will Sander, your husband, like really rich? I mean top billionaires in the whole world kinda rich? Why are you using an Uber? Is it like your choice, considering the fact that you were in the middle class like me before getting married to him, or is he just a stingy man. You know I heard..."

"That's enough!" Ella yelled, awed at the nerve of the Uber driver.

"Oops I'm sorry, I just like wanted to know so that..."

"So that you can go spread more lies about me." Ella responded, she was really upset now.

"More lies? Are you saying everything that you were called online are all lies? Are you saying that you aren't a gold digger? Because that's the news that's circulating..."

Ella cut the man short again before he could go on with his statement. He was opening up wounds that she just made attempts to heal.

"You would shut your mouth, and drive me home safely. No more questions, or else I'll get you arrested for invading my privacy." She warned, her eyes glaring with rage.

The driver did as he was instructed, and shut his mouth.

However, she wasn't happy for the new recognition that her marriage to Will brought. She didn't think that anyone would ever recognize her. It has never happened before that she was asked such questions.

She wondered if she would be able to cope with all of the attention she was getting. To make matters worse, she was currently trending for the wrong reasons. How did she manage to land herself in such a mess?

Her palms began to feel sweaty, and she began to feel so hot even when the air condition in the car was turned on. She was nervous and scared of what her decision would land her into in the nearest future.

How was she sure that the news would die down? Why was no one talking about that stupid Tracy anyway? She was the delusional idiot that crashed her wedding.

She felt a wave of sadness in her heart when she realized the reason why no one was talking about Tracy being a bad person. It was because Tracy was from a renowned family as well. Her parents were the third richest family in their city, so that explained it.

She couldn't be dragged because of her status, so Ella had to face it all because she was a nobody in town.

Ella was more than happy to be at home when she finally arrived. She never thought she would ever feel happy to be back home to that man and his attitude, but it was better to be there than to be with that overbearing driver. She didn't forget to give him a one star rating, and make sure that he never showed up as her Uber driver again.

Now it was time for her to face the consequences of violating Will's order. She wondered what his reaction would be, but she was sure that it would be unpleasant.

She would sneak back in, and avoid making any noise to wake Will or any of the staff.

She first met with the security guard, and from the look he gave her, she knew that she had put him in trouble with Will. Well, it wasn't her fault. She had to do what she had to do in order to leave the mansion earlier. The security guard had to look for a way to forgive her. Besides she was the Master's wife, and she didn't owe him an apology.

She tiptoed her way to the front door, and turned the door knob.

"Yes." She whispered. She had thought that it would be locked.

She was even more grateful when she opened the door, and saw that the room was dark, and quiet. It meant that everyone had gone to sleep, including Will.

She used her phone's flashlight to light up her way. She tiptoed slowly and quietly up the stairs. Everything was going on perfectly.

However, she was stopped in her tracks when the living room lights were turned on.

Her eyes met the murderous gaze of her newly wed husband. He was sitting on the couch with a remote in his hand. It must be the remote that he had used to turn on the light.

Shoot! She knew she was screwed. She was cut red handed.

"Where did you go to without my permission?" Will asked. His voice was low, but it was deep enough and very firm for her to know that she was in some real trouble.
