Chapter 5 Similar to my Avelyn.

Dante's Pov

I was instantly pulled to this woman the moment I set eyes on her, which hasn't happened since Avelyn in a long time.

On faith, I noticed a vaguely striking similarity to Avelyn, which made me want to keep her near to me.

I despised the fact that the reason I was so drawn to Faith was because of the wretched Avelyn, who entered my life and plundered everything before disappearing completely.

I spent countless nights, days, weeks, and even years looking for her until giving up a few months ago. Before formally giving up my hunt for that woman after two years and a few months, I encountered those two occurrences that brought me to this place.

If someone had told me that Avelyn would ever leave me, I would have wagered all I had and lost. In my opinion, she was practically the epitome of human perfection.

In the past two years, I would have sacrificed anything for this woman, but not anymore. If I ever saw her again, I'm not sure what I'd do. The woman was the epitome of tenderness, but after she departed, I realized that she had always seemed to be lovely when, in reality, she was truly vicious.

The fact that she took nothing-not even a dime-struck me as odd. I was only left to speculate that she might have instead traveled with a lover.

Yet, I couldn't help but feel a pull toward the woman who was in my office before me yesterday. The only other woman who could soothe my rage was my Avelyn, thus her presence was really effective.

As I realized that Faith's presence had subdued my fury, I became enraged once more and irritated with the girl who resembled Avelyn.

Regarding this girl, my emotions, turmoils, and feelings-which I had long since learned to bury-were acting up. I was running anxious of it.

Was it the way Avelyn looked like her? It makes sense why Kanye chose a woman who resembles Kim Kardashian; perhaps the similarity helped him cope with his loss of her.

I had a strange feeling about this woman, or maybe it was just my paranoia.

After Avelyn, I was compelled to work in while suffering tremendous pain secretly, and this encouraged me to work harder and achieve greater achievement, leading to my becoming a billionaire.

Admittedly, Avelyn's influence on my numerous unsuccessful one-night relationships meant that my romantic life was never able to recover.

When I tried to have sex, the notion of having intercourse with any other women completely turned me off; the only thing that made my cock rise was the thought of having sex with my fugitive wife. I despised the fact that Avelyn was still unrivaled by anyone.

While she was easy able to runaway and move on here I was sulking like a lost poppy for the past two years.

I would deny everyone that she was the reason I was such an workaholic man and that she wasn't the reason why I wouldn't commit myself to another woman but it was all true.

I observed Faith reenter the room; if anything, the differences between Faith and Avelyn were in Faith's eyes, hair, accent, and slightly curvier physique.

"These licensing paperwork must be completed and returned to human and resource by the end of the day mr. Harrison." She spoke lowly and walked over to her desk.

"Thank you." I spoke watching her intently as she tried her best to remain professional before me while she did her work.

My gaze shifted from her trim legs to her round bum, which was slouched over her desk and cradling a couple of her papers.

From behind she somewhat resembled that woman. She had everything, down to her luscious curves. Her voice even resembled Avelyn. She was a breath of fresh air.

I groaned as there was a knock suddenly on my door abruptly ending my thoughts.

"Come in." I instructed watching as a seemingly young man sauntered inside.

"You forgot this at your desk." Working on a few files I could clearly see that the young boy had a crush on Faith which annoyed me.

"Thank you Mark." She smiled.

"Remember we had agreed to have lunch today." He whispered in her ear.

"Given that you're my assistant and I often don't eat lunch when everyone else does, my lunch time will now be your lunch time moving forward." Without turning to look at the two, I addressed them directly while browsing through a few folders.

"I suppose we'll have to accept a rain check." The young employee addressed his remarks to Faith just to my irritation.

"I detest slackers." Disapprovingly, I said as I raised my gaze to the boy.

"Excuse me sir." He hurriedly went away to my satisfaction.

I stopped myself for wanting to look into that boy's time here. I watched as Faith quickly went back to her seat and began working as if thinking my words were for her.

"I think it's time we head for lunch." I stated watching as her face morph into confusion.

I didn't care if what I had said earlier differ from my actions now. I was the boss either way, she'll get use to it.

"S-so early?" She gasped looking at the time, "But it's only 11am in the morning."

"That's quite fine miss. Emerson. I told you my hours of lunch differ from every other employee here." I made her aware.

"Come with me." I stated.

"Where are we going?" Faith questioned.

"We're going to get lunch." I told her. A small pout gracing her plump lips as we headed towards the elevator.

I knew that didn't answer her question but she would know when we get there.

Stepping outside I made my way to my car. Seeing her pause in her track as I opened the left side of my car to have her seated.

"Y-you want me to enter your car?" She fumbled.

"Yes miss. Emerson." I passionately waited as she shyly got before me trying to get into my car.

Lifting her up I placed her to sit making sure to buckle her seatbelt and ignore the small blush on her face. I shrugged off once again a small comparison between her and Avelyn before getting into my car and driving off.

"Your familiar with the restaurant's around here?" Faith timidly questioned.

"Actually I'm not but I did research the restaurant I wanted to go and linked it with my gps." She nodded.

Upon arriving at the restaurant which was simply five mintues drive away, I got out of the car and helped her down before making her follow me inside.

"I will order for the both of us." I told her as she nodded.

I ordered for us both watching her face go uneasy.

"So Miss. Emerson, how long have you been living in Kawerau for?" I questioned curiously.

"I grew up here actually." She stated looking away seemingly nervously.

"And what do you like about Kawerau?" I tried to get to know her better.

"Well I don't really like this city that much, but I do love the country." I nodded to her answer.

"What about family? Do you have family members that are in this city? Or in New Zealand for that matter?" I questioned curiously taking in every details of how she would respond.

"W-well, I-I don't have any family members here." She mumbled while avoiding my gaze in a suspicious manner.

Faith grew up here yet had no family members. Was she adopted?

The server quickly brought our lunch before I could ask her additional questions and get further answers from her.

"Thank you."

Taking a bit out of my food I watched as Faith brushed whatever contained nuts to the side. Her eyes caught onto my reactions as she quickly defended herself.

"I'm allergic to peanuts."

My Avelyn was also allergic to peanuts and would always grumble about it giving her rashes when she was younger. I watched as she stopped her motion of pushing her peanut butter pie to the side before glancing up at me with a weary smile.

I might be looking into too much as there was quite a few people allergic to peanuts. I needed to stop compare and imagine she had similar tastes and posture to Avelyn.

"You don't need to correct yourself, and you shouldn't be anxious, Miss Emerson. Relax." She fidgeted and glanced at me, which indicated that she was feeling somewhat anxious, before she broke into giggles.

When she laughed, which was nearly contagious, I managed to maintain my cool while admiring her very stunning smile.

"You have dough on your cheek. Here let me get it for you." She stretched over lightly brushing my cheek.

Apart from the fact that it was all in my head, I would have compared everything she was doing to Avelyn. I was picturing her as Avelyn as I looked into her green eyes that were looking back at me, and for a split second, I thought I saw something very peculiar flash into those eyes.

"Dante." I was caught off guard when she spoke; this time, she had dropped her accent and sounded precisely like Avelyn. She had called me by my first name rather than being formal, I observed.

"I-i'm sorry." She stuttered before going back to eating.

Faith continued to act in a curiously similar manner to Avelyn, and I began to question whether I was actually imagining things.
