Chapter 1 This Cannot be

I knew I had to leave. Dante should never find out that I'm pregnant. My heart pained knowing that I was about to loose someone this precious to me.

I was going to have two beautiful babies for the man I love and I wasn't going to let anything bad happen to them. I so desperately wanted to go back but couldn't. I recalled the events playing in my head once more.

"Why are you torturing me like this?" I sobbed loudly, brushing away my tears as sorrow encircled my chest and made the idea of leaving Dante unbearable.

"Why did you ask? Because you are nothing more than a bitch who is undeserving! Years of sitting while you strut around pretending to be someone you're not while I watched you get all the attention!" Her tone became stern and also vengeful.

"But you don't have to do this, please." I begged.

"I've had enough of you. Your going to do exactly as I say and if you try to alert Dante or anyone I'll release those damning evidence and ruin your lives." The female taunted.

"Your going to leave the fucking country and never come back and if you do. I'll make sure to execute you and your family. Got it?" I nodded my head almost emobalized before faintly whispering a yes.

"Good, I've already arranged everything for you. You see it was very easy considering the fact that I'm Dante's lover and he confides everything with me. Now since he's away on a three day business trip in Ireland he won't be able to notice a thing." I sobbed terribly hearing that whoever was doing this was very close to my husband.

"Please don't hurt me." I begged, sobbing as I glanced at the gun to my head.

I knew whatever she was saying was not true, Dante would never do this to me, he loved me dearly. From the day we had met in college Dante has been my first in everything. I didn't know how I was going to get through this world without him by my side.

"I won't murder you if you follow my instructions; I only needed you out of the way. When Dante and I made love, he would always admit that you were monotonous in bed and never stopped bugging him. He also grew tired of you not giving him an heir as requested; the only reason he hasn't filed for divorce is because he feels sorry for you, you pathetic barren woman!" She chuckled menacingly.

"No I don't believe you. Dante would never do anything to hurt me. Your lying." I snapped, fiercely defending my husband.

"See for yourself." She smiled viciously massaging her pregnant stomach.

I looked towards her phone witnessing that there was a video, I hesitantly extended my hand before clicking on the video and there it was a clear view of my bedroom and a man and a woman laying in bed. The woman was on top of the man.

I could clearly see the same identical tattoos on the man that matched the one's on Dante's hand. The tattoo was that of a dragon same color same size everything matched perfectly, the woman riding on top of my husband was clearly not me.

Her hair was red but she had a clear pink heart on her bum which was not mine. And then there it was picture of my husband's face. My husband was there enjoying his moment with the red head woman who was standing before me smirking.

"I needed that, I've been sexually frustrated for the past two days, I no longer feel comfortable having sex with my barren wife considering she's unable to have my child after trying for so long." I bit my lip holding back my tears as my husband spoke after climaxing.

"Let's have a baby together, we can divorce her then." She suggested.

"I can't divorce her, especially not now since the business is taking off, my family loves her too much, once I find a way to do it without my family think blaming me for our divorce then I'll happily divorce her and be with you baby doll." The pain was too much to bare as my husband said those words to her.

"H-How is this even possible?" I questioned in disbelief.

It was a lie!

It has to be a lie!

My husband would never do this to me!

"Such a naive woman you are you're not the first or the last woman Donte has ever been with and will ever be with, consider this me doing you a favor." She spat.

"Everything you need is in that bag, I don't care wherever you go just take it and leave. Also if I find that I'm able to trace you by your name I'll execute you. Now move!" She spoke.

I looked at the bags before me. Already packed. I took one last look at the mansion before going on my way.

Whoever this woman was made sure I left no trace. None that Dante would ever pick up on and search for me. I already missed him. I desperately wanted to just be in my husband's overprotective and possessive hands right now even though he had cheated on me.

But my babies were more important. They were my world as of now on.

I handed over my phone to the guy who stood before me with a mask over his face before heading into the unknown car.

Present day

Two years and nine months later........

"Momma?"

"Hmm?"

"Ice-qweem for breakfast pwetty pweese?" Ava put on her best voice to sweet voice while batting her eyelashes at me.

"Nice try Ava, maybe if your a good girl then I might consider giving you ice-cream later tonight." I handed her and Aiden there breakfast which consisted of; sunny upside eggs, toasts, franks, sliced fruits and apple juice.

"I told yah momma gonna say no be'case I'm the sweet one and momma will not say no to meee." Aiden teased biting into his toasts to which Ava showed him her tongue.

"How about I spank the both of you?" I teased pinching both there chubby cheeks to which they both gasped and shook there head.

"Good, now eat up." I told my two babies before heading towards the door after hearing it ring.

I immediately opened it as Mavis pushed through the door, "Where's my two handsomely dashing angels!" She excitedly screamed at them and I rolled my eyes closing the door shut.

"Aunty May!" They both giggled happily.

"Good morning to you too." I murmured to myself.

"Shut it Faith!" Mavis shushed making me roll my eyes once again.

"Guess what aunty may brought for the both of you?" They both ran to her happily with glistening eyes very excited.

"Mavis I told you not to..." I was rudely cut off by her again.

"Aunty bought you chocolate popsicles!" I sighed in exhaustion as she gave them without my consent.

And stopping her would be futile as Mavis would literally go into a fist fight with me just to have the kids eats whatever they wanted.

"Thank you Aunty May!" They screamed in excitement before running past there breakfast and off into there room to eat there popsicle.

Clearly they knew I'd try and take it away so they ran knowing that Mavis would hold me off. They were sure to get two spanking later on.

"Oh Faith, hurry up. The kids occasionally receive sweet food to eat. It's not like you have the money to purchase them anything besides what they need. It won't hurt them if you give them a popsicle now and then." She comforted me with her gorgeous brown eyes.

I sighed before sitting down on the sofa, "I know it's just that I can't help but me possessive and protective of them and I don't want you to think that your obligated to buy them anything."

"I'm their godmother Faith. I'm allowed to buy my godchildren things too. A godmother's roll is looking after there godchildren and plus, you might not be financially stable now but at least your still able to look after them. You've got me." I smiled almost on the verge of tears.

Mavis Williams was my only best friend after leaving america I ran away to New Zealand to seek a better life. I met her while I was still pregnant and living in an apartment nearby. She was also my co-worker.

She helped during that time. I was very grateful for her. She was a blessing in disguise. Whenever she would ask about the kids father I'd tell her he had run away after finding out that I was pregnant. Thankfully she did not push the matter any further.

I knew I couldn't tell anyone about my situation. I knew Mavis would go to the police or try to contact Dante. This could not happen. I could not put my babies in danger as a target for anyone plus Dante clearly had moved on.

Since the past two years I have heard of little news of Dante, he had now acquired a few business and was now dating even though there were no confirmation of this and that it was business as usual for him and that we had secretly separated.

Sometimes it hurt my heart knowing that he didn't even bother to search for me but I needed to move on for my kids.

"Have you heard?" Mavis asked drew me out of my thoughts.

"Heard what?"

"Oh my gosh Faith, how can you have not heard of such a massive news?!" Mavis shrieked wide eye at me.

"What is it?" Mavis was always the one to know all the juicy gossips there was.

"Mr. Bloomfield has sold Dailyplus!" Mavis said making me gasp.

"What?! Why didn't you tell me this before?! What is going to happen to us? And why did he sell the company?!" I shrieked.

"We all know Dailyplus was on a path to collapse financially into bankruptcy. His son Bloomfield Junior was so pissed because his father didn't pass down the company onto him. I was told we'll still have our jobs also the company was sold to an American company called Harrison Ford Brokers...." My eyes widened hearing the name of the company.

"What did you say the name of the company was?" I murmured softly hoping Mavis had mentioned the wrong name.

"Harrison Ford Brokers is a massive, multibillion dollar American corporation. We'll soon be receiving better income, according to rumors I've heard about this new corporation investing heavily in Dailyplus. Dante, the CEO of the business, is very hot; you should see him." Mavis spoke enthusedly.

"This cannot be happening."

Chapter 2 God damn

Avelyn^

"What's going on at work right now?" I inquired, more to myself than to Mavis, as we entered Dailyplus to begin work.

Security was all over the place, and employees were scurrying up and down. Everyone was behaving in a very unprofessional manner, as though they were insane. It appeared as though a hurricane had just blown through and all of a sudden everything had altered.

"I have no idea." Mavis mumbled just as dumbfounded as I was.

"This is the first time I've heard this from you. You typically do know everything." I snickered as I continued to observe everyone running around.

"In any case, everything is new at first. I guess I never got the memo this morning." Mavis pulled me along to one of her colleagues who stood printing papers.

"We appear to be the only ones not acting out of character, so hopefully we're not getting fired." Mavis's remarks caused me to gasp.

"Oh my god." I gasped realizing it might indeed be true.

"What's going on here at the office?" Mavis questioned the female who seemed startled as if afraid of something.

"The boss simply entered the room and began ordering everyone around. Every delinquent report, record, and file needs to be finished today; otherwise, we'll be on a list of people who will be fired by tomorrow morning. No one wants to get laid off considering this entire city is so densely populated with more people than jobs." As she finished, Mavis and I both gulped at the prospect of being fired.

"B-but, it is not possible. I have no chance of finishing three enormous files of invoices by the end of today. Three weeks ago was the deadline, and I'm just halfway there! What the hell do I do?" I almost start crying as I whisper yelled.

Thank you, Mr. Bloomfield, for being so cheap as to not recruit more workers and instead overtaxing your understaffed administrative crew with more work than was truly necessary.

My thoughts turned immediately to my precious babies Aiden and Ava. What in the world would I do if I couldn't give them food and a roof over their heads?

After running away a few years ago, I was so broke that I thought moving to New Zealand, a country I had admired greatly when I was younger, would be great for me. However, due to my limited funds, I was unable to stay in a better city.

"Don't take it so seriously, you know the boss, never one to keep his words." Mavis tried to reassure to me but I could sense deep down that she was very worried as well.

Mavis worked for the news/social media campaign section of Dailyplus, which is one of the reasons she always knew everything since she had to know everything, whereas I worked as a filing clerk in the administration department.

We ran a medium-sized insurance company. Called Dailyplus care but usually disregard the care part as Mr. Bloomfield actually cared nothing for it's employees and clients. Mr. Bloomfield simply wanted money.

We both separated and I headed to my office workstation quickly trying to cover all that was needed to be done along with my coworkers who were frantically going crazy.

One of the reasons I had so much unfinished work was that I had to leave for home at precisely five every evening to pick up my children from their nanny, while most of the time the others stayed back and finished their job. I had no one else to babysit my babies, yet if I could go back in time, I wouldn't do anything differently. They are my pride and joy.

"According to what I've heard, Mr. Bloomfield's tenure as CEO of Dailyplus is coming to an end today, and he wants to leave the business in a position that makes it appear to be doing well rather than in the deplorable condition that it is currently in. Everyone here knows that ship has already sailed and died a long time ago. Now he has us over here desperately trying to hold onto the little sorry excuse for a job." Monica spoke up.

"If only he had sold the company along time ago we wouldn't have to be in this damn mess today." Robert quickly added looking very exhausted.

"We would be alright if the boss didn't have us taking on so much work every day. In accordance with what I've heard, the Harrison Ford Brokers, who recently acquired the business, are reportedly restructuring our health care benefits as well as the entire wage package. Each month, we would be rewarded well. To finish these dreadful deadlines is all that is required of us." Continuing to do my job, I jumped at the opportunity.

This sounded like a fantastic opportunity.

"How do you know all this?" I asked very much interested.

"After Mr. Bloomfield's decision to move everyone about, rumors have started to circulate throughout the building. I was informed by a specific individual there that this transaction has been ongoing behind closed doors for some time, and that the company is paying a staggering eleven billion dollars to acquire Dailyplus." After Robert told me, I coughed.

I was aware that Dante was wealthy-a billionaire-but I had no idea how wealthy of a billionaire he actually was. In an effort to avoid collapsing from anguish, I tried to avoid news stories about him in the past and to avoid finding out who he was currently dating.

"Obviously, they recognize a quality in this company that none of us who work here do." I swallowed quite forcefully despite Monica's joking.

"W-what about our bonuses and other incentive this company has not been able to pay us? Will it be shifted over to the Harrison Ford Brokers or will they throw it out the window?" I asked.

"It's being shifted over to the Harrison Ford Brokers! We'll finally get all our funds once and for all. I'm just dying for that damn old man to quickly go and take his hot ass son with him. We'll be free from there pesky asses." Robert spat annoyed.

I sighed before getting back to work. If I was able to get away with my job even by the whisker of the tail then I'd probably be able afford to buy my babies ice-cream whenever they wanted.

I secretly smiled almost in tears, determined to get through the day by the will of my babies.

"And have you seen Dante Harrison?! The CEO of Harrison Ford Brokers?!" Joann screamed and I immediately stopped as my heartbeat skyrocketed with the name.

"How could I not?! The man is goddamn attractive! He was also voted the most handsome bachelor and self made billionaire last month by vogue magazine and a few other company's last month. That man has only ever managed to come second only a handful of times." Monica squealed.

"I would love to get my hand on his damn body! Have him licked in all the right places and for him to take me how he pleased." Joann made moaning sounds while speaking.

I hated hearing them speak about Dante that way and not being able to say anything about it.

Ughhh.

"But wasn't he married before?" Robert inquired.

"I heard the wife was caught having an extramarital affair, and he quietly divorced her and sent her away." I was enraged by Joann's words.

"I heard that he just got bored of her and now he's dating a model. Everything a man could ever want in a woman." Robert stated and I tried my best to mask my anger.

"Excuse me." I left the office and headed for the bathroom.

The pain I was experiencing made it impossible for me to contain my tears, which eventually rolled down to my cheeks. I felt sadness. I was deeply upset by their words. Dante caused me pain, yet I still harbored a soft spot in my heart for him.

After a few minutes of crying I got out of the bathroom stall and washed my face before heading outside. Once I headed outside I noticed everyone was gathering around the reception area of the building. I followed suit wanting to see what it was this time around.

With the amount of surprises I was getting alone today my head was going to explode.

"Faith!" I heard my name being shouted from the back and recognized it as Mavis.

"What's happening?" I asked her curiously.

"Mr. Bloomfield ordered everyone to assess to the reception area just now." She explained.

"Well have you heard why? Do you think he plans on the list out our names and tell us were fired." My chest constricted at the thought.

The only times we needed to congregate in the reception area were when we had successfully increased our stock levels, which never happened, or when Dailyplus was mentioned negatively in the news or on special occasions like Christmas, etc., and we were all made aware of this beforehand.

"Obviously not. Not even the day's conclusion has come yet. So something else must be the case. Perhaps he will finally confirm what everyone else has been speculating about: his resignation." Mavis gave my hand a comforting touch.

I needed a lot of reassuring lately.

We closely watched as Mr. Bloomfield took the center of attention of the room before speaking on a microphone.

"I'm sure many of you are already aware of this, but I'm about to stand down as CEO of the dailyplus Care Insurance Company. Unless you haven't finished writing your reports by the deadline, nobody should be gobsmacked." I held on to Mavis hard while he spoke, his words echoing in my ears.

"However that's not why we are here today we are gathered here today to introduce to you your new CEO of dailyPlus care." My heart stopped and I felt as though I was going to have a heart attack with the amount of shocks I've received.

"Your new boss and the CEO of dailyplus will be Dante Harrison as I resign from my position as your boss. I recognize your sadness, but please know that this isn't the last you'll see of me; instead, your new CEO, Dante Harrison, will fill you in on everything you need to know going forward. Without further ado, please welcome your new CEO." Everyone cheerily applauded as he completed moving away, which left him feeling a little surprised by everyone's joy he was finally gone.

I heard several women giggling and screaming as a few security guards emerged making everyone whisper until I finally noticed a familiar figure.

I then caught sight of him at that moment. Well aligned, sculpted jawline, swoon-inducing silver eyes, and thick, dark brown hair. All the women were staring at his dominance, grandeur, and authority, which flowed off of him, as well as his tattoos and obvious rippling muscles, which made my pulse thump once again.

He appeared to have a lot more robustness in stature and was much more handsome than I had previously observed. I was gripping Mavis' hand so hard that I wasn't even aware of it. Too tightly.

God damn.

Chapter 3 Dante Harrison

Dante^

I was speechless as I stood there in total disbelief. I stared up into the piercing silver eyes of the person who, in many ways, is responsible for shaping who I am now, unable to speak a word.

I was completely and thoroughly taken aback by his unexpected arrival and the aura of control he exuded as I stared at him in wonder.

I was finally able to meet the man my heart ached to meet in person after almost three years. I was overcome with emotion when I saw him and wanted to cry; despite the fact that I had lost the love of my life due to his infidelity, I yearned to fall into his arms again. I was so close yet so far away from him.

Happily, he could not identify me since I had dyed my hair to a brownish-blonde color instead of my thick jet black hair, and I had experimented by wearing green eye lenses with an eye frame in place of my usual light brown eyes. Fortunately, I was comfortable with the New Zealand accent and did a good job of emulating it.

"Oh my god isn't he handsome?" Mavis whispered in disbelief and astonishment.

I spun around to see Mavis's eyes sparkle with anticipation. As he turned to begin speaking, I noticed how everyone was enthralled by him.

"As I'm sure you're all aware, I serve as the CEO of the Harrison Ford Brokers organization. I will soon visit various departments to meet the teams in a quick introduction. I'm here to announce that, from today, I will be in charge of giving you directives. Show me your best and I'll make things happen for you. Throughout my time here, you'll discover that I'm a very rewarding man of hardworking people." Dante stated making me shudder after hearing his sultry voice after years.

"I'm not only in it for the profits; I'm here to restore and even improve the previous level of this organization. It will take all of us working together to make this company great, and I know you all have what it takes to do it. I made a substantial investment in this business because of that."

"Together with restoring the company's dominance, I also intend to make changes to the benefits package offered here, among other things. I intend to make you all feel at ease since I need your help to make this firm successful. From this point forward, all hands are on deck."

"After I have a meeting with all of you in your own departments, I will consider any suggestions and concerns. Enjoy your snacks and beverages for the time being. Following this, I expect greatness from each of you, so let's celebrate and bask. Good luck to you all." As the genuine CEO he is, Dante came to a conclusion.

Dante delivered a compelling speech, and I carefully observed him as he bowed to greet the other members of the company. As I stood in my place, I also observed as women rushed up to him to meet him before I was sudden snatched away from my thoughts by Mavis.

"He's so my type." Mavis murmured in my ear as she pulled me along to retrieve snacks and champagne.

"Wow really, I never noticed that with you and all the other girls here openly swooning over him." I was obnoxious in my speech.

"Lighten up Faith." Mavis retorted.

"Please don't tell me you've forgotten that he'll be firing others. Everyone in this room is acting as if Mr. Bloomfield hadn't informed them that he would be letting people go."

How could she tell me to lighten up?

"Faith what you need to do is to have Faith." Mavis quickly took a glass of champagne and drank it while I rolled my eyes at her.

"That's easy for you to say because your not overdue on work Mavis. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be heading back to work." I spoke walking away before she had a chance to say anything else that would upset me.

I turned to look at Dante again and saw that the women in the room were still smothering him with attention. I groaned and tried to contain my rage.

Even though I desperately wanted to stay and fascinate over Dante I unfortunately had a lot of work to do and loosing this job was the last thing on my list. I needed this to take care of my babies.

I kept working quickly for another hour until I was approached by someone I hadn't encountered before.

"Miss. Emerson?" She spoke, her short curly brown hair bouncing up and down.

"Yes?" I perked up at her after hearing my name.

"Mr. Harrison would like to see you in the board room immediately." She spoke and I tried my best not to get carried away even though I definitely knew what this meant.

Dante was visiting all the departments, but I was instructed to go to the conference room, which made it seem as though I was in serious trouble. Either that, or I was getting a promotion, which I highly doubted given my recent lackluster performance.

I made sure not to cry and think positive.

Once I reached the board room I was surprised to see a few others in the room. I knew something was completely wrong especially after a female from the marketing team mentioned that we might be the ones on the list.

"You're from the human resources department, right?" She gave a head nod as I questioned her.

"Have you looked at the list of employees who might be subject to termination?" She appeared as if she was about to cry.

"Unfortunately no." She shook her head which somewhat seemed like a lie but I guess I could be wrong.

"Did Dante- I meam Mr. Harrison see you while visiting your department?" Another questioned her.

"No." I shook my head while silently praying that the lord would help me.

"Maybe were all outstanding colleagues." Another shrugged.

"Let's face it, how many of us have assigned tasks that are past due that have been due for weeks or even months?" Asked the marketing girl.

Sadly, we all admitted it, and a few of us disclosed that we had kids of our own and didn't have many family members to look after them while we were at work. We were unable to take work files outside of the premises, which is unfortunate.

A little while later, Dante strutted into the room looking dashing as always. But, at that moment, I suddenly remembered what he did to me and chose not to think back on the past.

I quickly stood not recognizing everyone was standing and that I was the only one who was sitting after he entered the room.

I was a few chairs down from him thankfully. There were about thirty of us overall in the entire room.

"You may sit." With each of his remarks, Dante's seductive voice almost made me melt, but this only made me angrier as he took a seat and I remember what he did for me.

He cheated on you, I told myself, so stop being such a moron!

"Most of you, if not all of you, must know exactly why you are here. Regrettably, if you were thinking about getting fired, your assumptions and conjectures might be accurate." Before Dante raised his hand to prohibit chatter while he was present in the room, there were a few whispers that could be heard.

"Now, after personally speaking with everyone from their different departments, I made the difficult decision to pay a visit to individuals who are regrettably on a list for termination." Sadly, I caught Dante's attention as I shifted in my seat uncomfortably and forced a hard swallow as some others were about to start crying.

His attention lingered on me for a few seconds too long, making me shy away a little, and I wondered if I had been caught until he proceeded.

"I'm here to make this company great once more and even better, so I've decided to get rid of people who are holding it back; fortunately, I'm a guy of second chances, so I'll do you all this favor and give you all one month." I soon became exhausted after hearing his parting words, yet they gave me Faith.

"I'll give you one month to convince me that you deserve to be here. You've got a month to convince me that you're just as qualified for this job as everyone else around here. Everyone in this group will be under my direct supervision for the upcoming month. I'll evaluate your progress on a weekly basis to make sure everything is on track, and if not, I'll have to let you go." Dante came to a standstill and we all gasped.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all." Dante concluded, everyone stood up to depart, and I was about to do the same but had to come to an halt.

"I'd like to speak with you privately, Faith."
