Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Let Her Know the Real Husband

The Sanchez family's consortium had hundreds of companies all over the world, covering a wide range of businesses. In River City, the Sanchez family's industries could be seen everywhere.

As Sylvia was Ternence's wife, it was hard for old Mrs. Sanchez to understand she would go around for a graduation internship in River City.

Facing the question from old Mrs. Sanchez, Ternence was very helpless about it. He raised his hands to his grandma and begged for mercy. "Grandma, it has nothing to do with me!"

"How dare you say it has nothing to do with you? Ternence, almost half of the commercial businesses in River City are owned by our family. Why didn't you arrange an internship for your wife? And now, you're passing the buck?"

"Grandma, I..." Facing old Mrs. Sanchez's anger, Ternence felt wronged.

"Grandma, don't be angry!" At this time, Sylvia had no choice but to tell the truth. "It's not his fault. It's because I don't want to work in the companies of the Sanchez family!"

"Why?" Old Mrs. Sanchez and Ternence were almost in unison in surprise.

Sylvia looked at old Mrs. Sanchez and then turned to look at Ternence who was frowning. After pondering for a while, she raised her head and replied, "Because I want to rely on my own ability to obtain what I deserve. I don't want any preferential treatment or care just because I married into the Sanchez family. So when I was looking for an internship, I deliberately avoided the companies owned by Sanchez Group."

I see!

Hearing Sylvia's words, Ternence was suddenly enlightened.

Although he never told Sylvia he had arranged an internship for her for fear of losing face, he gave her many opportunities in other secret ways. But she turned them all down in the end.

He finally understood it was because she deliberately refused the opportunities to work in Sanchez Group.

Knowing this, Ternence's eyebrows darkened a little, but old Mrs. Sanchez objected on the spot.

"Sylvia, how can you think so? You are our family. Everyone had witnessed it in River City three years ago. You should come to work under our family after graduation. And you will be the hostess of our family in the future!"

Old Mrs. Sanchez's words were full of disappointment, worry, and expectation.

Sylvia felt a little ashamed when she saw her grandma expecting so much from her. As long as she thought about the wedding being completed without the groom, she felt old Mrs. Sanchez was the only one who acknowledged her as Ternence's wife.

Sylvia bit her lips and comforted old Mrs. Sanchez, "Grandma, don't worry. It's just an internship. I was thinking of not working under the Sanchez Group during the internship. After I have achieved something with my own ability and hard work, I will consider working for Sanchez Group because it can bring me more confidence. Otherwise, I'm afraid some people in the company will judge me."

"Who dares?" Old Mrs. Sanchez was very protective toward her. After hearing what she said, Old Mrs. Sanchez took her hand very proudly.

"Sylvia, you are such a good girl with integrity. I feel proud to have you as our family. You're as tough as me when I was young!" Old Mrs. Sanchez became prouder as she spoke. Her words made people feel Sylvia really had the blood of the Sanchez family in her body!

Seeing that her grandma no longer pursued her internship, Sylvia was temporarily relieved. But she still felt ashamed as she couldn't bear to tell old Mrs. Sanchez that she didn't plan to work under Sanchez Group even after graduation. As for the real reason, Ternence also wanted to find out.

"Sylvia, why did you refuse our group?" After dinner, Ternence mentioned this matter again as soon as they returned to the upstairs room.

Hearing his questioning, Sylvia paused her steps after entering the door. After hesitating for a moment, she said perfunctorily, "Didn't I explain it clearly in the dining room?"

"Are you sure what you told grandma is your true real thoughts?" Ternence approached with doubts in his piercing eyes.

When he heard her tell grandma she was trying to prove her ability, he believed her a little. But seeing the shame on her face when she comforted his grandma, he felt there must be something in it.

Facing Ternence who was approaching with a pair of eyes that seemed to see through her, she only said, "Believe it or not!"

After she finished speaking, she hurriedly turned around and went to the bathroom, but Ternence grabbed her back and pressed her against the wall forcefully.

"Ternence, what are you doing? Let me go!" Controlled by his brutal actions, Sylvia couldn't help to struggle angrily. The next second, she heard Ternence's blurted question.

"Is it because of me that you don't want to work under our group?"

Sylvia's eyes flashed immediately. She didn't expect this man to see through her mind so easily. She turned her face away to avoid his sharp and menacing gaze. But she didn't want to pretend in front of him anymore.

She said sincerely, "Yes, I don't want to go to work under the Sanchez Group because of you. Ternence, everyone except grandma knows we are strangers in our marriage. I really don't want to face more scandals. I just want to find a place that suits me after graduation and live a peaceful life alone!"

"Alone?" Hearing Sylvia's words, Ternence's piercing gaze suddenly turned cold.

He pinched her chin and forcibly turned her face away.

He stared at Sylvia with cold eyes and asked, "So, during the three years, you've never regarded me as your husband, have you?"

"Husband?" Sylvia almost laughed when she heard the word. It sounded absurd to call him her husband in terms of the countless scandals he had with so many actresses and debutantes in the past three years, including the woman he brought home today.

Sylvia said in a sulk, "Ternence, I don't think you are qualified to be called a husband!"

"Heh! Ha ha..."

Suddenly, Ternence's bleak laughter resounded in the room.

As he smiled, the coldness in his eagle eyes finally condensed into ice. The woman in front of him said he was not qualified to be her husband.

Clearly, he had a failed marriage in these three years.

Ternence pinched Sylvia's chin and exerted force. Staring at her indifferent look, he gritted his teeth and said, "Fine! Very well. But I think you don't know what a real husband is!"

He lifted Sylvia up and threw her on the bed. Then his tall figure decisively pressed on her.

"Let go of me. Ternence, what do you want to do?" Seeing Ternence pressing down, Sylvia suddenly panicked. "You said in the car that you would never touch me again."

"But you never think I'm a gentleman, don't you! Now, I just want to be your husband!"

Ternence clasped Sylvia's wrists tightly which tried to push him away. He bowed his head and kissed her fiercely. He didn't want to hear her resistance again. It was time to teach this woman a lesson who dared to defy him!
