Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Marrying Him for Gratitude

"Sylvia, where are you going?" The car window was rolled down, revealing Ternence's stern face.

"From now on, I have nothing to do with you. I don't have to tell you where I go!" Sylvia wiped off the water mixed with tears and rain from her face and said indifferently. She walked around his car but didn't expect Ternence would get out of the car and pick her up into the passenger seat.

"Ternence, what are you doing? Open the door!" Sylvia was locked in the car and slapped the door.

"Sylvia, are you sure you want to divorce me? Don't forget you didn't even want your dignity for being my wife."

Ternence sat in the driving seat and interrupted Sylvia's struggle with cold and sarcastic words. She turned her head and glared at the man in front of her.

"I know you look down on me. But from the moment I finished that wedding three years ago by myself, I never thought of being bound with you for the rest of my life!"

After enduring for three years, Sylvia finally spoke out what she wanted to say in her heart.

"You didn't want to live with me for the rest of your life?" Hearing her words, Ternence narrowed his cold eyes. Through his piercing eyes, he could see her stubbornness and fortitude!

As Sylvia had never been stared at by him under scrutiny, she felt a little uncomfortable and turned her face away.

She said indifferently, "I know you're reluctant in this marriage, but you couldn't refuse grandma's insistence. I don't want to push others, so I will tell grandma about this."

"What do you want to say?" Ternence raised his sharp brows.

"I said I want to di..." In the next second, before Sylvia could say the word divorce, her lips were suddenly sealed by cool and softness. It was because Ternence squeezed her stubborn face and kissed her fiercely.

"Hmm..." This sudden kiss made Sylvia's eyes widen in astonishment. This was the first time he kissed her in the three years since they got married, and it was also the first intimate contact between them.

There was no gentleness in Ternence's kiss. He bit her tender lips with his sharp teeth and stretched his tongue deeply toward her throat as if he was punishing her for her words.

He didn't know where this woman got the confidence to propose a divorce to him.

"Ternence, stop!" Sylvia pushed away the man who robbed her first kiss. Her pure face was blushing and her tender lips were swollen.

Looking at her furious eyes, he said with a teasing smile, "Why should I stop? You are my legal wife. As long as I want, you have the duty!"

Ternence squeezed Sylvia's chin and approached her. A raging flame ignited in his deep eyes. He tasted the sweetness of the kiss, which left him panting for more.

When Sylvia saw him staring at her like a hunter, she felt even more ashamed and indignant. She stared at him and said, "You didn't admit I've been your wife in the past three years. But it doesn't matter because I don't need it anymore."

"It's not up to you!" Ternence's cold voice interrupted Sylvia. Seeing she was determined to give up this marriage, he was even more annoyed. He squeezed her face tightly and said to her, gritting his teeth.

"Listen. You can come and go freely in my world! Even if you want a divorce one day, you don't have the right to say it first!"

Then Ternence threw her away. He turned around and started the car quickly while Sylvia bit her lip and looked at the frosty man blankly.

She really couldn't understand why he flinched when she finally made up her mind to divorce. He obviously didn't like her, and he had ignored her since they married.

And he snatched her first kiss just now. Feeling the numbness he left on her lips, Sylvia subconsciously touched them.

But she was suddenly out of anger when recalling he took that woman home to humiliate her just now. She took a tissue in the car and wiped her lips fiercely. Then she threw it to Ternence and turned her face away.

She said, "No matter when we divorce, don't touch me again since you've touched other women! This is the only time and the last time!"

Ternence couldn't help laughing when he saw the disgust on her face. He turned to look at her again with cold and flirty eyes. "Are you playing hard to get?"

"Believe it or not, I promised grandma to marry you to repay her." Sylvia blurted out in a fury.

With a creak, Ternence stepped off the break abruptly. He stopped the car and stared at Sylvia in astonishment. "What did you say?"

Ternence's face became very gloomy. He resentfully grabbed Sylvia's slender wrist and stared at her like a cold arrow. He asked again, stressing each word. "Repeat what you just said."

Looking at Ternence's freezing face and his dangerous gaze, Sylvia couldn't help but clenched her fists. Although she felt she might have gotten on his nerves, she didn't want to suppress herself anymore tonight after enduring it for three years.

She took a deep breath, clenched her fists tightly, and finally said all the words that had been bottled up in her heart for three years.

"Ternence, I know you have always held a grudge against me because grandma insisted on you marrying me. Maybe you think I married you for the wealth and power of your family. But let me make it clear today. I agreed to this marriage just because I wanted to repay grandma."

"You should know that. When my mother was ill and I almost dropped out of school, it was grandma who found the best doctor abroad to save my mother's life. And my mother's medical expenses these years are also paid by her. She also paid for me to finish high school and college. Grandma has helped me a lot, so I..."

"Enough!" Hearing what Sylvia said, Ternence interrupted her with a cold voice. His eyes fixed on her. At this moment he finally understood she married him three years ago only to repay his grandmother's kindness.

Ternence's deep eyes overflowed with frost. He suddenly understood why she could remain calm no matter how he ignored her or tried to stimulate her in the past three years. She didn't care about his feelings at all but just regarded this marriage as a pawn to repay her gratitude.

Thinking of this, Ternence smiled. The coldness of his smile sent a chill down her spine. In the next second, he gritted his teeth and said to her.

"Sylvia, I will make you regret what you said one day. Even if you beg me to touch you in the future, I won't touch you again. Shit!"

Ternence pushed Sylvia away. He took out a bag and threw it on her. Then he stormed out and slammed the car door.
