Chapter 5 Frustated King

King was still in a bad mood, checking his emails sent to Hera that had yet to be read. He became increasingly frustrated with the situation, not to mention the pressure from his parents to get married. In two days, his parents would arrive in Indonesia to introduce him to the woman of their choice.

With the help of his personal bodyguard, Juyan, King was introduced to several women, but none of them interested him. Even Wina, the seemingly flirtatious secretary, volunteered to be King's companion. He immediately declined and felt uncomfortable with Wina.

He scanned his office, which was in disarray, with only one area looking neat, Hera's interior design. However, it wasn't complete due to the company's accusation of plagiarism, which had led to Hera quitting her job.

Suddenly, King's phone rang, displaying his mother's name on the screen. Mrs. Yesi reminded King that in two days, they would arrive in Indonesia and introduce him to a woman who would be his potential wife. However, King insisted that he had already found the right match for him.

Mrs. Yesi wasn't easily convinced by King's words. She knew that King still held his feelings for the late Gladis. Their parents were doing this solely to secure the next generation of their only child. King, as the sole heir to all of his father's wealth, had to fulfill his role.

It was time to leave the office, and King, along with his personal bodyguard, was on his way to a hotel. Juyan had once again arranged for a woman to pretend to be King's girlfriend. King was quite selective and wanted to ensure if the woman was worthy of being his girlfriend or not, even if it was just a pretend relationship.

Meanwhile, Hera was still thinking of ways to raise money for her father's medical expenses. She tried to access an online job search service, and suddenly, she came across an advertisement posted by a man looking for a paid girlfriend for a month. The conditions included no kissing and no touching, only accompanying the man to official events and being referred to as his girlfriend. Hera accepted the offer because the salary for being a paid girlfriend was one billion rupiahs. She thought that, along with mortgaging her house certificate, she could gather enough money to cover her father's medical expenses.

At a five-star hotel,

Hera had been waiting for almost over an hour, but there was no sign of a man approaching her. She thought it might all be in vain, even though she had dressed as attractively as possible to captivate the man. She was wearing a modest yet form-fitting dress that highlighted her body's curves.

Suddenly, a man entered from the entrance and didn't take his eyes off her. They locked eyes, and King stood right in front of Hera. "May I sit?" King pulled out a chair and sat right in front of Hera. "Ple...please, sir," Hera invited King to sit.

Meanwhile, two tables away, at table number six, a minor argument had broken out between a man and a woman. The woman was unhappy to see that the man's face didn't match the photo he had sent. The man accused the woman of deceiving him by dressing up so poorly that her face didn't match the photo she had sent.

This disturbance disrupted the restaurant's atmosphere, and security guards escorted the two of them away.

Juyan, who received a call from Mr. Roland, entered the hotel a little late. He also witnessed the argument between the man and woman but ignored them, passing by without acknowledging the woman. Juyan continued walking and entered the restaurant where King was.

But to his surprise, from a distance, he saw King sitting with a woman. Juyan couldn't recognize the woman because she was facing King and her back was turned. He was curious about the woman since the one he introduced to King had left the restaurant. "So, who is this woman accompanying King?" he thought to himself. "From the back, her body proportions look very proportional and sexy. Who is she?" Out of curiosity, he changed his direction to get a better look at her.

Juyan was shocked when, from a distance, he saw that the woman was Hera, the interior designer who had caused King to go into a rage due to not receiving the office interior design he desired. But he remembered what Secretary Wina had said about Hera needing money. Without King's knowledge, he had investigated Hera's situation and found out that she needed around three billion rupiahs for her father's medical expenses.

Juyan approached them. "Hey, where have you been? I've been waiting for you forever!" King said with irritation. However, Juyan paid no attention to King's grumbling and chose to focus on Hera. "Good evening, Miss Hera, how are you?" Juyan greeted Hera with a warm smile.

King was instantly puzzled about why Juyan recognized this woman. His phone beeped with a message. He quickly checked it and found it was from Juyan, which read, "Young master, it seems that Lady Luck is on your side. The woman in front of you is Miss Hera, the interior designer you've been waiting for all this time. I hope you handle Miss Hera wisely."

Just as King was about to put his phone back in his pocket, it buzzed again. He immediately checked the message and saw that it was from his mother, Mrs. Yesi, stating that their return was expedited, and they would arrive in Jakarta the next night.

King's face suddenly turned stern, and his jaw clenched. He had to make a decision quickly. "So, you are Hera? The one who designed my office?" Hera was suddenly confused. Then Juyan explained that King was the owner of the office she had designed. "Juyan has sent several emails to you, Miss Hera, but why haven't you ever opened them?" King asked, glaring at Hera. "I'm...I'm sorry, sir. Lately, I've been busy with something," Hera replied.

"Okay, my offer in that email was not much, forget it," but Hera was curious and decided to open her email. She was surprised to see that Quality TBK had offered her a salary of one billion to resume designing the CEO's office.

"Miss Hera, please pay attention," Hera glanced at King. "Listen to me carefully. I will make you a bigger offer if you follow what I want, and I will pay you five times the previous offer," King said cautiously.

"What do you mean, sir?" she asked, puzzled. King continued, "You will become my paid wife for one year. We will be a legally married couple, recognized both by law and religion. There will be no touching, just as a wife on paper. Do you agree?"

Juyan, who was listening to King's words, was stunned and couldn't believe that his boss was making such a bold move. Hera was equally flabbergasted but was brought back to reality by her ringing phone.
