Chapter 4 I Am Pregnant, Hubby

An uncomfortable silence filled the ward as Andrea Singers hurriedly left without acknowledging the handsome middle-aged man and his companion who brought her to the hospital.

The doctor, wearing a doubtful expression, began, "Mr. Singers..." But before he could finish what he wanted to say, the middle-aged man interjected, "Thank you for looking after my wife."

The doctor nodded his eyebrows furrowed in contemplation, Mr. Singers quickly departed the ward with his assistant.

As they exited the ward, the scent of disinfectant assaulted their nostrils.

"Mr. Singers, why didn't you correct the assumption of the doctor that the woman isn't your wife?" inquired his assistant.

Mr. Singers responded calmly, his expression unreadable. "Tony, If she isn't already my wife, she will be. Investigate her for me; I want to know everything about her."

Mr. Singers' assistant was dismayed by his boss's decision to marry a woman he considered unattractive and unworthy. "Boss, why her? She's not pretty, and she's carrying someone else's child. She's not fit to be Mrs. Singers," Tony protested.

"Being Mrs. Singers isn't about good looks. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been single for thirty years, Tony," Mr. Singers replied calmly, his expression unreadable.

Tony was left speechless by Mr. Singers' response and quickly went to carry out his assigned task.

After leaving the hospital, Andrea Singers rushed to Val. Corp. and made her way to the president's office wearing a hospital gown.

"Mrs. Andrea, you can't go in," Valentine Anderson's secretary tried to stop her from entering the president's office.

Anxious and eager to share the news she had heard at the hospital, Andrea ignored the secretary's attempts to stop her she rushed toward the president's door, but the secretary quickly grabbed her arm and pleaded, "Mrs. Andrea, please don't make things difficult for me. The president has given strict orders not to allow anyone in."

Despite the slender secretary's efforts, Andrea, who weighed two hundred pounds, pulled her towards the door, insisting emotionally, "I am here to see my husband; you can't stop me from seeing him."

As Andrea pushed the door open, she was met with a shocking sight that left her frozen in place, her expression shifting from dark to pale. Her husband's trousers were down to his ankles as he stood behind a naked figure pinned to the office table, lost in their passionate sex. Neither of them noticed Andrea's presence.

The lady pinned to the table eyes squinted as she moaned. When she noticed Andrea, a smug expression appeared on her face, and her moans grew louder with each thrust.

"Spank my butts, baby!" Rose Ferguson urged.

Unable to bear the sight, Andrea turned away, tears falling to the marble floors. She left the office, passing by the secretary's desk with a heavy heart.

"Mrs. Andrea...," called Valentine Anderson's secretary.

Andrea Singers, overwhelmed with sorrow, was unable to utter a single word or even register what the secretary was saying.

Leaving Val. Corp., she hailed a taxi and headed to a bar. Stepping out of the taxi, she entered the bar and promptly ordered a bottle of alcohol. Despite drinking glass after glass, she found herself unable to get tipsy.

A scowl formed on Andrea's face. "Did Valentine instruct you not to serve me alcohol? Is he afraid of losing his unborn child?" she shouted at the top of her lungs in suspicion.

"I was the one who gave the order," a deep voice responded. dignified Mr. Singers entered the bar with purposeful strides, drawing the attention of everyone present, particularly the women. He seemed to be the focal point of the bar.

Walking over to where Andrea Singers sat, furrowing her eyebrows as she contemplated where she had met Mr. Singers, he shifted a chair and sat down in front of her.

"Who are you? Are you sent by Valentine? Tell him I won't keep this baby," Andrea Singers gritted her teeth in anger as she glared at Mr. Singers with animosity.

Mr. Singers, with an expressionless face, responded in his deep, magnetic voice, "He isn't worthy; I am here to marry you. Be my wife."

Andrea Singers' eyes widened in shock at Mr. Singers' response. The shock on her face was like the difference between heaven and earth compared to the one on her face when she was informed of her pregnancy.

The longer Andrea gazed at Mr. Singers, the more her expression turned incredulous, as if she were staring at a madman. With a dry laugh, she remarked, "How could someone as handsome as you marry someone as plain and overweight as me? Despite being older, you look nothing like your age, sir. Are you trying to make a mockery of me?"

In response to Andrea's words, Mr. Singers replied calmly, "I mean every word. If you give the word, I will marry you and you will become Mrs. Singers, inheriting the Singers Group. You can seek retribution against your husband and his mistress, and anyone who has caused you pain."

The more Andrea listened to the exceptionally handsome man, the more she became convinced of her initial suspicion that he was indeed insane.

Suddenly, Andrea stood up and fled without looking back. As she exited the bar, she patted her chest and took a deep breath, shaken by the encounter with the eccentric man.

After hailing a taxi, she hurried back home, her heart filled with anticipation as she noticed the lights were on. Upon opening the front door, she was greeted by the sight of her husband, Valentine Anderson, waiting for her in the living room.

As Valentine raised his head, their eyes locked, but instead of warmth, a look of disdain clouded his features. "Why haven't you signed the divorce papers?" he asked icily.

The joy of seeing her husband waiting for her quickly dissipated for Andrea. She forced a bitter smile and replied, "I'm carrying our child, hubby. We're going to have a baby."

A radiant smile spread across her face, only to vanish at Valentine's response.
