Chapter 4 The Leader Of Luminary Group

Five years ago, the Luminary Group burst onto the scene, quickly making its mark with bold strategies like mergers and acquisitions.

Expanding into different areas such as hotels, finance, manufacturing, electronics, and artificial intelligence, the Luminary Group quickly grew into a multinational powerhouse, challenging the dominance of the four major families.

However, the identity of the Luminary Group's leader was a well-guarded secret.

Rumors were swirling that this mysterious individual never showed up in public, and no one knew their gender or age. Zayd Wood often stood in for the boss during public events.

But today was different. The elusive head of the Luminary Group made a rare office appearance.

"Any theories on our mysterious boss who's always out of sight?"

"Some say our boss could be tied to an overseas finance syndicate. Their tactics are cutthroat and sophisticated. I'm betting on a man, maybe older than forty-five..."

"It's hard to say. Since the young Zayd is the go-to person, perhaps our boss is an older woman who favors younger men."

Whispers filled the meeting room as many senior executives speculated. Curiosity hung heavy in the air as they wondered about the mysterious leader who had employed them for years.

Then, the sound of leather soles on marble echoed down the hallway.

The door creaked open, unveiling a tall, commanding figure dressed in a suit, flanked by the executive vice president and personal assistant, Zayd.

A wave of surprise swept the room as everyone caught their first glimpse.

"Good day to all. I'm Shane, the White family's youngest son and your leader at Luminary Group. I'm eager to join forces and further our success. Thank you," Shane announced.

He then strode to the head of the table, exuding an air of refined authority.

With a subtle smile on his face, his intense gaze exuded authority, prompting everyone to straighten up. At that moment, the room grew quiet as each person contemplated the enduring rumors about the White family.

Rumors had swirled about Shane, the alleged rebel from the White family, said to have been cast out overseas following a scandal with his sister-in-law six years ago.

Yet here Shane was, having built an empire in five short years, now standing toe-to-toe with the White Group.

The executives, surprised by the sudden change, stood up from their seats and bowed in recognition, treating Shane as if confronting a powerful opponent. "Welcome back to lead the group," they said together.

Shane acknowledged their respect with a brief nod, expressing approval of their achievements in the last five years. "Please, be seated," he instructed.

It was only after that the executives dared to take their seats again, some realizing the gravity of the situation, feeling their backs moistened with nervous sweat.

Their boss Shane's demeanor was unlike what the rumors had suggested.

The meeting then got underway.

The meeting explored past events, looked ahead to future opportunities, and finalized the company's main projects for the next year.

As the meeting wrapped up, guided by Zayd, he reminded them, "Mr. White prefers to keep his identity a secret publicly. Everyone's clear on our protocol, right?"

"Yes. We'll keep it confidential," the executives assured, collecting their notes and exiting with renewed apprehension.

Shane watched them leave, then casually sipped his drink.

Once the door to the meeting room shut, Zayd shared his thoughts, "I doubt anyone expected the infamous Shane White to be the leader of the Luminary Group today. Yet, secrets tend to come out. It's likely only a matter of time before your family learns of your comeback..."

Shane coolly brushed off the concern, saying, "I've been out of the game for too long. Now's the moment to step back in and show what I'm capable of."

"Everything will fall into place. I'm confident you'll regain what was once yours," Zayd offered some encouragement.

Shane offered a slight smile in response.

Zayd continued, "Boss, the older woman you met last night is no longer an issue. She's probably still unaware of who you are, attracted to you based on appearance alone."

Shane's face grew stern. "And the girl from my room last night?"

"I've done some digging on her, uncovering something quite interesting," Zayd revealed, handing Shane an iPad. "She's put up a marriage ad online."

"A marriage ad?"

Shane's smirk conveyed his disdain as he scanned the ad, which detailed the woman's preference for a man free of gambling problems and mental health issues, eager to tie the knot quickly.

Even though Shane had proposed to take responsibility by marrying her in the morning, she had turned him down.

A twinge of insult brushed Shane.
