Chapter 4 04

CHAPTER 4

LINCOLN'S POV

I woke up the next morning to find myself in bed with some girl, I did not even bother to look at the girl and just cleaned up and left. I dropped some money in the drawer though before I left.

She had been someone I had been waiting for, like to blow off some steam and well she delivered. Though I could not remember much cause I was not myself, I was in my head alright and in my defense, I was having a very bad night and that girl did a good job in making me be able to use her to blow off some steam. And it was the first time in a long while I had done something like that.

But now I have no idea why I can't get her out of my head, her body, how she felt in my arms. Although I could not remember her face and I felt this pull but I guess she was just an interesting person, still I wanted to know who she was, "Fuck!", I sighed and rubbed my face.

"Someone is not in a good mood", my Beta walked in, the closest friend I had, "Here you go Alpha Lincoln, a coffee to clear up your mind as you enlighten me on what have you so distracted that you haven't even done any work, that's unlike you".

"Shut up", I said to him abruptly, taking that coffee from him and drinking everything at go. Sometimes he sure as hell pisses me off but in a good way.

"Now I am sure, something is up", my Beta, Sean said as he made himself comfortable in my office.

I could not help myself and told him everything, well I was kind of bound to tell him everything unless he definitely would not let me breathe.

"So you are saying, you felt some pull and spark for this girl? Way to go man", Sean chuckled and raised his hand for a high five but I slapped it away.

"I'm serious, I can't make out what it was and I did not even stay in the morning cause I just- you know why...I needed to clear my head".

"I understand", Sean hummed, "What if she was the one? What if you finally found her?", Sean questioned.

"Found who Sean?", I asked, picking up some documents and arranging them.

"Your mate of course".

I had not thought about that and I had given up on finding a mate a long time ago. Even if with some of my flings and one-night stands, no one was good enough to stand by my side and I haven't found anyone on the other hand, I am strong enough to handle my pack alone.

"She can't be", I ended the discussion there.

"But what if she is Lincoln, I know you can take on the pack alone but sometimes we need someone to be by our side. It would be good to know that there is someone to always come back to", Sean sighed and explained to me.

"Enough Sean! My mate will not be a freaking whore that sleeps around for money or whatever", just the thought of it was already making me mad.

"Don't judge a book by its cover dear Alpha".

"Here, take this to the Alpha of Riverdale. That should keep you busy and away from pestering me", I quickly assigned Sean to a job.

He groaned but left cause he knew I was not in the mood to talk about it anymore. My day went as normal and I still found myself in thoughts. Later that night I decided to take a walk, do some hunting, and relieve some stress.

I had gone too far from my pack and that's when I saw them. A way to relieve my anger and confusion, "Rogues."

It did not take me a second to use my arrow and I was very fast enough to bring every one of them down, successfully saving the young lady, they were trying to feast on. I don't know what moved me to save her but I did. I knew she would come to me but I did not want to put myself into any complications and so before she did...I left, plus those rogues made me feel better, I chuckled to myself as I headed back to my pack.

Let's call it a night.

MONTANA'S POV

I tried finding a way to trace him but it was like he just disappeared into thin air. That said, I gave up, I was never going to find him anyway and I had to find a safe place to rest for tonight.

Luckily for me, I did find a place and slept there. The next morning I got up and for some days I went to different packs asking for refuge and to be part of them but I was either chased or turned down.

"I don't feel good, every place has turned me down", I spoke to myself as all I had now was myself.

My former pack was far away from Chicago and the new town I was now in and I traveled in my wolf form as I had no money on me for normal transport. And well this was normal to me anyway.

"I am going to survive, no matter what", I assured myself standing in a town where I knew no one I had heard there was a pack here but I gave up on joining any pack after all the rejections, "I can do this on my own".

Maybe this time around the Moon Goddess was with me cause I looked for a job, I suffered through, eating from hand to mouth and finally, I got some jobs, I did different jobs just to be able to finally get a roof over my head, no matter how little, it was something for the meantime till I was fully recovered.

One month had passed now and everything was going so well, I had gotten a very good job as a translator from English to Spanish or Spanish to English. Yes, my mother was Mexican and it was in my blood, even after she passed and when I had the opportunity, I learned that language to the core, I loved it and always wanted to be good at it, just like my mum and now I am perfect in it and so I worked as a language translator.

It paid me so well. Everything was going smoothly for me, I had finally found my ground until I found out something that was bound to change everything.
