"Sullivan Group's Isaac Norris Suspected of Extramarital Affair, Mistress Pregnant!"

Isaac didn't waste any time and angrily called Carly to confront her.

"Is this your doing? You've really crossed the line this time! If Hannah ends up hurt because of this, I won't let you off the hook!"

Carly just laughed it off, sounding utterly unfazed.

"You're talking about that scandal online, right? Trust me, it wasn't me. If I had wanted to stir up trouble, I would've done it two years ago. And let's not forget, with Sullivan Group's shares taking a dive, I'm the one who stands to lose the most as the future heiress."

Isaac paused, digesting her words. She did make a valid argument.

"So, you're saying you had nothing to do with this? Don't think you can fool me!"

"It wasn't me, I swear. Maybe you should be asking Hannah and her daughter if they've offended someone."

After dropping that suggestion, Carly ended the call.

Isaac's frown deepened as he looked between Hannah and Rosalyn. "Who have you mentioned the pregnancy to?"

Rosalyn replied with a hint of frustration, "Dad, you asked us to keep this quiet. I haven't shared it with anyone. Only Carly knows, so it has to be her!"

Isaac trusted Rosalyn; he knew she wouldn't lie to him. Noticing Hannah's reluctance to meet his gaze, he asked in a stern voice, "Hannah, who have you talked to about this?"

Hannah's voice shook, and her breathing quickened.

"Honey, just a few friends are aware. But I'm certain they didn't spread the word!"

These "friends" were actually acquaintances from affluent families who looked down on her, branding her as a home wrecker unable to have a son.

The moment Hannah found out she was expecting a boy, she couldn't resist sharing the news. The satisfaction she felt was immense.

"Idiot!"

Isaac's frustration boiled over. "How many times have I said, with Lindsey still in the hospital, we need to keep things quiet! The news is out, and our company's stock has plummeted. Do you have any idea what the board members are saying about me now? Hannah, why do you make things harder for me? You're just pulling me down!"

Hannah had never been reprimanded like that before, and she immediately started crying.

"Honey, I didn't mean to upset you. I promise it won't happen again. Please, don't stay mad. It frightens me when you're angry!"

Seeing her distress, Rosalyn rushed to Isaac's side and implored him, "Dad, Mom realizes her mistake. Can't you forgive her? She's expecting, and it's not good for her to be so stressed!"

Isaac clenched his jaw but finally let his anger subside.

"Alright, because you're carrying a child, I'll overlook it this time. But be careful. If there's a next time, you're all leaving!"

With that, Isaac, pressed for time, hurried back to work after his harsh warning.

That afternoon, whether from the pregnancy's strain or the day's shock, Hannah began to bleed.

At the hospital, after some tests, the doctor sadly told her she had miscarried.

Rosalyn thought to call Isaac, but Hannah stopped her.

"Are you out of your mind? I can't let my baby's death be for nothing!"

"Mom, what are you planning?"

Hannah's face, usually so carefully made up, was now etched with malice.

"That buzz must be that bitch Carly's work! My baby's gone because of her, and she's going to pay dearly for it!"

The bathroom was steamy, with water cascading over captivating shapes.

Carly stared at the red marks scattered across her skin, clenching her teeth in fury.

That despicable man had forced her into lingerie and played with her throughout the night.

He had done everything except for the last step... It was unforgivable!

He had to stay away, or she would make him wish he had.

After getting herself together, Carly headed to the hospital to see her mother.

The medication had made Lindsey quieter and more inclined to sleep.

Currently, she was drifting off in her hospital bed.

Her complexion was pallid, and her body had become frail. She appeared very ill.

The vibrant beauty she once possessed was gone.

The pain Carly felt was so intense it was hard to catch her breath.

She couldn't forget her grandpa's last words before he died.

"Carly, your mom is strong. She would never take her own life! You have to promise me! Fight to defend your mom's honor!"
