Chapter 8 THE WEDDING EVE.

NASSIM ROAD, THE RAVEN MANSION.

VALKYRIE'S POV.

I know I'd been here before, but the ravens estate was just too big, too wide, too enormous, too extravagant, did I mention too big? Ok!

It had been two weeks since I returned to Changi, meaning two weeks since I knew Aella and started befriending her, or at least she thought we were friends. I had an enormous hate for her kind but I was willing to go through the faking, to care for her, so I could get whatever information I could, even possibly become a part of the family.

I mean keep your friends close, your enemies closer.

It was D day today, the wedding eve, meaning bachelorette night. Meaning lots of alchohol, throwing up and crying your eyes out, except I won't cry so...

The best wedding planners had been hired to plan this big, and I mean big wedding within just two weeks, the package also included the bachelorette's party.

And that's why I was in front of the raven mansion. I was supposed to pick the bride up. I promised the wedding planner I would get her to the party safe and sober. The girls were already at the yacht waiting.

Aella made it clear she didn't want the media or anyone in particular to know the location of the party. It was strictly the bridesmaids, a decision which her mom stood against so many times. But Aella was a a tough one, she didn't give a damn the number of cries that came from her close ones and the media who both wanted everyone to be a part of the affair.

Hailey in particular (I had learned that was the name of the former maid of honor) tried sneaking into one of our meetings to get a glimpse on who I was, I wasn't comfortable that she was curious but Aella immediately blocked her off based on her own rage.

During the wedding rehearsal, one groomsman was hell bent on taking a selfie with me but Starfire came to my rescue having the ridiculous mindset that she was supposed to be the centre of attention. I don't mean to be proud or anything but I have to ask, did she miss me? I am damn hot and it's unmissable, not to mention unforgettable.

I tried navigating with the enormous map to where the maid said Aella would be.

There she was, "What are you doing? We are running late!" I found her in a pool sipping a drink from a glass.

When she remained quiet, I noticed something was wrong.

"Why the gloomy face?" I asked.

"How am I supposed to go for a bachelorette party without sipping a single wine?" she replied.

"Are you sad about your condition Aella?" I sat with my feet in the water after taking off my shoes.

"No I want my baby. I love my baby. It's just, just I wished I wasn't getting married now simply because I'm pregnant" Aella lamented.

Now I was confused, didn't she want this marriage?

"Aella, I thought you loved Declan" I expressed.

I took her glass from her, I couldn't have her full to the point she wouldn't be able to drink anything at the party.

"I love him" she said but I noticed a tone of bitterness. "That's probably my greatest weakness" she revealed to me yet another secret that I shouldn't have known.

"He's the one who doesn't love me as much Valkyrie. I was the one who pushed this marriage. I know he wanted me to get pregnant but he never wanted marriage, he didn't love me enough to want to be my husband,"

"I don't believe that Aella, I see the way he looks at you. He does love you" I lied straight out of my mouth.

Surprisingly though she brightened up at my words.

"Do you mean that?"

No shit! How am I supposed to even mean that, I'm not the one who sleeps and cuddles him, how the hell am I supposed to know if the guy loves you?

"Yes Aella, I do. I think he loves you dearly" Gosh I was getting good at this.

"You're a good friend Valkyrie"

"You don't say!" I muttered lowly enough so she wouldn't hear.

"You know what?" She piped up suddenly, "I'm gonna get my ass up and grab life by its butt, I'm gonna go for that party!" She declared.

"Yayyy!" I made a sarcastic throw of my hands in mock excitement. But she didn't even notice that too cos she was so invested in her feelings right now.

"I'm gonna party my ass out!!!" She shrieked running inside to change I assume.

"No drinking, remember?" I had to remind her. Vengeance or not. There was an innocent little thing inside her.

I got a text from the planner asking for the lady of the night and I replied with 'on my way'.

According to my research on Aella's family. I gathered they were small and mighty. They didn't really appear to be trying hard on social media, they don't need live streams to flaunt their priceless accessories like celebrities do, the media took it upon themselves to do just that. Now that was not a surprise to me considering the fact that they didn't lack the the looks or power, and another very important fact, that I knew they held an important rank in the Pandora society.

It was really no secret, the Ravens were the head of the terrorizing mafia that everyone loved. Only if they knew what that mafia group had done fifteen years ago.

Of course I didn't know details of the secret life of those heartless beast responsible for my parents death. That's where the wedding comes up, I intend to get as close to this family so much that they would almost not be able to let me go, for now, Aella was my key into the Raven's family.

And that's why I wasn't taking a single drop of alcohol during the bachelorette party, so I could stay by Aella's side and make sure she didn't have some herself. Then again, people always spill when they're drunk so I wasn't about to.

By 2am, the other girls were already so wasted they could barely form a proper sentence without a noisy snort or belching the foul residue of their immorality on each other's faces.

Keyword being 'immoral'.

Starfire or whatever her name was, rigged the arrangements and ordered a dozen strippers to the yachth by midnight. And before you even ask, there was a lady there from the wedding planners to supervise the party, but she was too drunk to object, and I'm pretty sure one of those hefties was balls deep into her.

I always thought she was kinda like a slut.

Anyways, I offered to take Aella home and she readily accepted, maybe because of the pregnancy, unlike all her friends, she wanted nothing to do with the gigolos.

"Goodnight Aella, are you sure you don't need me to walk you inside and make sure you're tucked into bed?" I asked for the umpteenth time.

Aella ducked her pretty face through my winded down glass and flashed a million dollar smile.

"I'll be alright by myself Valkyrie, thanks for being such a good friend, and a darling. I couldn't help notice you didn't touch a single drink, even Brie couldn't get her hands off those expensive wine"

I smiled at her knowledge of the wedding planners representative tonight.

"I'll make sure to make a complain first thing in the morning," I waved my phone at her. "I took some pictures"

"I love you Valkyrie!" She declared.

"Now shooo!!!" I said, "go to bed" you need to look beautiful for your big day"

"Goodnight!" She chirped.

"Goodnight" I replied before zooming away from the Raven property.

There was something off about this house. An erie feeling of being followed, being watched even when no one was around.

Did they know of my existence? We're they only waiting for the perfect moment to kill me too?
