Chapter 1 Waking up

The rays of the sun entered into my room through the window lightening up the room , reminding me that it's a new morning . I checked the tym it was already 8:00 am oh my Goodness I will be late for work .

I quickly rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and have a quick shower , cause I was already getting late for work. I rushed down to the dining table to have my break fast .

Thinking I will be having a peaceful breakfast without any interruptions but my wishes and thought failed when I heard my step mom voice.

Stella we're are u rushing to this morning ? I got work to do charlottes I shouted back . Then I heard the most annoying voice ever , stella don't u dare address my wife in such manner .

I quickly apologize thinking it will solve the issue but no it didn't . Then I heard that annoying voice again , stella were do u think ur going ? Am going to work father , since when did u start working and where ? He asked again , I just got the job last week , and I work as a waitress at amber restaurant .

Since your mother died you have not only brought shame but also disgrace , for saint peters sake why will u be working in a restaurant?

Why can't u behave like your sister and make the family proud ?

If they is anything I hate it's been compared to Amelia , I turned towards her seeing her grinning at me .

I felt like punching her and remove that grin from her face , but I couldn't right now because of the personality she had built ; to be seen as gentle and sweet.

Sister please don't take what dad said to heart he just wants the best for u , I scoffed hearing what she said , if I didn't know her I would think that she is just been thoughtful but knowing that was one of her tactics I let it slide .

After this whole drama I boarded a taxi my Work place I was scared knowing I was late and I might get fired .

As I entered I met the angry face of my manager I knew I was in big trouble .

Stella is this de time a normal employee is supposed to come to work ?

I was shivering because I was scared I would loose my job .Am really sorry sir , I promise it won't happen again . Oh God please save me I prayed in my mind.

Miss Stella I hope you will keep to your promise, because if this repeats it self next, you would kiss your job goodbye .

Upon hearing this i Was so happy , thank you so much sir , for giving me a second chance , I promise to cherish it .

Suit yourself miss Stella and get to work quickly before I change my mind. He said that and left .

I hurried with the speed of light to the changing room , I changed my cloth to our uniform forgetting to look at the mirror cause I was really in a haste

I met my very best friend Annie on my way to the kitchen . Hey baby , hi sweet heart , why are you coming by this time , and how did u get pass manager Ethan without been fired?

Annie one question at a time , I said before laughing cause it was funny given the expression on her face

Okay , to answer your first question I got into an argument with my dad his wife and Amelia.

And for the second question I just pleaded with him and he allowed me to stay . That's all .

Just that , are u sure she asked and I said yes that means you're really lucky , cause he fired someone for coming late a minute before you came .

Hearing this I knew the heavens were on my side , the thought of loosing my job made me sick.

It's like you both have nothing to do , when I heard that voice I felt like my heart left my body for some seconds and I came to my senses . No sir we chorused together . Now get back to work he commanded.

We left to our various stand . The restaurant was a bit crowded today , cause customer kept coming and leaving .

To the point we're we ran out of orders , we were all very busy that we forgot it was already past midnight . We received an order from our manager that we can go home and take a day off tomorrow.

With extra commission inclusive as compensation for extra time . This alone lightened my mood cause I was already regretting coming to work today.

Leaving my work place I knew I had trouble waiting for me at home , the thought of it alone makes me want to cry ,cause I don't feel wanted since the death of my mother.

I immediately called my boyfriend Carlton , cause I saw tons of messages from him.

Hey babe , Stacey were are u , I've been calling you ur not taking my call, sorry babe I worked extra time today , you would have called , you got me scared , am really sorry.

Were are u now ? , On my way home I said ,okay stay safe and see you tomorrow love you , love you too .

The call ended , since they was no taxi or cab on the road I decided to walk back home. On reaching there I saw no one on the dining table I felt relieved because , I was not ready for a question and answer section . Hurried to my room , took my bath , wore my night gown and lay on my bed cause I was really tired . I drifted to the land of slumber .
