I turned to the maiden dressing me up. "When will he arrive?'' I wanted to see his cute face once again. He's more handsome than that dickhead that abandoned me. "He will be here soon, before the marriage begins." the maiden replied and I pulled my lips into a smile.
"Who knows if his first wife will be present?" I muttered and shoved my hair.
"She is supposed to, but she might not because she never welcomed you from the start." the maiden replied. I didn't even know she overheard me.
Who cares if I'm welcome or not? Clay loves me and that's the most important thing because I wouldn't want to fall into the hands of someone like Tyler the second time. Clay is the one I'm getting married to and not him-so she will either cooperate with me as her co-wife or mind her business.
I have a target and she won't be an obstruction.
"Your presence is needed at the ceremonial ground, Your Highness..." another maiden announced at the doorpost.
I spun around before the maiden and the mirror. "How do I look?"
"It's a pleasure having such a goddess as our princess." she complimented and I blushed. No one has ever called me beauty, not even Tyler, who thinks he's everything a woman wants. I took my hand fan and walked out of the room majestically only to stumble on my stepmother and stepbrother.
They were dressed up as well, walking past the passageway that leads to the ceremonial ground. But, they should be there by now, what brought them into the building again? I bowed to them but a resounding hiss hit my ear.
"Lycan Princess indeed. You must be happy that Alpha Clay is the next Lycan King..." my stepbrother uttered.
I wasn't ready to say a word when I was sure she wasn't done with all she had in mind.
"Poor girl, you were brought back only to be arranged to a stranger because of the throne. Your greedy mother badly wants to be the next Luna Queen Dowager, and I don't blame her stupidity," she added and chiseled her face.
Was that jealousy or pure hatred?
"First, my mother isn't either greedy or stupid....mind the words you use on your co-wife." I slammed back at her.
She smirked. "Are you even sure she's your mother or that the King is your father? Don't you wish to know the secret between the agreement she had with Clay for your marriage? Maybe you'll find out when things become tough-and then you'll know that the throne belongs to your stepbrother and not that stranger." she retorted.
I glanced at her son and sighed. "When the time reaches, we will all know the secret behind my disappearance, return, and then the marriage.....so don't be too fast." I snapped and walked away leaving them to hollow in guilty conscience.
I have a bad feeling about them, it's either they are behind everything, or just in support and then jealous of me. But come to think of it, why is it that my stepbrother isn't the next King? Why would the moon goddess leave my family and make another Alpha from a different Clan the next King and then he turned out to be my mate?
This is more than I could imagine. It's either because I am the first issue of the King, and so my mate is likely to be the next king or something else that I don't know.
I walked past the passageway down to the veranda, everywhere looked empty. There were no single guards around, even the maidens that had been serving me all vanished in a twinkle of an eye. "How do I locate the wedding ground? Am I expected to go there alone?" my face contorted.
"Can't you go alone? Then I'll go with you." came a masculine familiar voice. I turned to see Tyler smiling sheepishly. "You think being the Lycan Princess means that you'll have servants all over you right?" he clapped his hands.
I stepped back. I just hope this wasn't staged, if not, where are the servants?
"Look, I am back to take you with me and you can't resist," he added.
"Did you forget? I am not just Elena, I am not the Lycan Princess, so a little scratch on me will put down your pack and turn them into slaves.'' I blurted but he smirked. "Says Luna to be of the next Lycan King. Do you even know if he's still alive? He must be dead by now.'' He dragged me by my hands but I kicked his legs and he let go of me.
I tried running but bounced back, then looked around to see lots of masked assassins.
"They killed him on his way to your wedding, so I'll take you with me. Don't panic, those maidens are from my pack, I only disguised them for now and you'll still meet them there," he stated boldly.
I gasped in shock. "Are you saying that you abducted my servants and disguised those bullshits?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "Clay lost his life because of you, so better comply to avoid the servants losing their lives as well."
Tears dropped down from my eyes. "Clay can't be dead. He can't die just like that after I was ready to fight with him."
"Fight? Who exactly do you want to fight? Just tell me and I'll help you conquer." he chipped in.
I pulled out my footwear and hit it on him several times until one of the men surrounding me held me up.
"You already chose your Luna, how dare you tamper with the life of my Alpha?" I screamed, struggling to be free but the grip was withholding. I can't believe this forsaken thing so easily. Clay is a Lycan and shouldn't be killed by a werewolf.
"He was killed with a silver...." Tyler announced like he read my mind.
A scorching heat enveloped me that moment, silver is one thing that kills any wolf. Out of anger, I threw my footwear on him leaving a deep cut on his skin ... but the guy holding me knocked me out. I felt dizzy for a few seconds and then slumped into his arms.
