Chapter 2 2

RAMON'S POV

"Hey, dude! Glad you're back,"

Chase, my friend hugged me and gave me a high five. He was standing with some of our friends and old classmates. They all turned to me and waved when I reached the group.

It felt good to be back. Let me introduce myself, I am Ramon Bridge, the beta's son, and soon-to-be beta. Well, that's what I hoped!

So, two years back when our pack was offered this 'Intensified pack training' idea by the Alpha of the Gray pack, both me and Jonas, the next alpha were supposed to join it but that idiot best friend of mine gave god knows what reason to our current Alpha, his father and I had to leave him alone. He is lucky that his father is our Alpha, or else I would have dragged him with me to the end of the world. Things had been tough in training, that was obvious considering the name was 'INTENSIFIED'. There was no time left after the training every single day, not even for my love, Sandra.

Sandra was heartbroken when I told her about leaving. Speaking of her, she has not spoken to me for the past five or six months. Initially, she was sad and angry that I left her but later she understood that it was vital for werewolves. I tried to keep in touch with her through texts, emails, and Facetime whichever was possible but with the pack training schedule, it was becoming impossible to remain connected. Somehow, we managed these years apart and I am sure she'll be surprised to see me back. I had not informed her or anyone for that matter about my return.

A deep, long kiss and my baby would melt in my arms, I hope that will take care of her anger. A man can only hope.

"Where is Jonas?" I asked as we started walking slowly in the hallway.

"Don't know bro, he has been acting pretty strange for the past few months, "Chase shrugged his shoulders, scratching his imaginary beard. He was still the same and didn't change a bit over the two years.

"You mean stranger than his usual strange," I asked raising one of my eyebrows before we both started laughing.

"Yeah.. you can say that," Chase replied in between the laughter.

"You can say what?" Someone asked loudly. We stopped laughing and turned to find Mr. Strange, 'The great to be alpha' , Jonas standing right behind us.

"Ramon! When did you... " Jonas jumped on me before smiling wide and he is our next alpha! God save the pack.

"Surprise Alpha!" I said trying to push him off me. He made funny faces before letting me go.

Jonas finally relaxed, "What were you guys talking about?" He asked while running his fingers through his hair. I could see he needed a haircut immediately. I wonder how his mother, our Luna, didn't do that already.

"Uh, that.." I was thinking about what to say when Chase replied.

"We were talking about the school and stuff... you know." Chase said, animatedly waving his arms around.

My best friends, the werewolves, are at their weirdest best. I rolled my eyes again, I had done that twice in the last hour or so, that was normal when I am around these guys.

I looked around, but he was nowhere to be seen, "So, our human is not anywhere around. Did he not come to school today? What happened?"

Jonas had a smile on his face, "Adam boy must be with his lady love,"

"Excuse me, what?" I asked, taking a double take."You're telling me Adam is dating and none of you cared to tell me about it, till now?"

I was furious, we never kept secrets from each other even though we were wolves and Adam was human, he knew everything about us and to think that they kept such a big thing from me.

Chase put his arms around my shoulder.

"We wanted to surprise you and I have a strong feeling you are going to loooovveee this surprise," He completed with a smirk and an extra emphasis on the word love, I wondered what was going on in that devil's mind.

I shrugged and took my phone out. Strangely, Sandra hadn't replied to my text.

"Guys, do you have any idea where Sandra is? I tried calling and texting her but she could not be reached, "I looked, "and she is not anywhere here,"

Chase left my shoulders and bent down to look at something, wondering what was so interesting on the floor. Jonas looked here and there rubbing his neck before mumbling.

"Um.. she might be... um... somewhere, I gotta go. See you during lunch break." And with that, he sprinted off in the opposite direction. Puzzled, I looked at Chase, he stood up leaving whatever he was looking for on the floor, and pulled me with him.

"Come on let's go. You'll be late for your first lesson after two years,"

I was still confused, but I let him pull me towards our class. We had reached the lockers when out of nowhere a citrus scent hit me strongly. My eyes widened and my heart started beating rapidly, A soothing yet calm wave passed through my whole body and I found myself going in the direction of the delectable fragrance. This only meant one thing, my mate was here. I knew Sandra was around here somewhere, I have always felt that she would be my mate and today it was going to be true.

"She is here," Devon, my wolf said excitedly.

After pushing through the students, I looked around and followed the scent. I could see a couple kissing in front of one of the lockers but why was I being led there? As I got closer to them, Devon, my wolf started getting angry seeing the scene in front of us. I couldn't help the growl that escaped my throat. My eyes started flickering between blue and black, which meant only one thing that Devon was trying to take charge of my body. He was getting impatient with every passing second.

I stood rooted in that place when the couple jumped apart. I couldn't see her face as she was facing the locker. She slowly turned and looked into my eyes. I could hear my heart beating loudly and my mouth just fell open.

"What the... YOU?"
