Stephanie, adorned in haute couture, her flawless makeup enhancing her otherworldly presence, commanded attention effortlessly.

While her beauty was undeniable, many pondered whether someone like her should be confined to a mere decorative role at home. Despite her supposed role of the heiress to the Gilbert family, doubts lingered about her ability to manage such a vast enterprise. It was nothing playing house.

"Mr. Howard, isn't this rather abrupt?"

"Someone else taking charge of the company is a serious matter. Shouldn't we consult everyone first?"

Certain influential figures, exuding an air of superiority, displayed thinly veiled disdain, openly questioning Stephanie's competence.

Korbin's gaze cooled slightly. He felt the urge to defend her instinctively, but Stephanie halted him.

Advancing confidently, Stephanie's lips curved into a subtle smile, her demeanor poised, capturing everyone's focus.

"Allow me to reintroduce myself, everyone. I am Stephanie Gilbert of the Acme Group and Horizon Corporation."

This simple revelation prompted a shift in many expressions across the room.

"So, she's THE Miss Stephanie!"

"Edward Gilbert's younger sister!"

"I heard she independently launched a fashion brand in college, garnered international acclaim, and later orchestrated strategic stock market moves, acquiring renowned companies like Hayes Group and Martin Group. She's an industry legend!"

"That's her!"

Three years prior, Stephanie had been hailed as a true prodigy. While not everyone might have recognized her as the Acme Group heiress, her accomplishments were widely known.

Those who had voiced doubts about her assuming the CEO role fell silent.

She had her reasons for relinquishing her CEO title three years ago.

Initially faded from the public sight due to her marriage to Erik, many had momentarily forgotten about her until Stephanie reminded them.

After quelling the murmurs in the room, Stephanie swiftly took charge and led the meeting. Later, she accompanied Korbin back to the CEO's office.

Observing Stephanie deftly handle the chaos and assert her authority, Korbin felt genuinely proud and happy for her.

"You're not leaving this time, are you?" With the office now empty, Korbin asked her this.

"Where would I go now that I've divorced him?"

Stephanie replied casually as she reviewed documents.

Korbin had already heard about her impending divorce from Edward. Now, hearing it confirmed by Stephanie, he couldn't contain his relief.

Yet, he understood the pain Stephanie must have endured to make such a decision, given her deep affection for her soon-to-be ex-husband. Careful not to show too much elation, he feigned comfort. "It's good to have you back. Ed and I will always support you."

Stephanie chuckled at his words. "Support me? I think you should focus on salvaging your reputation first!"

"That's just..."

Before he could finish, there was a knock on the door.

The assistant entered, looking flustered. "We have an issue, Miss Gilbert. There's a significant amount of negative publicity online about you! Public sentiment is overwhelmingly unfavorable!"

Stephanie and Korbin exchanged a glance. She quickly accessed her computer to investigate and indeed found her name topping the trending list.

"Ex-wife of Mr. Erik Palmer from the Palmer Group, lacking moral integrity, faces disdain from the Palmers. She refused the divorce and demanded substantial compensation. Her character is in question and deemed shameless!"
