Chapter 1 Rejected

Ava's POV

"Today is going to be a great day!" I stood up from my bed and I smiled seeing the glowing sun.

I could already feel the bustling excitement in the environment as people go about their day. It was a joyous day for everyone.

I walked towards the mirror in my room and I looked at myself in the mirror and my face beamed with a smile.

"You are beautiful, Ava, and I am sure if you are lucky to find your mate tonight he will not be able to take his eyes off you," I say and I giggle at the thought.

'Yes we might be lucky to find our mate, tonight' my wolf, Aria beamed and I smiled.

I was finally eighteen, the age which was precious to everyone because we can attain our full strength and if lucky also find our mate on the same day.

"And it has to be the day that the pack is organizing a ball," I beamed and it felt like heaven was helping me because there was no way I would be able to find my mate when the whole pack members were going to present the ball.

I decided to walk out of my room but I was immediately slammed with a slipper on my head and I winced in pain as I glared at the person who threw the slippers at me.

"How dare you do that to me, Georgina!" I yelled at the blond girl mocking me and I sighed knowing she was just looking for trouble.

Georgina is my childhood friend, and her family took me in when I lost my parents, and ever since then, we have been inseparable.

"Happy birthday dummy!" She says and I snorted at her. "Ok, don't be mad but I know you can't actually stay mad at me. Today is a big day and I know you are expecting something," Georgina said and I smiled.

"I know right...what if I meet my mate today," I say and I giggle at the thought.

"As you are thinking of how you meet your mate I hope you are already thinking of how to get f**k?" Georgina says and I gasped hearing her impudent talk.

Georgina was always loose and she didn't believe in keeping her chastity till she met her mate since she already had boyfriends so she was cool with not meeting her mate.

"What! How can you say that?" I cautioned but she shrugged her shoulders telling me that she wasn't lying.

"Why are you acting scent? Don't tell me you haven't thought about that?" She asked and my ears got red in embarrassment wondering why the girl was doing that to me.

"But you have your preference for men, right? Like when a man is rough or gentle on the bed?" She asked and I gasped jumping up seeing that was the height of it.

"You are impossible, Georgina," I said walking out of the house but her voice came behind me. "If you ever need a tutorial, don't hesitate to tell me, okay?" She says and I hissed but I was unfortunate to bump into one of the girls in the pack.

"What were you going, orphan!" Arissa, one of the girls in the pack who hated me, says but I noticed she ran off immediately and when I turned around I saw Georgina smiling behind me.

"You did that?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders...she was always there to save me and because she was stronger I let her.

Evening came and me and Georgina got dressed for the ball with me dressed in a red gown and Georgina in a short blue gown...very short.

Immediately we entered the ball all the people looked at us but I was not moved by that since I knew they were obviously admiring Georgina and not me.

We went to sit in a corner even though Georgina argued saying I was supposed to meet my mate if I didn't mingle with the rest of the kids.

"I don't need to do that. I am sure that if he is at this party I am going to feel him," I said counterattacking Georgina's words and she looked at me rather surprised.

"What? Is that how it works?" She asked not to believe it and I nodded my head.

The ball was already in bloom and I ran my eyes through the people searching for any familiar scent but I was disappointed.

"What's going on? Why is the Alpha not in the ball he organized? What a cocky man!" Georgina scoffs and I cautioned but I noticed something different.

I felt myself feeling oddly uncomfortable and I wondered what could be wrong with me and I thought I was coming down with flu so I decided to take my leave thinking that staying there might actually not help.

"So where are you going dummy? The ball Judy stared," Georgina whispered to me and I told her that I was not feeling not feeling alright and she told me to run along.

I walked towards the entrance but I felt more uneasy and instead of going home I subconsciously walked towards the back of the party which I still don't know why.

"What am I doing here?" I mumbled and I turned around walking away but an alluring smell wafted through my nose and my steps halted momentarily.

'What is this smell?' I thought and I felt my wolf, Aria felt restless and my shaky feet started moving on their own until I saw a man dressed in a black suit with his back facing me and he must have also noticed my presence because he turned immediately.

I heard my wolf jolted immediately looking at the man in front of me before he whispered a rather unbelievable word to me. 'Mate!' Aria echoes and I gasped looking at the outstanding man with a cigarette tucked between his lips in front of me.

'What! He is our mate? But how is that possible?'...
