Chapter 4 One night stand

Ava's POV

I smiled in my dream as I felt a sweet smell wafted through my nose and I wondered who was making those delicious pastries early in the morning.

I tried to stretch on my bed but my body felt stiff when I felt warm arms wrapped around my waist.

'What is this? What pillow is wrapped around my waist?' I thought but my eyes went wide open and immediately I realized what was going on.

'What! Whose hands are wrapped around me?' I thought Andi stiffened, scared that I might wake who was beside me but that wasn't my headache yet. My real headache was that I was in bed with a man...probably.

I tried to recollect my memories wondering what could be wrong and how I landed myself on the bed with a stranger but I found it hard as I felt a banging headache set in.

I hissed in frustration knowing that might be the consequences of getting myself drunk the other night and I decided to get out of bed but I felt sore down there and I wondered how rough the man was with me.

The last thing I remembered was going to a club after Eric's rejection and getting drunk but...a man with a rather interesting face walked towards me at the bar and that was the last thing I remembered.

But did I sleep with that man?

'What a way to live, Ava! How dare you get drunk and sleep with another man that is not your mate' I thought but my mind went back to the brutal way my mate rejected me and I couldn't help but feel sad.

"I think my regrets can hold on but I need to get out of bed before this man wakes up," I mumbled slowly and I tried to get out of his hold but the strange man held me to his closet rocking his morning erection on my butt.

'Bastard!' I cursed but I felt something strange in my body. Aria shut herself out after what happened with Eric but I noticed she was making a slight movement trying to communicate with me but I was too occupied to care.

I turned around slowly so I would be able to get myself out of the man's hold and finally go home but immediately I turned I was met with one of the most angelic faces I have ever seen.

'He is handsome,' I thought and I got lost staring at him.

He has delicate features, making his face hard to look away from, his pointed nose accentuating his face and his pouty moist rosy red lips that look ravishing and my throat gets dry just thinking about how the man must have kissed me with it.

He looks ethereal! I wasn't able to have a full view of his face the other night because I was drunk but after taking a good look at him he was not bad at all.

I jolted out of my thoughts, remembering that I was supposed to be running away but I decided to run my hands through his face before that and immediately I extended my hands. I felt Aria whisper an unbelievable word to me...Mate.

My hands shook hearing Aria's whisper and I felt oddly uncomfortable wondering if something was wrong.

'What are you saying, Aria? Are you crazy?' I scolded my wolf still not taking my eyes off the man and Aria purred hearing my words.

'No, he is our mate, Ava. The moon goddess has given us another chance to love' I heard Aria giggles and I shook my head not believing it a bit.

How can he be my mate? Who is now Eric? How can I be mated to two men at a time? And why does it have to be this man?

Different questions run through my mind but Aria answers my questions. 'You don't have to think so much..just see it has a way of the moon goddess compensating you' Aria whispered and I scoffed.

"So what if he is our mate?" I mumbled and Aria suddenly started bombarding me with questions but I shut her out.

I looked at the man, who seemed to be my mate, and from his composure and his aura I could already tell that he was an alpha so who was to think of being his mate?

"I know you are going to reject me as well since I am just a helpless she-wolf so I am going to do you the favor of disappearing and never appear in front of you again," I say and my breath felt constricted saying that and my eyes welled up in tears.

'Why is life so unfair? Why did I keep getting mated to people who would deem one unworthy' I thought, but I decided to leave before the man woke up and slapped the rejection to my face.

I got out of the bed gently with my shaky legs and I felt Aria grumbling about leaving the place but I was adamant on my decision. She was just an animal and could only work with what she wanted, but I was sensible to think for her.

I do not know how to handle another rejection from this man so it was better to leave and not look back.

I got dressed and I felt my heart breaking knowing if I walked out of that room I might not get blessed with another chance but I knew it was better living with the truth that my mate rejected me.

I walked towards the door as I got dressed and I took a last glance at the man, who was still sleeping, and forced a smile.

"It was nice meeting you," I said bowing my head and I cracked the door open leaving the room that contains the memories of my first night...with my mate but it was for the better.

That was going to be our last meeting but I was wrong...only if I knew.
