Chapter 5

I couldn't sleep properly at night.No matter how much I tried, I just kept tossing and turning till morning. I woke up really early , brushed my teeth and had a quick bath.

I pulled up my shorts and fastened the zipper. The clanking of pots can be heard signalling that Jenna was making breakfast. She is a terrible cook , the only thing she can do perfectly is make coffee

" Good morning"

" How are you doing"? She asked worriedly.

" Stop looking at me like that, I'm ok Jenna ".

"I just talked to Landon and he said Jason is in a coma, he had a terrible blow to the head".

" What exactly happened to him"?she asked in bewilderment

I struggled for the right words to say without sounding deranged.

" I don't know, it happened so fast".

" Have some pancakes " while I get dressed.

The pancakes were terrible and completely burnt . I settled for warm milk with cereal.

The hallway was buzzing with students moving to and fro. I walked head first into a wall and wondered why there was a wall in the middle of the hallway, but wait " why do I feel tingles"

I looked up and came face to face with professor kane who held me in his arms to prevent me from hitting the ground .

" Are you ok"? He asked softly.

" Yes I'm fine,thank you sir".

" Be careful next time"

He commanded and walked off. His strides were powerful and confident. Today he had on a complete black attire and he looked so good.

Jenna and I walked into our third class for the day which was English .

" Now class, hope you reviewed the books I mentioned in our last class".

A chorus of ' yes and no's resonated round the class .I looked up and our eyes met but for some reason I couldn't look away and neither did he. The universe stopped and it was just us. I have never felt like this for any man .

He finally looked away clearing his throat ."We are going to discuss about ' Romeo and Juliet'.

" I want someone to divulge the character of Juliet "

" I think she's stupid for killing herself for a man when there are a lot of hot men out there" Brenda voiced in amusement.

He rubbed his forehead ,paused his lips and rolled his eyes" Miss Fraser, if you don't have anything clever to say, I suggest you keep your mouth shut".

" I need a reasonable insight on the character of Juliet Montague, Miss Keeler"?

My eyes darted over to him so quickly , I got a whiplash.

" Me?"

" Yes Miss Keeler"

I blinked a few times and tried to calm my nerves , " Juliet Capulet appeared to be a shy and innocent girl at the beginning of the play, but the depth of her character showed as she meets Romeo, defies her father, marries Romeo, and ultimately commits suicide. While appearing quiet and obedient, Juliet displays inner strength, intelligence, bravery, wit, and independence."

As I talked, he stared at me with intently with an unknown emotion.

" That's brilliant, thank you Miss Keeler"

" Juliet's development from a wide eyed girl into a self-assured, loyal, and capable woman is one of Shakespeare's early triumphs of characterization. It also marks one of his most confident and rounded treatments of a female character".

He talked with determination and poise. With a commanding presence, his posture radiates assurance. His words flowssmoothly, carrying a measured cadence that captivates the room.

The class ended and students poured out.

"Miss Keeler'?

I Stopped in my tracks when I heard my name . I turned to Jenna nervously and she mouthed to me quietly.

"what does he need you for? , I shrugged nervously and walked towards him.

"Sir,?

"I need you to stay behind and help me with some worksheets, I know your next class is not for another two hours."

"How does he know my schedule?" I puzzled , then I nodded my head because for some reason my mouth refused to open.

I followed him to his office like a lamb headed to the slaughter. He opened the door and stepped aside to allow me walk in first. "Ladies first"

I looked around , the office was plain with just a desk and a swivel chair and some desk chairs, there was a bookshelf at the right and a 32 inch tv mounted on the wall. His table was scattered with books and papers.

"Um the worksheets are here" he said pointing towards a stack of papers, "they are all mixed up. Can you help me to separate all of them into these categories?.

He handed me another paper. I took it and nodded. I placed my bag on one of the chairs and got to work.

He sat down opening up his laptop and typed away. He looked so focused and I noticed his forehead creases when focused and he bites his bottom lip when thinking.

He caught me staring and I looked away blushing with my cheeks on fire.

As I worked, my phone buzzed. I looked up at him and he nodded. I picked up my phone.

" where the hell are you "? Jenna's voice boomed through the phone. He looked up like he heard it but I doubted it .

I winced, " Jen , I am with professor Kane, I will call you when I'm done" I hung up and apologized to him.

" It's ok, you don't have to apologise" he said softly.

" I'm done with the worksheets sir, where should I place them? I asked fervently . " can you place it in the top shelf?

I went over to the shelf and tried to reach the top part , I stretched and jumped almost missing a step a when suddednly , I felt tingles on my back.

" Give them to me' he said staring at me intently while standing so close to me. If I moved a little bit , I'm sure our lips will touch.

I breathed deeply and licked my lips , his eyes was focused on my lips when-

"Fuck it" he dragged me close and placed his warm lips on mine. His lips moved against mine, his tongue begging for entrance. He grabbed my waist, pulling me into him, his erection digging into my stomach.

I should have stopped him but my hands moved around his neck , pulling him closer and I kissed him back.
