Chapter 5 5.

Sunlight streamed through the window, prompting me to shield my face with the covers. Surprisingly, the sheets felt softer than I recalled, and the bed offered a heightened level of comfort. As I rubbed my eyes and sat up, it dawned on me-this wasn't my room.

"Where the hell am I?" I ask and I suddenly remember.

I couldn't believe it; marrying the renowned billionaire Troy Nulec wasn't just a dream-I had actually agreed to it. Why couldn't it have been a nightmare instead? I sighed, lying back on the bed, my arm draped over my forehead. The realization hit me: I was desperate enough to sign that contract with Mr. Rich. What had I gotten myself into?

Distracted by the grumble of my stomach, I decided to find something to eat. Rising from the bed, I headed to the hallway. Wait, what is the way to the kitchen? The direction I took leads me to a door. Great I went the wrong way! Stupid mansion, why'd you have to be so damn big? I open the door and am surprised it was an empty room. Mhmm, they are probably remodelling it or something.

"Alicia what are you doing here?" Troy growls.

I turn around and find him standing there in front of me, shirtless.

"I-I... errr I kinda got lost." I reply as I force my eyes to stare at Troy's face and not his well toned chest.

"Yeah well let's try not to get lost anymore," He retaliated as his eyes gave me a hard look.

What did I do now? I just got lost and ended up in an empty room, and he got mad for that. Something is wrong with him!

"It's not like I know this place like the back of my hand so it should be understandable if I get lost." I retort.

"Would you like me to draw a map out for you your majesty." Troy responds sarcastically.

I roll my eyes and start walking away, I wasn't sure where I was walking to but I wanted to get as far away from this man. I wasn't going to argue with him on an empty stomach.

"Where is it you are trying to get to?" He asks and I could sense he had a smirk splattered across his well moulded face.

"To the kitchen." I answer.

"Kitchen's the other way." Troy states just as I start walking to the left.

"Of course it is." I mumble before heading towards the right.

I walk straight and come out at the main staircase. I walk down the stairs as I let my nose guide the way. I could smell eggs, bacon, and the best of all freshly made pancakes. I enter the kitchen to find the cook and a girl? Her back was to me, the only thing I could see was her light brown blonde tipped wavy medium length hair that seemed to shine in the light. She was wearing a red patterned flannel shirt dress and a pair of black boots. My first guess was that she was probably one of Troy's many sluts. Who knew I was extremely wrong?

"Good morning Ms. Anderson, how did you sleep?" The cook, Felix states as I try to shush him but I was too late.

The girl had turned around, and now I had a full view of her face. Her light blue eyes stared at me, as if she was checking me up.

"Who are you." She ask as she raised an eyebrow.

I was about to answer but my eyes diverted from her face to her wild hair, which was all over the place. I bite my lip trying my hardest not to burst into uncontrollable laughter.

"Wait, let me guess another one of Troy's sluts?" She adds and I give her a confused look.

I thought she was another one of Troy's hook ups?

"Gabby this is Alicia, my fiancé the one I talked to you about." Troy's voice states as a hand is placed on my lower back causing me to jump.

Honestly, can't he give people a heads up, or a warning?

The girl, Gabby jumps off the stool and runs over to me before wrapping me into a warm hug.

"Oh my god I am so sorry, I didn't know. I am so glad to finally meet you." Gabby states as we pull away from the hug.

"Same here." I respond with a smile, not really certain of what to say.

"So have you told mom and dad about the great news?" Gabby asks as she tucks a strand of her silly hair behind her ear.

"No not yet," Troy starts as he looks at me and then at Gabby again as he continues his sentence. "But since mom and dad want us over for diner tonight, they will find out then."

"Oh my god, I am so excited!" Gabby squeals causing me to let out a small laugh. "So are you going to tell me how you guys met?"

I could feel my heart stop, as realization dawned on me. Troy never told me the story slash lie we were going to tell his family when they asked this question.

"Well you see," I start off not really knowing what to say next.

I look over at Troy for help but it seemed like we were on the same boat. The next few words came out from my mouth before I could even process them.

"One day Troy came in to the Douglas diner and it was rush hour. I was taking the coffee to one of my customers when I bumped into him and spilled the coffee on him. After that he became daily customer at the diner which was were I worked at and slowly each passing day we fell in love with each other, we went on dates. And well one day he just asked me to marry him and now we are engaged."I state before I can even process what I am saying. Well I didn't totally lie half of the story was accurate except for the fall in love with each other and go on dates part. Now that's a total lie.

"Oh shoot, I better getting going. I have some errands to finish up at my job. I will see you guys tonight, bye Alicia it was nice meeting you." Gabby states as we walk towards the door.

"You too, bye." I respond with a smile before I close the door. "Your sister seems nice."

"She is, the one you will have trouble with his Janet." Troy replies as we walk back into the kitchen to eat our breakfast.

"How many siblings do you have?" I question before I plop some bacon into my mouth.

"Three, Gabby and Janet who are the youngest they're twins but they don't really look that much alike nor act that much alike. And we also have Daniel the oldest out of the four." Troy explains.

"Oh cool." I respond as I take a sip from my juice. "Must be nice to have such a big family." I mumble.

"What did you say?" Troy asks.

"U-uh nothing, just singing yup just singing." I reply with a small smile.

Troy looks at me suspiciously but I just continue to eat my breakfast.

"Wait, what was that family dinner you were talking about?" I ask as I start to pick up my plates but the maid does it for me.

Guess I have to get used to letting others do stuff for me.

"God why'd I have to chose the one that asks a bunch of questions?" Troy murmurs but I clearly heard him.

"Well who told you to go around asking a random stranger to marry you." I mumble and it seemed like Troy heard me, oh well I don't care.

"My mom wants me over for diner, so I am going take you with me so we can tell them we are engaged. Then hopefully dad will agree to hand me down the company." Troy explains.

"Oh okay, if your majesty doesn't mind me asking what time will the dinner be?" I respond.

"It's going to be at eight but we are leaving at seven twenty five so we can get there on time. My mom hates when people are late." Troy answers. "So I expect you to be ready by that time."

"Yes sir." I reply as I get up and start making my way to my room.
