Chapter 8 Twilight Love

On a day off, Snow Sky-Dog decided to leave the Academy of Divine Beings to explore the world of humans. He stepped out of the academy gates with light, curious, and eager steps. The new world unfolded before Snow Sky Dog's eyes, promising an adventure he had long awaited.

Outside, the sun cast warm rays, embellishing the magnificent natural scenery. Snow Sky-Dog chose a lush green grassy spot where he could sit and enjoy the freedom and tranquility of the surroundings. A gentle breeze swept through, making the green grass dance with the wind. The fresh green carpet, accompanied by the gentle sound of rustling leaves, created a beautiful and serene natural painting.

As the sunset began to manifest, a canvas of pink and deep orange hues gradually intermingled with the blue-green tones of the grass and sky. Snow Sky-Dog immersed himself in the mystery of this moment, the sunset capturing the last light of the day, enhancing the whiteness of his snow-like fur.

In the tranquil natural painting, Snow Sky-Dog tilted his head, contemplating the flow of time within his soul. Each gust of wind carried memories and recollections of the past, along with hopes for the future. He sensed his presence in this vast human world, and his heart beat with joy and expectation. Snow Sky-Dog thought:

"Life, every moment, is precious and worth cherishing. Sitting here amidst the tranquility, I feel the vibrancy and natural beauty of the world. Gazing intently at the beauty of the sunset, I realize that to understand ourselves and the world, we must experience both good moments and difficult challenges. With a light and refined soul, Snow Sky-Dog continued to gaze at the sunset, hoping that each moment would enrich his journey in life.

Suddenly, an unpleasant noise pierced Snow Sky Dog's highly sensitive ears. He glanced southward, away from the grassy field.

"Well, I was about to take a nap, and now I can't sleep anymore! How annoying! A group of men bullying a defenseless girl – there's no shame left in the three worlds that can compare to their disgrace," Snow Sky-Dog said in frustration. Then, he spread his wings, as white as snow, behind him and swiftly flew towards the location where the thugs were attacking a helpless girl.

"Please, spare me!" The young girl pleaded.

"You don't need to beg them! I'm here to protect you!" Snow Sky-Dog declared with a loud and commanding voice.

The girl looked back. To her surprise, she saw a remarkably handsome man with strangely beautiful wings on his back. Snow Sky-Dog also observed the girl for a moment, and he was suddenly amazed by her beauty. He thought to himself, "This girl is even more beautiful than Mizuchi Haruka! How can there be a girl in the human world more beautiful than the goddess of spring and flowers!"

Her exquisite beauty wasn't just a harmony of external features; it was also the elegance and purity, the innocence and sanctity within her soul. The twilight light, combined with the shadows of the trees, created a fantastic evening scene, highlighting the warm smile on the girl's face. Her eyes, bright like two sparkling gems under the twilight, created an innocent yet lively aura.

Snow Sky-Dog couldn't take his eyes off the girl. His smile became even brighter as the radiant sunset accentuated the beauty of her golden hair, shining like the hair of the goddess of light. The girl seemed like an angel appearing amid the wonderful natural scenery, making the atmosphere warm and intimate.

The stir in Snow Sky Dog's heart was indescribable. He felt the rapid beating of his heart as if the leaps of his soul resonated with the girl's beauty. "Perhaps, the human world not only contains serene moments of sunset but also harbors marvelous beauty in memories and people." Snow Sky-Dog thought silently, sinking into the mesmerizing beauty and intense love for this girl. However, an irritating sound brought him back to reality.

"Kid, get lost! Don't interfere in our private affairs! Otherwise, even you will suffer greatly!" The ruthless leader of the bandits spoke menacingly.

Snow Sky-Dog furrowed his brows tightly.

"I forgot that I haven't dealt with you yet!"

Facing Snow Sky Dog's determined gaze, the bandits couldn't react in time. Snow Sky-Dog gently raised his hand, and chilling air-like ice began to form around his fingertip, transforming into sharp weapons. The cold force was palpable, making the air chilly and damp.

The bandits, even their leader, felt the cold wind blowing from Snow Sky Dog, instilling fear in them. Before anyone could react, Snow Sky-Dog swiftly attacked. He moved like the wind, traversing space in the blink of an eye, and the icy wind turned into sharp swords, beheading the bandits.

Each of Snow Sky Dog's attacks was powerful and precise. Snowflakes formed into soft curves, but the strength in each strike was undeniable. The bandits had no choice but to face the ruthless power of the snow angel; they couldn't cope with this overwhelming force.

Snow Sky Dog showed no mercy. He fought with all his strength and skill, turning the bandits into frozen meat. With the flexibility and destructive power of snow, he efficiently subdued each enemy, leaving behind a horrifying scene.

The battle ended quickly, but each of Snow Sky Dog's blows left a deep impression on the beautiful girl. He stood amid the grassy field, surveying the surroundings with a calm yet powerful gaze. The snow around him melted, and the peaceful scene returned.

"Don't ever think of harming others, especially when the victim is a vulnerable woman," Snow Sky-Dog said with a serious tone, anger simmering within him at those who violated the safety of others.

As the battle faded away, the young girl walked up to Snow Sky Dog and said:

"Thank you for helping me!" The girl stayed silent for a moment before continuing, "Are you a god or a youkai?"

Snow Sky-Dog laughed, a charming smile as if trying to enchant all the women in the world.

"I am both! I am a creature half god, half youkai!"

"Oh! I'm surprised, but thank you anyway!" The girl smiled and added, "Next weekend, the town where I live is organizing a lantern festival. If you're not busy, come and join me!"

Snow Sky-Dog stood still for a few seconds, overwhelmed with joy that he couldn't contain. However, he tried to maintain a calm and cool demeanor. He laughed, that enchanting smile again.

"Sure thing! The most beautiful person in my heart!"
